Immense gratitude to Shrike4242 for updating this thing while I was away!!!

This is an odd one.....

Basically the gist is that Toys R Us is reducing its inventory by 20% by marking down over 6,000 skns from it's inventory, most of which are toys. There are however roughly 300 or so video games/accesories that will be a part of this clearance. As of 7/11 all have been marked down from 30-50%. TRU is seeking to aggressively move these skns out of its stores. So if these games have not sold in roughly a months time they will be marked down again...a month later, again.....and so on until it's gone. So if you're the gamblin' type I suppose you could hold out for cheaper prices. Prices seem to be good everywhere, though there may be some variance in prices between stores.

Everything that is a part of this sale is on a 3 week cycle, meaning that every three weeks any items remaining in the stores will receive another price drop. Seeing as how these prices went into effect on the 11th of July we should be seeing them all drop again on the 1st of August.

The only caveat here being that retail is an odd beast that can be subject to change. So basically there is another price drop coming that in all likelihood will happen on the 1st so check back on the than to see what's up.

*****CONDENSED VERSION FOR THOSE OF US THAT ARE NOT SO GOOD WITH THE READING*****

a.) TRU marked down a shiton of inventory.

b.) Inventory will continue to be marked down if they do not sell.

c.) Prices may vary between store.

Picked up Psychonauts for the xbox today...now it just needs to go BC dammit.

should we start a sticky thread about this?

stating that all the prices are BY REGION, and extremely YMMV. in that thread we can have everyone post their specific store and what is on clearance. we'll keep updating the original thread in that one. good idea?

OP that list you posted can't be a main/tell-all list, the sale is by region/store isn't it?

Picked up Fire Emblem: SS for GBA but unfortunately no copies of Area 51 or Destroy All Humans which are what I really wanted.

*Shameless self-promotion*
I figured someone would do it eventually, so I went ahead and started a trade thread for this clearance in the CAG trading forum. The link is HERE.
Hopefully this way we can share the wealth, as this does seem to be rather YMMV.

Final Fantasy XI with HD was $69.98 at my TRU (but everything else was marked down)

Good god, my credit card took a beating today. Picked up:

Final Fantasy XI w/HDD ($39.98)
Castlevania Double Pack ($19.98)
Fire Emblem: POR ($29.98)
Soul Calibur 3 ($19.98)
Baten Kaitos w soundtrack ($14.98)
Suikoden Tactics ($14.98)

Had everything I wanted and had some extras of a couple things purchased.

I was able to score a few PSP games from this deal so thank you very much jetsetmario!

Also, I just moved to a new town and my local TRU is still using the old-school ticket-system for their video game dept?!! I felt like I traveled thru time back to 1997...

the clearnace bin in the TRU in whitestone, queens NY had FF:Crystal chronicles (no link cable) for 10 bucks last month. there were a whole bunch on the bin, i bought a copy when i was scoring the NDS Lite

Sadly there is only one TRU within 80 miles of my house and that place is shit.

BB is shit.
CC is shit.
TRU is shit.

Where the fuck am I supposed to buy cheap games?

All the Fire Emblem games were sold out at the TRU in Fullerton, CA - both the GBA and GC ones.

So I ended up just picking up a discounted Baten Kaitos for GC $14.99 and then I caved and finally got God of War for normal price of $19.99.

::sigh::

Didn't see this in the OP's list or in the last 5 pages so I'll post it.

We Love Katamari was $14.98 at my TRU. They had a few in stock and I wouldn't mind picking up copies for people as long as the pay the costs.
This would mean: .50 cents for the envelope, $1 for Paypal and like $2.50 for shipping and gas.

Anyone can PM me if they want it or hopefully people can find them at their TRUs.

Heh, yea, my local TRU still uses the tickets as well. I've given up hoping that they'll ever upgrade.

Anyway, I snagged the last Psychonauts this afternoon (or at least the last ticket - there's always the slim chance there's one in the back w/ no ticket) and a copy of GG X2. They had a TON of tickets for Oddworld - I mean, there had to be at least 20 - so I think I'm safe waiting for a further drop on that one. ;)

*Northern, Virginia Update:
Checked out the Fair Lakes, VA location. They still had some titles. If anyone is looking for something specific, please PM me and I'll try to help you out.
Only picked up:
Romancing Saga (PS2)
Fire Emblem Sacred Stones (GBA)
Still in search of:
Guilty Gear X2 - $4.98
Halo 2 CE - $4.98
Onimusha 3 Demon Siege - $4.98
Suikoden Tactics - 19.98
Soul Calibur 3 - 19.98
Ninja Gaiden Black - $14.98
If anyone can help ME out, please PM... Thanks!

TRU in timessquare had like one game out of a dozen that I checked for prices reduced in price.

187 Ride or die for 10 bucks.

Most everything else I tried on the list still checked at regular price or at the least a price that didn't make them any more attractive.

