Ah, alright.

To get the free scale you need to complete the trial period and pay at least 1 month @ $16 a month.

What the fuck are you paying stamps.com for, for $16 a month? The ability to print labels which you can do with paypal for free?
There's been a couple corruption probes so he can't get away with little shit like that anymore. Otherwise, there'd be an aid there sitting on the taxpayers dime.
Yes, but being able to do it with PP (w/o an associated PP payment) is technically just a loophole they might close up at any time. Every other service (besides USPS Click N Ship) charges a monthly fee as far as I know.

Good thing they almost have a cure.

This essay is going pretty slow. I started to write the opening sentence and I heard a crash in the garage. Went and looked and one of the springs somehow popped off of the garage door opener. Lucky noone was in there(or no cars for that matter), because that would've fucked some shit up. I spent 10 minutes making sure it wouldn't open if someone pushed the button because, in that case, one side would lift and the other wouldn't. That, plus about 5 phone calls.
No iPhone for me DMK. It's very pretty, but I won't spend a PS3 to get it.

And this just in:

Steve Jobs has just given EVERY Apple employee an 8GB iPhone, free.
Every? Including the lowly apple store cashiers?

Oh and you really need to buy some bubble mailers from Staples or something if you don't mail enough stuff to make buying 50-100 from an online place worth your while. The USPS rapes you on the price of mailing supplies at the PO, plus those things are heavier (and less protection to boot IMO) than a bubble mailer.
people lose phones and get them stolen. What a massive bitch that'll be when it happens the first time, here in a like 2 minutes
Most people get phone insurance on their expensive phones.

Every? Including the lowly apple store cashiers?
Not sure subs. I've read that, and some Apple employees are confirming it.
How lucky to be an Apple cashier if so.

Surely making your own bubble mailers would be more cost efficient than even the bulkiest of purchases.

A single sheet of bubble wrap cost a few pennies and a properly sized envelope costs less than a cent.

I must be the only one on the OTT who doesn't get why people are acting like the iPhone is some revelation. There already are phones with mp3 playback, and while I love the touch screen on my DS it doesn't for me work with a cellphone. And last time I checked an cellphone should be for making phonecalls.

What's funny is that while Apple is giving their employees for free, AT&T is NOT allowing employee discounts on the phone, or the service plan.

We anticipate overwhelming customer demand for the iPhone, giving us a unique and powerful opportunity to attract customers from our competitors, and we need to focus all our resources on meeting that demand.

This is expected to drive growth, which benefits us all. For that reason, we will not offer employee discounts of any kind on the iPhone, nor will there be any concession on the rate plans used with this device. This applies to all employees at all levels.

Employees who choose to buy the iPhone must purchase it at the consumer price and must use it on a regular, undiscounted, consumer rate plan. An employee who buys and activates the iPhone will lose his/her employee rate or discount. The iPhone must be activated on a consumer rate plan.

Once you see the capabilities of the iPhone and the rate plans we will offer, we think you'll agree it provides all customers, including employees, with fair value for an outstanding product.

And yes, EVERY Apple employee is getting one.
Apple Store cashiers, janitors, and cafeteria folk too.
And yes, EVERY Apple employee is getting one.

Hopefully by this time tomorrow I will be in/close to Minnesota.

I am dreading the drive, but luckily I am going to take anything and everything I can think of to keep me occupied in the car.

Probably not since the ultimate goal of giving them away is the advertising.

I assume they are using it for publicity, to have it be seen

edit: damn, beat me by a few seconds
There is PHONE INSURANCE?

Haha, yeah. Been around for a few years now.
Hehe, that really made me laugh.

Much more time consuming and it looks less professional than using a real #0 bubble mailer.

I can get 100 mailers for just over $20 shipped.

Best I can get a roll of ~100' bubble wrap is right around $20 shipped. (Or I think Staples sells it for $20.) You use a single (one foot) piece per and it's barely less just for the wrap. Two sheets and you're paying more.

But if you have a source for cheaper bubble wrap, let me know. My roll is getting low.

Hmm.

Turns out a plan with T Mobile with a Sidekick would only run like $60 a month.

Too bad the damn phone is $200.

It also said to get "myfaves" thing requires a 2 year contract, and I'm already with T Mobile. :[

Screw you, Rocko, my reviews are hot fire.

The live CAGCasts need to stop. Bring it back to Cheapy and Wombat exclusively, goddammit.
Screw you, Rocko, my reviews are hot fire screaming damnation and hellfire about the sins of improper firearm portrayal.
Fix'd.

The new Sidekick ID's are only $99.

Ha, you should start a site with reviews of movie/tv/general media on how realistic they deal with firearms.

Then in a few years you'll be a recognized expert and you can charge 6 figures to be a consultant on big budget movies.

Hey Shrike, here's a speed test people are doing with their EDGE connection on the supposed 'upgraded' towers (dubbed: Fine EDGE)

I bet they could sell the iPhone for more than $600 though .
The new Sidekick ID's are only $99.
Oh? I didn't see that. I was looking at the Sidekick 3.

I'm currently under Tmobile cotnract for a little over a year left... I'm wondering if I can sign another 2 year contract to get whatever requires the 2 year... although I don't think it works that way.

Watching Escape from New York in HD right now.

A plane smashes into a Manhattan skyscraper in the opening scenes. (This was made pre 911 of course.)

Checked out the Sidekick iD.

$100 cheaper than Sidekick 3, but no bluetooth, mp3 player, or camera. :whistle2:k

No EDGE service either, whatever the fuck that is.

I dunno if those features are worth $100 extra though. But it's all a no-go if I can't get the contract-required features since I'm already in a contract. Opinions/thoughts/facts on that anyone?
I had an idea in mind myself but if you want to go for it... then go for it. :D
Well if you like yours you can have it. Mine isn't topical or anything so it will keep.
