Toys R Us Coupon mailer: $10 off two games 19.99 or less

Yeahman

CAGiversary!
Got a R-Zone holiday gift guide in the mail today. A couple of good coupns in there:

Save $10 on Sega 2 packs

$10 off an Nintendo purchase $100 or more

Save $5 off any Disney Video Game

The most interesting is one that is $10 off any two Video games $19.99 or LESS. Obviously a misprint but it will be interesting to see if they will honor it. Probably not.

Anyone else get these? The coupons are good starting Dec 3rd

I printed a scan of the coupon on a laser printer and had no problems using it today.
Would that scan happen to be online. If so, can you PM me where. I'd give it a shot.
Make this a "me too, I'd like one too" request.

I'd like the same, thanks.

They had a buy 2 games, get 10 bucks off...but there was a list of games that you had to choose from. Of course, all of them were at least 39.99.
You got any memory of what games were on the list? You never know what I might be convinced of at Toys R Us, the place is magical you know.

I can tell you right now we'll never see this coupon scan online.

Is this in the R-Zone in-store flyer? The bastards didn't send me one in the mail, even though I got a 20% off your next purchase coupon in the mail last month.

You absolutely sure about that? ;)

I stand corrected, sir!
What good would an invalid scanned coupon do? Btw, thanks for scanning it anyway.
are these coupons actually not reusable once the number is scanned? that seems odd - how/why would they individually number coupons. seems like a lot of trouble.

I'd be interested to know if anyone else has gotten away with this - I personally don't have the balls to try something so....well, fraudulent. but it sure is tempting, i'll admit...

I'm sure it's reusable. I think evilmax was referring to the "Void If Copied" phrase printed on the coupon itself.

I have already printed it out and used it on two different occasions. On copy paper with a black and white laser printer, no less. The cashier did not even give it a second look. I am sure that teenage holiday part-timers have more to think about.

I'm not so sure that the "void if copied" text means much to stores (except when they're trying to get an out from honoring coupons). Whenever I receive digital coupons from various stores that are explicitly meant to be printed out and used in-store, I still see that same text used. Specifically, I've seen this with Borders and Circuit City coupons; I can't vouch for Toys R Us.

Just so you all know, I confirmed that a copy works today. :) What I did is cropped the coupon, resized it to 2"x3", and then took the file to Kinko's and printed out a whole sheet of these coupons on their glossy paper. The clerk looked STUNNED when she saw my discount of $93.88   , but they honored the psuedo-coupon!
hmmmm....do i have the balls to try this.....??
I am thinking the same thing but I am going to go some weekend morning when it will be real busy hoping they will pass me through just to get me out of their hair. And if that doesn't work I will just say that I found the coupon online and brought it in. If they say they can't accept it I say no problem and walk. Not like they are going to grab me over the counter or something.

Yooo Chris! Hey man, thanks for sending that game so fast. You were supposed to wait until you received. :p Anyways, that will definitely be a plus when it comes time to leave you feedback. :)

UPDATE: I took my mom there to go Christmas shopping, and together we bought 25 games for $40!!! Her receipt said she saved $209, and my receipt from earlier today said I saved $93, so all in all we saved over $300 at Toys R Us today!! Yes, that's 37 games for about $55!!! Yowza!

Right, but how many were worth it?
Therein lies the question.
All of them were worth it if he has a GameRush nearby.

Read the thread.
any advice on how to get on the mailer list?

The best bet is to call 1-800-toysrus. You can sign up for the mailing list or check to see if you are even on the list by entering your phone number. It's a voice operated menu now, so just say "mailing list" and it will give you instructions on what to do.
bal8664 from TFP says:
"Well i just tried this today and they wouldnt take the coupon, the cashier tried to scan it, wouldnt work, tried to manually punch it in, wouldnt work, had the manager come over and try, wouldn't work. So you may not want to go up there with about 30 games like i did and try this :p"

Um, maybe they caught on and canceled the coupon? Anyone else try this? It worked like a charm for me yesterday. TWICE.

Engineer_J: I am very happy to see that it worked for you. Maybe that guy on TFP had a messed-up copy of the coupon? Or maybe his local TRU haven't updated their system yet. It really is a mystery.

UPDATE!:
This plan just keeps getting more and more amazing. I just thought of this right now: After trading-in all my "free" Toys R Us games to blockbuster and buying out all their $36.99 Preowned games at $6 a pop, I can trade all THOSE games back in for their trade-in prices! Tomorrow I am going to go pick up Star Wars: Battlefront for $6. The trade-in value for that game is $30!! I'm sitting on a gold-mine!

Man I love it when the system farts in favor of the people.

it worked for me today on saturday dec 11. The guy just said oh cool...10 off...dont think he even read the coupon completely....piece of cake

Okay, this is BIg YMMV. I haven't tried it yet. I will tomorrow.

Anyway this week, at least at my TRU good until the 18th, It's buy two PH, PC, GH titles for $30. It might be worth a shot to try to combine this with the $10 off two games priced less than $20. If it works, that's two PH, PC, GH titles for $20. If it works.

I'm going to go in tomorrow to pick up a couple games. I'll see if it can be combine. no where on the coupon does it say it can't be combined. It even states, "Can be used with a manufacturer coupon, except online." But then right after it says, "We reserve the right to cancel anyorder due to unauthorized, altered, or ineligable use of discount."

It's worth the attempt if you're stopping by TRU anyway.

I'm wondering when this deal is going to be stopped. Today a couple of young girls came in and got over 100 of the value software games(regularly $9.99, then it takes half off so they are $5 each). The total was over $1000, then it went down to around $500, then they used the coupon and magically the total went down to $0. Amazing that no one stopped it.

So they basically walked out of there with about 100 Value Games... free?

This might be a new idea to you, but GameRush fans have been doing it for quite awhile now, and to the point that GR is catching on. Don't be surprised if they give you a hard time for trying to trade in games you just bought from them on a deal. Some locations have started flagging and/or suspending the accounts of people that do this. If you're going to do it, at least trade in the games at a different store. Don't get caught looking like a scammer.

Were they over 18? I think I wanna marry them.

I seen some guy try to do this but the value games were still $14.99 so they were actually paying $2 and some change for them.
Okay, I just printed thiis out... Original size is 2" x 3"?

It seems small to me but what do I know.
Yeah, that's the original size.

I used it last night, picked up the following for $20 total:

Fantavision (PS2) - green tag game
Silpheed: The Lost Planet (PS2) - green tag game
Banjo Kazooie - Grunty's Revenge (GBA)
Red Faction (PS2)

I just printed out the scan and never had any problems with it.

I registered for the Toys R Us coupon mailer by phone on December 1st. To this day, I have not recieved it. When do the coupons expire, and most important, when do I get my coupons in the mail?

So the green tag is still going on? I tried FF Tatics PSX a week ago and I coulda swore it was green tagged back then. Oh well, I guess AC it'll be $10 so I'll get it.
