TRU Green Tag sale on games to end 11/21/05

Thanks to those who mentioned the Cold Fear price drop and thank you ShinAkuma for the list. :)

I picked up:
Cold Fear (Xbox) $9.99
Xenosaga II $9.99
Unreal II (Xbox) $3.49 :)

I was surprised to find Xenosaga II, since they were sold out the last time I was there. This time they had 4 copies, so I quickly snatched one up. :D
 
It stinks that I dont own a Gamecube. The TSplitters and Chaos Theory are good deals regardless. Even though green tag is ending without the 70 or 90% deals, there's still a bunch of games worth checking out. If these games below are going to be $10 starting tuesday then I know where I'll be going that day:

Ace Combat 5 $49.99

Cold Fear $49.99

Tom Clancy's Triple pack platinum hits (R6, SC, and GR) $39.99

Astroboy $29.99

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance $34.99
Fire Emblem $34.99

Metroid Fusion $34.99

If anyone was planning on getting games that fell below 9.99 theres still Monday (last chance) or you probably would've already made the trip. And at least theyre only going up to 9.99

My biggest problem is walking through the massive crowd of 360 line-waiters. Nothing like the sweet sound of an 8 year old's parents (who dont own HDTV's) spending $60 on a Tony Hawk game because of its "enhanced graphics." Laugh out loud.
 
is there any way to see which toys r us stores have what in stock? i went to the website but its like amazon/toys r us so it doesnt let me see if its in stock. i really wanna get 2 copies of shining soul 2, for me and my brother. and at 10 bucks each, you cant beat that.

These games were marked down to $19.9xGT several weeks back, making them $9.99'ish currently. The price change on Tuesday won't affect these titles.

I forgot that this is tommorow. Here's hoping some goodies are left. I think River City ransom, the metroids, SC:CT, Time splitters FP, FFTA, and others are still left.
 
Stopped at TRU today (11/21) and no dice. Everything is still 50% off, not 9.99.

Scanned a green tag copy of Polarium, still rang up at $14.99.

It ends today. Meaning tomorrow it will be gone.
 
Most of the good stuff is already gone. You might find something that an employee stashed but I wouldn't count on it. The best thing I found were 4 SMT: Nocturnes hiding out behind some of those crappy accessory packs they never seem to sell. If it wasn't for some kid knocking over a few boxes, I would've never found them. And before you guys get all up in arms, I only grabbed 2 of them and left the other 2.

It's a great time to be a cheap ass gamer

Hmmm, now the question becomes, is there anyone with time that can type up the list sorted by system in text? :razz: I was looking through the thumbnails and felt a bit overwhelmed trying to sift through it all and having to keep looking at the system abbreviation. We will all give you the utmost respect and props! :D

I consider it an antiquity now, since it can't even be used with a slim PSTwo.

Noticed the other day in a few PC Game mags that FFXI is just coming out now for the computer...since the PS2HD is worthless anyhow, that might be the best way to go (if it is indeed the same game as the PS2).

FFXI was out on the PC before the PS2 version, it was released in 2003 I think.

FFCC was marked 50 and CR at 40, so they drop from 25/20 to 10...

i probally swing around tomorrow after BB... both open at 9am... wont find anything besides FFCC since i went there saturday and everything was gone.. Even the VIr quest all 10 copies just POOF gone??

Why? The FFXI/HDD isn't even GT'ed, so it wouldn't be affected by this change if it were considered just a game anyhow.

Maybe they pulled them in anticipation... the idiots at the local TRU did this today I was told, because tommorrow "everything is off green tag so we pulled them all early".

Sucks, because I wanted to buy Cold Fear tonight, now I have to go back in tommmorrow.
 
i went to toys r us today and asked if they had shining soul II for the GBA. the guy went to some black binder and went through his list and said he couldnt find it. so i guess my TRU dont got it damnit! if anyone can get me 2 copies (or 1) of shining soul for 10 bucks, i'll buy it from you PLEASE! I'll pay shipping and everything through paypal or whatever. lemme know please

If the other TRUs are like mine, which will only have 6 360s tomorrow, you have nothing to worry about. ^_~
 
Baldurs gate 2 is listed for cube on this list? What gives... I never thought they released that...

