CLASSIC PLASTIC STARTS JUNE 19TH. 3 dc/gen/snes/nes/gb/gbc/psone games for 15 dollars.

Buy 2 Get 1 free on all current gen used games starts JUNE 18th. All 3 games have to be for the same system. Something about buying hardware with it??? Specifics of this deal are still questionable.

ACTIVE:

Nintendo DS trade in value = $65. No longer $71.

Not sure when it starts:

Xbox trade in value = $75 when you put it toward an Xbox 360

Still not sure when any of these end.

Dang. I went to GC today and just glanced at the games, not really looking for anything in particular. Nothing really caught my eye, but I did want to look for Banjo kazooie and the sequel. I just forgot.

I did see Sniper Elite for Xbox and Final Fantasy Tactics: Advance there though. I'll probably go back for FFT:A.
Well, in theory they could get a used copy at some point. But it's surprising they never got a new copy.
game crazy also never got fable: the lost chapters and a few other games for some reason. although, the games are in the system.
Make sure to schmooze with the manager for a long time before doing that and he or she is cool with you doing that.

Otherwise, you're working really hard on your lifetime ban from that store.
Umm...I was being sarcastic. I have better things to do than hang out in video game stores. I go to Game Crazy about 3 times a year for about 15 minutes per trip. Pretty much only for the classic plastic sale as their prices suck otherwise.

How do their prices suck? They always seem to be cheaper than GS/EB

Great sale. Today I picked up,

Dead or Alive 2 (DC)--Disc and Manual only
Soul Calibur 2 (DC)--Disc only
Record of Lodoss War (DC)--Disc only

EDIT: Anyone know the return/exchange policy for Gamecrazy? My DOA 2 disc doesn't load up and I wanted to exchange it for another game.

you have 90 days to take it back. Just dont lose the reciept. first they try to "buff" it or find anther copy. Then if it still doesnt work, they will give you credit back for another game.

Okay, my goal is to limit myself to only 1 game purchase next month...

Picked up
Shining Force 2 (GEN)
Phantasy Star 3...or was it 4...the bag is like 4 feet away from me and I don't feel like getting up and checking (GEN)
The Addams Family (NES)

Dragon Warrior 3 (GB)
TMNT 3 (GB)
Wing Commander 3 (PS)

These were complete impulse buys, lol. The second store didn't have anything but I didn't feel like leaving emptyhanded after I drove 45 minutes to get there...

the employee actually buffed all the games before he sold them to me. so with a receipt I'd only get store credit back?
How do their prices suck? They always seem to be cheaper than GS/EB
I buy most of my used games at Gamerush. EB/GS prices suck too. Gamerush has no clue when it comes to pricing, so you can find rare games there for dirt cheap. Plus, they give insanely high trade-in prices for crappy games and are willing to match the trade-in prices of the other stores.
I wonder if you can trade in NES and SNES games?
Some. I traded in two NES games and three PS1 games for $2.57. So don't expect to get much more than quarter for them. Some they don't take at all.

Okay, I have to recant a little of what I said in my previous post about not finding anything at GameCrazy. I went in today looking to see what Dreamcast stuff they had. Turns out there was NOTHING in the case (bummer). However, I happened to glance over at a shelf behind the counter and noticed a whole bunch of DC games (most without inserts/manuals). The clerk said their DC stuff just doesn't do well so they put it there.

Turns out I found a complete copy of Looney Tunes Space Race, The House of the Dead 2 and Test Drive Le Mans. Picked em up for $15. :} I had a friend looking for HotD2 and let him have it for what I paid. I kept LTSR for myself and plan to sell off TD:LM in a group of stuff on ebay. Seeing as LTSR runs $15 to $20 on ebay, I figured getting it for $5 wasn't a bad deal. :}

Are these worth anything?

Record of Lodoss War (DC, Disc Only)
The New Tetris (N64, Cart Only)
Time Crisis: Project Titan (PSX, Complete)

The last one is going into my collection. What about the first two?

The completed auction search on Ebay is your friend.

Lodoss War (disc only) - No...complete copies run $15-20. On a disc only copy you probably wouldn't break even on the $5 you spent.

New Tetris - $20, this is actually one of the rarer N64 games. The REALLY hard Tetris game to find is Magical Tetris Challenge, although it's actually cheaper on Ebay ($10 range). It's also more fun than New Tetris and stars Disney characters, so I don't really understand the pricing. I haven't actually ever seen a copy in the wild...but that's Ebay for you.

Time Crisis - It's a crap shoot as it sells for anywhere from $5-15. If it's a really nice copy you might make $5 profit.
A good day for me:

Grandia 2 (DC/complete/mint)
LoZ: Both Oracles
Dragon Warrior III (GBC)
Crystalis (GBC)
Zelda DX
Actraiser II
Paper Mario (N64)
Dragon Warrior IV (NES)

And Wizardry (NES) for 1.79

Also hit up a Craigslist special:

PSO I+II, Ocarina of Time Collectors Edition, Super Metroid + Castlevania IV for $15....

Thank god this runs an entire week....lots of driving ahead :)
I'm amazed that Dragon Warrior IV wasn't snagged by the employees. Sounds like you got some fantastic finds.

