THIS IS NOT A SIGN UP THREAD.

Same drill as usual...trying to get a count here. I'm really wanting to go back to 32 entrants based on the last tournament, but we'll see. No further info yet, other than it would likely take place around the end of the month, and prizes would be similar (or possibly scaled back a bit) from the last tournament.

THIS TOURNAMENT *MAY* REQUIRE THE PGR3 DECK AVAILABLE ON THE MARKETPLACE. KEEP THIS IN MIND IF YOU ARE VOTING. DO NOT SAY YOU ARE INTERESTED IF YOU ARE UNWILLING TO PURCHASE THE PGR 3 DECK.

Supposedly if you don't have the deck you can still join a game, but then you make everyone else wait while they download it. This means it's an annoyance for those who bothered to download the deck. Haven't decided whether or not it will actually be REQUIRED.

I have provided choices for those of you not interested, but want to vote on something anyway.

*EDIT* - Re: the Uno deck being required...

If all the Uno deck did was change how it looked, I probably wouldn't make it a requirement. It adds a new gameplay element, so it is included and is mandatory.

I respect those who don't want to pay for it (as I've been plenty pissed/refused to buy several XBL ripoff items in the past), but I don't think this falls under that category. After using it, I think it's definitely the best deck in the game. The music isn't annoying, the background changes, and the new card adds an interesting bit of strategy in a game that generally does not require much strategy. If you don't want the deck, fine. Wait for the next tournament.

Any and all bitching about decks and gameplay rules, which have already been seen in this thread despite it being only 1 page long at this writing, will be ignored. Run your own tournament if the rules are disagreeable to you.

I would love to, but would be restricted to weekends only and I don't know if that would be fair or not to the people I'd be matched up with. But, I agree that math is pretty fucking hard

In the past, most of the rounds have given at least one weekend to get your game played.
how much is the pgr3 deck?
100 points ($1.25 if you payed full price for your points). 94 cents if you got in on a 1600 pts. for $15 deal.

cool. I'd play.

why is the PGR3 deck required? is there a difference besides the aesthetics of the deck such as the 35 year anniversary deck?

either way, i'm in :)

Me too, but life's not fair sometimes. If you'd like me to paypal you a measly dollar so you can participate, let me know.

It lets you see the cards of one of the players (your choice), and acts as a wild card to boot. It's a cool "spoiler" card that should help keep games highly contested.

Beat the game afew days ago, love it, buying a 1600 point card soon, so I'm intrested.
I'm in. Matches have to be after 4 PM EST or anytime during the weekend.
basically the same for me
I'd like to join but I didn't do the first two tourny's and have no clue how it works.
It's not that complex. After everyone is entered, I list the matches, the people in those matches get together and play by the rules/gametype I set for that round. The winners move on to the next round where the rules and gametype changes. Keeps going like that. All matches are randomly generated, but for the first round I try to group by time zone as much as possible to keep it easier. After that, there are less people to have to manipulate so it's not as big a deal.
I'm in, the new spoiler card sounds pretty cool. So does it show you the entire hand of the person or just one card?
The entire hand of ONE person, so if you have three people that are down to one or two cards, it's not necessarily a foolproof defense...it may just push the victory on to the next person. Creates a pretty strong weapon if you're in partner mode...for that reason, I probably wouldn't run a partner round with that deck.

You BEAT Uno?! Damn, you're not allowed in, you're too good. What happens at the end? I bet the cards to a little dance while the credits thank Microsoft, Carbonated Games, Honibanyati Shinshokisudamudafuda, and YOU.

Dont put him up against me...
I thought only the host of the game needed to have the PGR pack to play it?
I dunno. That would be strange. If someone can confirm this, I'll make the appropriate change.

ya as long as the host has it then anyone else can join. It's like it downloads it for that user while in that room but once they leave they will have to get it again for a new room. It really is a pain in the ass though as the whole room has to wait through about 40-50 seconds of loading screens until the game starts.

My console is in for repair right now, if I get it back before the next tournament begins, I'm in for sure.

Edit: Looks like my replacement will be back to me on Tuesday.

I'd like to play. I just succumbed to the temptation of uno, as I was trying to wait to get it with the webcam. Alas I bought it last night along with the PGR3 deck.

Consider me in.

I bought the PGR deck tonight and had fun with it. I missed the first two tournaments, so It'd be cool to be in this one. Thanks for continuing these tourneys Kane.