Ive been in the Montgomery store... it was so disorganized it was scary... of course it was holiday time

I was scouting some Bay Area stores, i noticed that Battles of Prince of Persia (DS) was selling for $ 19.99 ($39.99 orig).

was this a price drop? could be.

i saw:
Rayman (DS)
Sprung (DS)

that was about it. tsk.

I personally think this sale sucks balls. Whats with all the games only bein marked down to 14.99$ instead of the usual 9.99$ fuck you toys R us

Yeah the sales aren't exciting at first, but overtime if people resist the urge to pay full the prices will gradually lower, that is of course they are still there. I'm personally waiting for The Punisher and Serious Sam 2 to drop even more. I want Psychonauts but I wonder how much it will drop if I wait even longer.

yeah, I'll wait a month and then go see what they have and what the prices dropped to. I can wait since I bought a crapload of games from BB, CC, GS/EB, and Play-Asia this past month.

The "usual" $9.99 didn't start until December. Green tag worked the same way this is working... they're X% off, then they will be more heavily discounted if they don't sell.

Personally, I think $14.98 for Psychonauts is a great price, even though I've already beaten it at a friends house. It's that good a game.
But, yeah, not everything can be the CC $8.96 sale where everything bottoms out at once. Personally, I'm hoping for a 50% cut in a month or so. Then there are several games I'm holding back on that I'll jump on.
My greatest problem though: my TRU is great about marking clearance games. So odds are they won't be there in a month. But hopefully, hopefully...

There wasn't much at the Local ToysRus in Queens, NY. Neither store had any Soul Calibur's left. I picked up Destroy all Humans, but resisted picking up any of the left over crap games they had. One store had the Castlevania Double pack, but since I own both games I didn't bother purchasing. The one store at Whitestone had everything marked correctly, bug again mostly the crappy games. If anyone sees Soul Calibur 3 or The Hobbit at any NYC stores, please let me know, as those are the only other games I want.

I'm at a teacher's seminar in North Carolina right now, thought I'd miss out on this but found a Toys R Us in Concord here. They had basically every game on the list, most with multiple copies. The only one I really wanted was Suikoden Tactics, which they had about 6 copies of.

3 copies of Fire Emblem were left, which I was tempted with, but I still have not paid more than 15$ for any game and I didn't want to break that.

Went to the Lakeline mall here in Austin around 8:00 tonight and got Final Fantasy XI w/HDD, Psychonauts, Baten Kaitos, Killer 7. They had at least one more copy of all of those. They also had abou 8 or so copies of Fire Emblem for the GBA.

Picked up the following at the TRU in Monroeville, PA:

Dr Mario/Puzzle League GBA $15
Wipeout Pure PSP $20
PQ PSP $15
Frantix PSP $10
Puyo Pop Fever NDS $10
Doom 3 CE XBX $10

They had a great selection overall. Well worth checking out if you live in the area. All the sale games are clearly marked, so I'm guessing the good ones won't last long.

Went to the TRU in Racine, WI at Regency Mall and they had a good collection left. About the only one they didn't have was Suikoden Tactics, the one I was looking for. I can look for a game for someone if they can get me Suikoden Tactics.

I'd like a copy of the Doom 3 CE if someone is able to find it. My local TRU didn't have too much to pick from. I could have grabbed a copy of Fire Emblem: SS for the GBA, but my daughter wasn't really in the mood for me to do any shopping.

I think it's more an issue of many of the games on the list being availible elsewhere for lower prices right now. Trapt can be gotten from BB for half what TRU us selling it for, Rise of the Kasai is a 5 dollar game so to many people that 15 seems like they didn't lower the price at all. Many of the other games are still like 30 or more even though they should be closer to 20 bucks before anyone could be interested in buying them. I price checked serveral games ar TRU in timessquare without having the list infront of me and I thought most of them hadn't even had their prices changed. I only got 187 Ride Or Die because it was the only one that wouldn't scan on the price checker due to the plastic case and figured I'd just take a chance and ask them to price check while I picked up the MGS graphic novel UMD.

I wish they still had FF11s in there though, I would've bought 2 and been able to find uses for them BOTH (a hoarder I am NOT).

wish Fatal Frame 3 dropped...damn tecmo almost always finds a way to make me pay in full.

I saw those same games for that exact price clearly marked at the Fontana, CA Toys'R'Us. Only had one or two copies of each left though and everything else wasn't worth mentioning.

I did buy PQ (PSP) on impulse since it was the last copy, but debating whether I'll actually play it or not.

If I get some more money soon, I'll have to look for Romancing Saga and Suikoden Tactics... or ah maybe I already have enough games and should play the ones I have first.

If anyone finds GC Alien Hominid for 9.98, I would glady buy it or trade for it. I work in the RZone at the Merriville, IN location, and we still have most games in stock.

Just remembered that they had Street Fighter Anniversary Collection for the Xbox for $10 at this same location. Didn't see this on the original list.

Almost picked it up (there was only 1 copy), but figured that $10 would be better spent on the XBLA SFII coming out next month...
