I'll give it a shot. No harm in trying.

I find it hard to believe Nintendo would parter with TRU of all places, since they are closing down a huge amount of stores. Target seems like the best choice.

My local TRU has preorder slips for several games. I have Zelda and Red Steel preordered from them.

Mine confirmed that they are doing it but didn't know how many they can preorder. I guess they might get that number tomorrow morning in an email

If its like the other pre-order from a couple weeks ago then you should be able to pre-order games as well. The TRU I went to had a deal that if you pre-ordered 3 games with the wii you recieved $30 off.

Stores that have more preorders tomorrow already have the allotted tickets on hand. That person either didn't want to say, or didn't know how many they received.

And for the $30 off thing, it's actually in the ad for the week of the 19th. I believe it's $30 off when you buy 3 Wii games. I don't have the ad in front of me at the moment. And no, this doesn't apply to ps3 games, before anyone asks.

I called my local TRU and talked to 2 employees, neither of which knew of a preorder on 11/12. However, the guy in electronics didn't just say, "No," instead he said no one in the store had heard of it yet, and that it still might happen tomorrow. So...what the hell is going on? Are some TRUs for sure doing a preorder and some aren't, or is there just a miscommunication?
 
Either it's on a select store basis, or the people you talked to weren't informed about it. The person I talked to put me on hold and said she was going to speak directly to her store manager. When she came back she confirmed they were doing an additional 15 preorders. Other stores I called I just spoke to the drone in the RZone and they had no clue. You might want to ask to speak to the store manager directly or head down there and talk to them in person.

I called back and asked to be redirected to the "RZone", apparently the guy there just found out about it because his manager just got an email from corporate. He didn't know how many preorders they'd be getting tho. Anyone here going? How early is everyone planning on going?
 
Just called my TRU and they said they were doing pre-orders of the WII tomorrow. I asked how many pre-orders they would be taking and all he would just say was "not many".

I may give it a try tomorrow.

look alive cuz I just checked and it's on slickdeals with the same ad page and 3 pages of discussion going on. A few people even made references to this place as "CAG"

What's a good time to be goin for this? 6am? 7am? I dunno if i can stand out in the cold morning for 3-4 hours while waiting for the store to open at 10 lol
 
OK-here goes-ALL STORES TOMORROW except two stores that are closed on Sundays....More than likely the same number as last time and YES there will be extra systems for the 19th. You can preorder games and if you plan on buying Zelda you need to preorder....Do not say I did not warn all of you...The reason Nintendo gave TRU the allocation they did is because TRU has stuck by Nintendo from the beginning. Target...please...Can you believe that Reggie will be giving out the 1st Wii in New York but not at the Nintendo World Store? He will be at the Times Square TRU.
 
I just called the two different Toys R Us loactions and both of them said that they are not accepting preorders tomorrow. However, if I read SRENs post correctly he's saying that all Toy's R Us stores that are open on Sunday will be accepting preorders. I believe SREN, but are these stores just misinformed? Or are they keeping information from people?
 
just returned from my tru...absolutly no one in line..i asked the lady in rzone..she said she just found out about it 5 mins ago when another customer asked. So ill be waking up at 6 am to be there for the 7am tickets. then go get breakfast and come back.
 
Called my store and the guy confirmed it for tomorrow and said they would be getting at least 10, which is already 2 more than they handed out 2 weeks ago. Weird.
 
Sorry for being ignorant, but how do preorders work at TRU? Do they give out tickets at a certain time before opening, or what?
 
Unless the employee has seen the ad they do not know....99% of TRU employees never see the ad before Sunday-Those stores are saying NO because they do not want lines or the hassle that will happen anyways...The Wii presell is not on page 1 of this ad...
 
I called my TRU and they confirmed they were selling the presale tickets tomorrow. They didn't know/wouldn't tell me how many were available. I'm still not going to stand in line. I plan on calling tomorrow when they open to see if there are any left. If so I'll drive in and get one, if not I'll just wait till they become readily available. I'm not that hard up.

I think employees either don't know or are being cagey about it.

At mine, one of the clerks admitted it but wouldn't actually come out and say it.

She made a 1 and then a 5 with her fingers . . . "I said 15 and then she smiled."

Mine opens at 9 . . . I'll get there a little before. Hard to believe there will be 15 people waiting tomorrow.

I work at TRU, yes we are selling the presale for the wii tommorrow.

for all the people that are saying its not is either trying to get you not to go so more for them or they don't really know.

Well, whatever. My store is getting "between 20-40" preorders according to the jerk I talked to before. I doubt 20 people are going to be standing out in the rain in the morning for a preorder, especially when recently released stock numbers are so high. Also, since nobody but the manager knew about it until I called (took like 20 minutes to get an answer about the presale happening at all), I doubt there'll be a huge line.
 
checked 1 store in west omaha they said they were not doing it.
2nd store in central said they had 10 for tomorrow
council bluffs ia has less then 10 they said
im going to get up at 6 and see if i can score a preorder
 
Called my Toys R Us, they said they are doing it but have "no idea" how many they'll receive.

I don't know whether to bother trying or not. I figure I'm willing to get there two or three hours early...but I don't want another scenario like in October where I went all the way out there only to see a way-too-long line.

I might just say forget it and stick to my plan to camp on Saturday.
 
yea i talked to the manager at one store and he told me like how did i know about this secret information. he told me that it was in the weekly ad for the next upcoming week. he told me that the employees don't really know about the Wii pre-orders at all.

Which is the North Austin one? Parmer? I didn't call the one in Cedar Park.

The one on Parmer and the one on 360/Lamar/290 said no. But apparenly people are gambling that there will be preorders?

Tell me about it... but I actually think that more than nerds there are too many ebayers in austin... damn hippies don't wanna get a real job to make their money...

The stores don't open until noon. No manager is going to show up five hours early to hand a bunch of people pieces of paper.

What store opens at 12.....the TRU over here opens at 7 or 8am. Not sure why any store would open that late on a sunday.

Actually, many stores here in GA open at noon on Sunday. Could be a side effect of the blue laws. Lest you forget, we're in God's Country. :roll:
 
One of my friend's friend's is going now to see if they are doing it or if there's a line or something... I talked to someone earlier and they said they weren't sure... so I'm assuming it's a no =/

But if they are doing it, I'll probably grab a few hours of sleep and then head down there at abour 5, if not a bit earlier.

Anyone going?
