UFC 2009: Undisputed - General Discussion and Info - Releases 5/19
How do you pick up and slam your opponent while you are in a standing clinch?
Hold the left bumper and move the right stick in a direction. In the demo Liddell will do different slams based on the direction you hold the right stick, but Rua will always pull gaurd instead of doing a slam.

If you are in a position and aren't sure what you can do from there, pause and check out the actions list.
How do you pick up and slam your opponent while you are in a standing clinch?
From double underhooks, push LB + the right stick away from your opponent
I think Chucks best slams are LB and UP while in the clinch. I love those for some reason :D
That is a fun slam. Only draw back is if shoguns energy wasn't drained he would easily grab my head as I was bent down and fall down, forcing me to tap out.

I was wondering how many fights you guys have played. I understand that not everyone has mentally kept track of records like I have, but after reading an article in which the writer states that he played roughly 200 matches in one day, I feel like I'm way behind.

I downloaded the demo on 4/23 and played a ton the first 5 days or so, but have only gotten to play on 3-4 nights since. I've had 106 fights with the CPU, with the chosen fighter probably being Liddell 60% of the time and Rua 40% of the time. Besides my first 15 fights, all the rest have been on Advanced. I'm 86-20, with probably 14 of those losses coming while playing as Rua. I also played multiplayer for the first time on Saturday and went 10-0.

I feel like I'm pretty good, but my defense is not on par with my offense. And I absolutely hate playing against Liddell. Most of those losses I suffered came via surprise knockouts, wherein the screen never even turned black and white. Just one punch/kick knockouts after I controlled the fight. In fact, I just had 4 such losses in a row tonight, after never losing more than 2 in a row before.

So, how much have you guys played?

I'd say Im probably about 75 fights in. When I got the demo I put it on Advanced and just got my ass handed to me repeatedly as played as Liddell. As I got to know the game better I've gotten to the point where if I'm Liddell I can beat Shogun all the time. I'm just starting to get use to playing as Rua now and just getting to the point where I can start beating Liddell. Ordered the game yesterday off of yf360g and it cant come quick enough. I can't wait to get my caf going.

I played a lot of the demo the first week it was out but lately I haven't played at all. I didn't want to become burned out on the game so I made a conscious decision to not play the demo anymore and wait for the game to come out. I think I made the right call, the game is only 1 week away and I can't wait to play it.
So, how much have you guys played?
About six hours worth. I've been playing on expert after about one hour in when I realized that I could change the difficulty. I normally win 8/10 times.

Fighting as Rua is easy. As far as defense if you're standing and trading with Chuck then that's the first problem. Either clinch with knees or take him down then move to full mount.

I've put in a good 5 hours into the demo and played a majority of my matches as Rua. I've found that focusing on keeping a high guard and counterpunching with body shots gets a good percentage of success against Chuck. The 4 or 5 losses I've had as Shogun have been flash KOs via Superman punches while I wasn't following my main gameplan.

It also goes on to say that there will be 82 fighters (and the 3 tapout dudes) and that the brady guide is wrong in stating that it's 96.
Published advertisements for an upcoming strategy guide produced independently by BradyGames have advertised "complete stats, bios, and strategic analysis" on "all 96 fighters." THQ insisted the final game will have 82 playable fighters, and three bonus playable "UFC-oriented personalities" with the previously reported inclusion of "Mask," "Punkass" and "Skyscrape" from the TapouT crew.
Also keep an eye out for Rampage online
Jackson, who considers himself an avid gamer, said he looks forward to "playing with himself" online. While "Rampage" admitted he still needs to reconnect his Xbox 360 after a recent move, the former light heavyweight champ said he'll be available for matchups via an Xbox Live Gamertag of "RampagexUFCx."

Yeah, if I hadn't already preordered at Gamestop, I'd do that and wait 90 days for the extra fighters. Oh well.

And I saw the classic fights list and Rampage stuff at 411Mania. Pretty awesome.

The list of classic fights is such garbage. Are the requirements for being a classic fight really getting your ass dominated completely by your opponent and losing in horrible fashion?

They have an explination about some of the fights on the community page of the UFC Undisputed website by the developers. I can understand a couple of those, but it still seems like an odd list to me.

No Couture, Guida, Shamrock brothers, Gracie, Frye, etc sort of narrows the selection.

I honestly may forfeit my five bucks at GS and get the game at Best Buy, I will use all of those freebies including the PPV coupon (probably for next Saturday)

Why not cancel the preorder or switch it to something different?

I didn't think they let you cancel preorders and get your money back. As for switching, I can't think of anything else I'd want to preorder. I only buy at GS when they have preorder bonuses or really good trade deals.

That being said... STATS!

I don't agree with the stats. Brock Lesnar was a 91 overall in Smackdown: Here Comes the Pain...so he should be rated at 91 or better in this game.

Maybe if he hadn't gone 5 years between world heavyweight title victories, he'd be rated more highly. No matter... I'll be knocking others... er, myself out with the shooting star press on a nightly basis from May 19th on. HERE COMES THE PAIN!

You can cancer at GS and get your money back. I did it for NHL 09 actually, I pre-ordered it then I said, screw you guys your a bunch of Assholes. So I got my money refunded back. I put my pre order down at Play N Trade where the employees are actually nice and don't care what game your buying lol.

ANYWAYS. I can wait 90 days for DLC content as long as it's free. I can't wait for this AND the league to get started!

Oh shit. I'd better get tested.

Also, I imagined you putting down the money for your preorder and then immediately saying that. and storming out LOL.

I can't wait to get my game, $14.99 movie (probably best of 2008), $10 gift card, and $10 PPV cash. Then 90 days later I'll get two free fighters!

Poor Kyle Bradley. Having to be the Stats Cellar Dweller in not one, but TWO divisions
and where the fuck is clay guida?

In the May 2009 issue of Fight! Magazine, THQ highlighted some of the setbacks they faced during the development of "UFC 2009 UNDISPUTED" and as a result of various clipping issues within the collision detection. They stated that they removed rising UFC star Clay Guida from the roster due to the clipping issues presented by his lengthy hair on his character model and even offered him money to cut it but he refused.
It sure as hell didn't stop them from including shitty hair in the Smackdown games.
It's somehow so discouraging to see Frank Mir rated over Big Nog and CroCop.
It looks odd but, if you break it down by who beat who in the UFC over the past 2 weeks Mir should be the top ranked player.

Mirr's rating is correct he defeated brock and big nog so he is the top heavyweight in the ufc.

I have the distinct urge to make a CAF and retire as soon as possible for amazingly low stats. With that thought, oh man, I would totally rock Joe Son online.
I have the distinct urge to make a CAF and retire as soon as possible for amazingly low stats.
CAG CAF - Pee Wee League!
Does CheapyD remind anyone else of Dana White?
Haha, kind of. Only Cheapy's taller and less buff. That, and he doesn't say "fuck" every other word.

So, to clarify, I do not need to pre-order to get the free shit at Best Buy? The language of the ad suggests that the bonuses are given to all who purchase the game.
i know Mir beat Nog, but still....look at Nog's career man..
This is a ufc game.
ufc or not, mir's career is pretty suspect.

thankfully they'll probably reduce his stats a bunch after he loses.
Dude he is a former champion and is the current interim heavyweight champion after making lesnar tap and knocking big nog out, how is that suspect? You need to stop drinking the haterade.

You do not have to pre-order it to get the free shit. You need to go first thing on Tuesday though so you can have the best selection of UFC DVDs.
this guy at this page has live streaming footage of the full game going right now, looks great