After scouring most of the local stores, I found:

PSX:
Final Fantasy VIII
RPG Maker

Gameboy + GB Color:
Dragon Warrior I+II
Dragon Warrior III
Pokemon Silver
LOZ Oracle of the Seasons
Harvest Moon 1 + 2
Wario Land 3
If you guys haven't heard yet, 3 for 15, at least in my area, returned today. There's no end time listed.
For real? Man, I'm so drained from this last one.
If you guys haven't heard yet, 3 for 15, at least in my area, returned today. There's no end time listed.
I only took advantage of one of these and the place is hardly cleared out.

I'll call around. Thanks for the update!

I drove by a Game Crazy today...didn't go in though...would have stopped by to confirm if I'd seen this sooner. Doubt if there's anything new there since I wiped them out a few weeks back though.

I can confirm this. I just went to the local Gamecrazy up by work and picked up:

Super Mario 64
Super Smash Bros
Zelda: Majora's Mask
Snowboard Kids 2
Shadowgate 64
South Park Rally

all for $30.

That's crazy...they must really want to get rid of this stuff...usually the 3 for $15 is several months apart. Maybe they'll do a 3 for $10 next...that was rumored a while back.

And then if they want to get rid of the REALLY crappy games, a 3 for $5 would probably wipe out the rest of the classic systems. It's sad to see another chain get out of the classic plastic business. Once GC is gone that will just leave the mom and pop stores and Ebay. I may have to start my own vintage video game store here in Indianapolis.

a general question about game crazy's:

do they usually have games like the NES mario's and gold zelda's, and SNES mario's? Or does it depend on the store?

Psincubus,

Definitely, it'll depend store to store. That being said, my Gamecrazy (Westland, MI) seems to have a very nice set of older games (honestly, it's the best chain store for older games). I'm not sure of the NES lineup (though, I have seen Zelda and Mario there before), but they seem to have many of the poplular games for older consoles (and their fair share of junk). So, it's worth a look.

Looks like the classic plastic might be taking more money out of my pocket. I might be adding some N64 games to my collection. Just with 4pm would hurry up and get here so I can get to the store before going home for the day.

Picked up some today, going tommorow and Saturday to three more stores.

N64:
Quest 64
F-Zero X
BattleTanx
Goldeneye 007
GEN:
Road Rash
NES:
Burgertime
Kirby's Adventure
PS:
Driver 2
Legend of Dragoon

picked up some GB games, they had nothing else good.

I got:
Super Mario Land
Wario Land
Wario Land 3
Kirby Tilt n' Tumble
Kirby Dreamland
Dragon Warrior Monsters

I wish there was another gamecrazy around here!!

Against my better judgment, I decided to check this deal out and ended up with

NIGHTS... into dreams
D2
Omikron: The Nomad Soul

and I'd say it was worth the $15 for the first two alone.

Omikron is my all time fave DC game - and not just because I'm a David Bowie fan! Guess I can go to the one close to my house once more. I went to 17 diff stores for the recent classic sale - just about all of the ones in my area.

I hate the gamecrazy near me. I went in there casually and looked around and started chatting with the people. They basically say that they keep all the games in the back so when the 3-$15 does hit they can buy it all for that much cheaper.

Good to hear. I was always interested in it. The Bowie connection certainly doesn't hurt.

the gamecrazy i went to, the guy said all the good games were bought in the last sale. Most people just come in and buy the ones with the highest price tag, and don't even care what games they are buying. pretty annoying considering i want the games to play.

psincubus,

That's pretty much the ebay effect. People just assume (and usually correctly) that they can turn those $30 in games (that they paid $15 for), into a profit. It's why ebay is a blessing and a curse. It's nice to be able to find any game that you want, if your willing to pay. But, it makes finding discounts harder.

So, I went to a couple of Gamecrazy's yesterday, got 3 games

N54
Mario Kart 64
Banjo Kazooie
Mario Golf

I wanted Mario Kart 64 for awhile. I probably would have eventually broke down and paid $15 for it by itself. Banjo is easily worth $5, so Mario Golf will be a toss up.

Last Sunday, my local Gamecrazy's had 2 copies of Super Smash Bros. I was really hoping for that game. But, they didn't have it (only 3 within legitmate driving distance to me here, and none of them had Super Smash Bros. So, something to pick up for the next classic plastic.

I went into a gamecrazy to buy a gamegear game yesterday and it was HORRIBLE, not only did they try to get me to apply there for a job (how desperate is that??), they did their usual speal about begging me to sign up for an MVP card when i dont even live close enough to a gamecrazy to make it worth my time. Needless to say i am GLAD i do not have a gamecrazy in my immediate city, the only reason i shop at gamecrazy is the .99 cent gamegear games, thats literatly the only thing i have bought at those stores. Ill stick with the ebgames closest to my house, they have incredible service and they dont pester me to buy things i dont need and they dont pester me to try and get a job there!

Most of the games for this classic plastic sale in that store were so dirtied and stickered up that i would not even bother buying them (it would cost me more in goo gone and cleaning supplies and TIME to clean these than the price of the game!), not even for 5$ (it looked like most were previous rentals), i can get them at yard sales cheaper and sometimes even BETTER condition, there were no good titles at all either.

Not to mention their policy on all used game sales are final, that is ridiculous, at least ebgames lets me return any used product that does not work without hassle, i would never buy a used game at gamecrazy for more than 0.99 with that policy in place.

Actually gamecrazy has a 90 day return policy on used games

yep 90 days. And if you buy alot of used games the mvp card is worth it. I own all of them. ebgames, gamestop, and gamecrazy. too bad gamestop and ebgames use both.
