Buy 2 Get 1 free on all current gen used games starts JUNE 18th. All 3 games have to be for the same system. Something about buying hardware with it??? Specifics of this deal are still questionable.

ACTIVE:

Nintendo DS trade in value = $65. No longer $71.

Not sure when it starts:

Xbox trade in value = $75 when you put it toward an Xbox 360

Still not sure when any of these end.

just picked up:

Pokemon Red
Dragon Warrior Monster 2
Wario Land 2

NES:

N64:
Goldeneye 007

Dreamcast:

and the finale:
Fire Emblem for GBA (not Sacred Stones) for $19.99! Box was a little crushed, but it was Sealed New! Made my day.

Alright I'm done, here's what I came out with:
I hate the gamecrazy near me. I went in there casually and looked around and started chatting with the people. They basically say that they keep all the games in the back so when the 3-$15 does hit they can buy it all for that much cheaper.
Some store are like that - those stores I remember and don't bother to go back to.
I saw the paper today and this sale ends the 31st
The store closest to me said it ended yesterday.
The store closest to me said it ended yesterday.
On the paper it said Sale starts 7/19 and ends 7/31 or until supplies last.

Where the MVP card really kicks in is used 360 games. You save $10 on 360 games at least (as long as they still retail for 60), sometimes 20 (Used FC: I with MVP: $40.49. New FC:I: $59.99). Of course you think the MVP is bad.. you're buying .99 games. It'd save you like.. a dime on each transaction.

As far as used games go, yeah, like the guy said, 90 days. Most GC stores even have a disc buffer and will buff the games out for you. I guess it's YMMV with GC stores, some people have amazing experiences, some have crappy ones.

Is this extension on Classic Plastic YMMV? I stopped in today and they said they weren't doing it. Is there a corporate letter that the employee should have?
Actually gamecrazy has a 90 day return policy on used games
Actually, that's not what's printed on the receipts.

"All sales on used merchendise are final."

=\

Yeah, but they have a 90 day return policy anyway.
No, they have a 90-day DEFECTIVE policy.
...Yeah, why the hell else would you return it?

If you buy something, it works, and it sucks, you lose. Capitalism.

On my receipt it mentions the 90 day return for defects. :)

Well, plenty of people return stuff when it happens to suck, so the distinction between a normal return policy and a return policy that is only for defects is actually pretty important.
Anybody know if this is suppose to be nation-wide still?
It should be, I don't think GameCrazy's are YMMV.
Anybody know if this is suppose to be nation-wide still?
Until July 31st, yes.

Is this extension on Classic Plastic YMMV? I stopped in today and they said they weren't doing it. Is there a corporate letter that the employee should have?

It is NOT YMMV. There should be a piece of paper that informs them of the sale and has a barcode for them to scan.

I went in today...the deal was going on but I didn't see anything I wanted. They had Bubble Bobble (NES) in their system but the guy couldn't find it. An employee probably had it stashed. It only sells for $7.99 normally, so not a huge savings...but I'd buy it at $5 or $8.

I did pick up about 35 Genesis carts, all in the $1.99 range, so they didn't qualify for the sale. I just grabbed all the non-sport games I'd never played before that sounded halfway interesting. Maybe I'll actually use my Nomad now.

I'll head in again tomorrow after work. I had a feeling the guy didn't know anything (he seemed like he didn't want to be there). There were a few games that caught my eye such as Time Crisis (PSX), Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 (GB), and some others.

The back of the reciept i got at gamecrazy said "ALL USED PRODUCT SALES ARE FINAL" So i am assuming you cant return a used product at all no matter what. I sure hope they test and clean everything before selling it with that policy in place, just knowing that i would never buy used stuff from there because you never know (for 1$ i really dont care though). I am guessing if you tried to return a used item there because it didnt work they would point to the back of your transaction reciept and say "ALL USED PRODUCT SALES ARE FINAL".

ok after that there is a defective product speech this is typed right from the gamecrazy reciept:

"If a new product is defective you may exchange it for the identical item. Store credit will be issued if the item is not in stock. After 7 days refer to the manufacturer's warrenty. We will replace a defective used product within 90 days with proof of purchase. If the identical item is not in stock, we will issue store credit. We will not replace or provide store credit for products damaged by misuse or abuse, normal wear and tear, or failure to follow use and care instructions."

Sounds like gamecrazy is a bit confused about their own return policy, as first they say all used product sales are final, then they say they take it back within 90 days if you have a reciept, but only if it doesnt have signs of normal wear and tear, misuse or abuse or if you didnt follow the care instructions...

I would take this as YMMV on returns of used items, since in one section it says you can return them, and one section it says you can't, this could definitly cause problems if you run across one of those irate employees who isnt familiar with store policy or someone who just doesnt want to take your return for whatever reason.

I've returned used games that don't work with no problem. If they don't have another one, they just credit my account.

Does anyone know if GameCrazy's are getting any new shipments of games during the sale here? I called last week to try and find a few games that I wanted. If they are getting shipments, I might call again, but I don't want to waste my time if there is pretty much no shot that they'll have them.

Not really. If they sell you a defective product, they take it back. Period. I've never heard of anyone having a problem with Game Crazy taking back a defective game. Hell, I've returned games that weren't defective with no problem. Last sale I accidentally bought a disc-only PSX game and returned it for store credit since I only collect complete games.

If you ever had a problem with an employee, all it would take is a quick call to the customer service line, then hand the phone to the employee. They'd get their ass chewed out and you'd get your store credit.

Thats a good idea, ebgames has one of those customer service lines too and a complaint line on the gamestop website as well (they even advertise both at the end of the reciept), i just wish they had this stuff established back in january when i actually had a problem with one employee. However i have never had a problem at the store i go to and i just avoid the ebgames that i had a problem at from now on.

That's an awesome score on the Chrono Trigger cranguy, but does that mean the sale is still going on. I thought it ended July 31.

I was at 2 Game Crazy's yesterday and both of them still had the sale on, so I grabbed some sweet games at each. A few people above said it's YMMV, so I guess it's on a per-store basis?

They need to drop the games to 3 for $10 and then 4 for $10 and I'll buy a bunch more. Most of the stuff left isn't worth $5 but it's not worthless either.

Most of the stuff left at my stores are actually priced at less than 4.99

The best thing I've been able to find at this sale is Super Mario RPG, so there's not really much left in terms of classic plastic.

I would like to pick up Pokemon Crystal, but the only one I stumbled upon had a mangled sticker ;-;

GC employee told me today That Classic Plastic 3for15 starts again this week Sun/Mon 9/3, 9/4. In case any of your stores have stopped it seems mine is coming back again.

At my local GC, there's a beat up Secrets of Evermore for the SNES for $4.99, but I can't find another 2 worth half its value to make a good 3 for $10 deal.
