Damn Rocko, now I have to go buy Rocket Slime.
You sound like you're having a lot of fun with that.
I'm not sure why everyone's raving over it. The game was fun, I admit that. But it lost it's appeal pretty quick (which makes it a good thing the game was short). Overall it's just a simple game with only one simple attack and some tank battles that get pretty long towards the end (but are definitely the most fun part about the game). I woulda given it a 6.5 out of 10 (by my standards, not IGN's standard where 6.5 acutally means 2).

Went to Frys on my lunch to pick up some cheap BD movies, then to a nearby resturant for quick food.

Saw this super nerd there, with a very beautiful girlfriend. They were very touchy feely.

When I say super nerd, I mean he put Rick Moranis to shame.
She was very very nice.

Game came in the mail Rocko!

Looks like the hold up was that the zip was either incorrectly transcribed or illegible as they crossed it out and wrote my zip in pencil beside it.

Got Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin today from another trade, too. :bouncy:

Finally got all the achievements in Double Dragon. Now I just need to cross some of the other games off my list and get 12 out of 12 in them (specifically Turtles, Aegis Wing, and Contra).
Well you don't have to, but you can, and here's why (in case this is considered a spoiler):
At some point you're going to free a slime who opens up a museum, but it won't have anything in it. Just a bunch of blank pedestals. It's meant to house statues of enemies. I think it's if you capture 30 of one enemy, you get a bronze statue. After 50 you get a silver one, and ultimately can get gold. I do not think it makes any difference at all in terms of the "level" of the statue.

However, getting the statue does have one good effect - you can then hire that particular enemy to join your tank army as an ally. Since all your tank allies have different abilities/strengths/speeds, it's good to experiment. Some of the enemies are highly useful - they can go cause havoc in the enemy's tank, act as a gaurd for yours, or fire themselves as ammo. Others might carry ammo for you.

I haven't played in a while, but there's this robot enemy you can find later on, and I think I have him in my army. Dude is brutal. Super fast and strong, he goes over to the enemy tank and kills the enemy commander's allies repeatedly.

So there's a good reason to do it and a miscellaneous reason to do it.
I love that stuff. I guess I'll be working for those golds then. I actually just freed the Museum slime from the third area.

My handwriting blows as it is, and all they had at the PO was a dull sharpie. I probably should have printed it out and taped it.

Ah well, glad to see you got it. Sorry about that.

Ah well, glad to see you got it. Sorry about that.
Highly recommend printing labels, if you can. Much less worry about reading handwriting.

Another tip: Tape over the entire label, so that way, it's less likely to get screwed up in shipment. When I print postage from Paypal, I cover over everything with tape save the DC, because the USPS doesn't like scanning through tape for the DC.
hi OTT
Whats up?

I'm going to knock out another of these essays right quick and finish up my "terms" that are due Monday. That'll leave only another two page essay that should be more than easy to finish by then.

Yeah before I printed all my labels, I had a package go to Washington State en route to an address within 200 miles of me here in Virginia.

Pretty sure I must have written a V (in the VA) that looked like a W. Still you'd think the zip would have prevented that detour.

Luckily with this one the zip as written got it really close to me and they worked out the rest.
Went to Frys on my lunch to pick up some cheap BD movies, then to a nearby resturant for quick food
BD? wtf?

Bondage/Domination?
Honey, I Shrunk the Kids is amazing.
Also, while I was in Frys.

They had a big HD setup and they were showing The Sandlot (which isn't even on HD I believe), but it was playing and they had a big fake baseball field set up in front of it. Watched for a few minutes, ha.

BD? wtf?

Bondage/Domination?
Got plenty of those already. Blu-Ray Disc is what I'm after now.
Still you'd think the zip would have prevented that detour.
I swear that's all the post office goes on until it gets to the sorting location for that area...

I don't have a scale to actually rpint labels, but I shout at least print addresses.

Although I got a thing in the mail from Stamps.com.

Says I insert the CD, create an account (no commitment, no upfront costs)m enter the promo code, and I'll get $45 in postage, a digital scale, and a $5 supplies kit.

So... what's the catch? I'd like to get a scale.

Damn, even that tiny Rick Moranis pic got shriked!
I am SO gonna buy another SDTV off craiglist for $10 in April 2009, just because the prices will be so low.
Too bad it won't get any TV reception.

Yeah, quoting my gif really helped your cause.
I swear that's all the post office goes on until it gets to the sorting location for that area...
Yeah, that's what I thought too. Maybe it got to the proper sorting station and somebody said "Oh this is WA state, the zip must be wrong, send it off."

Ended up taking close to 4 weeks in transit, didn't help things that it was shipped Media Mail. Partly why I try to avoid Media Mail for the most part these days.

Well that and the two things I've had damaged in transit both went media mail. Luckily it was just the box mangled in those cases.
And this helps blu-ray how? I'll be God-damned if I'm buying everything I already have again. DVD+upscaling = HD enough for me. And the PS3 may play Blu-ray, but it also upscales for you too. And that's good enough for me when the price drops enough.
Good thing I didn't really buy DVDs.

People need HD sets to enjoy BD and HD DVD discs fully.
So more HDTVs out there, the more people will get smart and think of ways to take full advantage of them.

I know HD/BD players aren't instant purchases with HD sets, but it gives them more appeal to the standard consumer.

Unconverting is overrated. Really doesn't to much at all.
DVDs look fine. I still watch them.
HD video just looks "su-poib"!

Yeah, quoting my gif really helped your cause.
:)

Obviously it was already Shriked, because the original animation was probably a lion or something.

I'm afraid if I do the stamps.com thing they'll suddenyl be like ZOMG U R STUCK WITH US FOREVER MUAHA.

Unless I read the very very very fine print. :whistle2:k

I just don't see how they can give that shit away and only require like a $5 free trial that's a bitch to cancel. Even though they so no costs... I'm sure there's a few. Decisions, decisions.

Well, off to the beach. beside a few books I'm taking...

* DS/GBA*
Hotel Dusk
Clubhouse Games
Metroid Hunters
Pokemon Pearl
Boktai
Yoshi's Island
Minnish Cap
Fire Emblem

* PSP *
Pirates
Metal Gear Acid
Marvel Trading Game
Spectral Souls.

So I should be good.
The mayor of Philadelphia is third in line for his iPhone.
No wonder we dropped from 5th largst city in the US to 6th yesterday. He's too busy sitting on his ass in the rain.
Doesn't he have aides for that?
There's been a couple corruption probes so he can't get away with little shit like that anymore. Otherwise, there'd be an aid there sitting on the taxpayers dime.

No iPhone for me DMK. It's very pretty, but I won't spend a PS3 to get it.

And this just in:

Steve Jobs has just given EVERY Apple employee an 8GB iPhone, free.
8 gig. Does that mean they come in different sizes?
Yes, like the PS3, there's a $499 and $599 model. 4GB, 8GB.