Yeah, its probably been sold out forever. I bought it when it was marked down to $5 (last copy) before the green tag started. As long as its Dark Alliance you're referring to.

Did TRU ever drop the price on Haunting Ground/s for PS2? I always wanted to try that game, even though I don't own a PS2.

Yeah, you're right. Wasn't much going on there today. There was a line, but it was almost entirely made up of moms buying stuff. The 360 aisle was vacant. Of course they didn't get many and they're selling them in bundles at over $700 a pop.

But mission accomplished. $9.99 Polarium get!

Good good, I'll head back today perhaps and get my $35 credited back.

Edit: Luckily the first CSR didn't know how ot price adjust, she wanted to make me give her back my $10 gift card with purchase of $75. Person she handed it off to didn't care and gave me $30 back. Though I just realized they didn't catch Polarium along with the other two, so I will need to take my now-mutilated receipt back again sometime this week and get that adjusted as well.
 
If anyone needs, my TRU has like 20 copies of Final Fantasy for the GBA, 5 copies of Polarium and a ton of other games that were marked down.

Edit: To clarify, it's Final Fantasy I&II: Dawn of Souls.
 
Just a heads up, but the local TRU retagged all these with the orange ugly tag, and threw every ex green tag game in one cart waaaaaaaaay in the back of the R-Zone.

I almost didn't find it, until I saw a family digging through it. I think I snagged the last copy of Cold Fear and second to last copy of Amplitude.

yeap they pulled them all cause the was all back today... man they had to have 50 copies of xenogears 2 for 9.99 and 30 copies of FFCC for gamecube...

i got vir quest and the Pol ds game 21.48 after tax

they had

timesplitters or something for the gamecube 1 left
and some tennis game for the ps2 1 left

was going to go back for them BUT then i ran into the 5 bucks games at best buy (after 5 buck md coupon)

Check your Best buy cause they had alot of those Black friday games (2 packs for 10 ) already out
 
To those who price-adjusted: did you have to have the games with you, or just the receipt? AND, did any of the games you purchased involved in the buy 2 get 1 free sale? Thanks. ^_^
 
For some odd reason, the TRU I went to was void of most of their stock of green tagged PS2 games but had a huge bin with a nice amount of X-Box games that were green tagged.

Just your receipt. They do a return/purchase to adjust it, or at least thats what they did for me. Hopefully the CS line won't be as long tomorrow since they missed one of them and I have to do it again.

Big, big thanks go out to the OP for letting us in on this early. I went on my lunch break today and scored some games I've been waiting on for a long time:

Custom Robo - Cube
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles - Cube
Mario Golf Advance Tour - GBA
Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo - GBA

These are by far the cheapest prices I've seen for any of these titles. Custom Robo disappeared at my local Target when it hit clearance at like $20, and the cheapest I'd seen Mario Golf Advance before now has been for $15 at K-Mart...so $10 apiece blew both those prices away! Today, I am a very happy duck. :D

Wow, you should just splash out the cash for one. They have so many incredible deals on it at this point there's no way you should not have one if you have any desire. The best I've seen is the new Mario Party 7 bundle with the newest MP game and an extra controller included. That's $70 worth of free stuff included with a system that only costs $99. Forget one or two games and just go for that I'd think.

That happened to me too. Both Golden Sun (GBA) and F-Zero (Gamecube) rang up as $20 each for some strange reason. However, I did get Feel the Magic for $10. Later on in the day though it didn't seem like a great deal when I found it on clearance at Target for 5.xx. So now I'm considering exchanging those three for store credit or something.

Sweet, thanks botticus. I should have enough money coming back to buy another $50 game...but I should probably just save it, heh. ^_~ I guess we'll see how I feel come tomorrow.
 
The question is, do BB or CC PM from receipts, as opposed to ads? Now that the games aren't discounted/GT'd on the receipt, I can see this being easy to PM. 10% of the difference of, say, TimeSplitters: FP would make it $6.

Anyone had success with receipts before?

Armored Core: Nexus
Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory (GC)
Virtua Quest (PS2)
Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles

It's amazing that the employees didn't even know about it. As soon as I bought my games the cashier commented loudly on what a great deal it was, and a few other employees rushed over to the green tagged games and picked through what was there.

Is virtua quest good? There were a few at my TRU
