Sorry, but no good game trading promos this time in marketing. For those of you waiting to get rid of a system, now is the time to do it for some extra credit.

Trade Values according to the Wiki.
(Green means it is starting on 10/16)
(White is a continuation from last marketing period)
 (Red means it is ending on 10/15)

Trade Promos

Promo: "Trade in your Xbox, PS2, Gamecube, or Xbox 360 and get $20 extra in credit" Systems must be fully functional and have all hook-ups with the controller. This deal does not get extra bonuses.

Promo: "Trade in your old Xbox and get $80 credit towards an Xbox 360 console."
This works on both the Pro package and the core system.

"Power Trade Offer" Trade any games towards the reservation or purchase of the following 4 games, receive and extra 20% trade credit (excluding hardware).
- Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Gamecube or Wii versions)
- Gears of War (Regular or Collectors)
- Final Fantasy XII (Regular or Collectors)
- All other Titles get a 10% increase when all credit applied to preorder

Promo: "Extra $10 trade-in credit with the trade-in of 3 PS2, XBOX, GC, DS or PSP games"
Customers trading in 3 PS2, XBOX, GC, DS or PSP games receive an extra $10 trade credit. Customers can mix formats. For example, 2 PS2 games and 1 XBOX game can receive the total extra $10. 2006 and earlier sports, all wrestling and all demo discs are still excluded from this offer. THIS IS STACKABLE WITH THE EDGE/GAMESTOP CARD.

Promo Extended: "Get any new or used XB360 game for $9.99 when you trade-in 2 Xbox 360 Games" Trade exclusions include all 2006 and older sports titles, Kameo, Perfect Dark Zero, King Kong, Project Gotham 3, Ridge Racer 6, Outfit & Amped 3. Offer good on any XB360 game $59.99 or less.

Events your store may be doing... Call ahead of time to make sure.

Event: "Gears of War Preview" Select stores will be staying open late on 10-21 in order to show off Gears of War for the Xbox 360. The showing will start at 9 PM and last approximately 15-20 minutes from what I can tell.

Event: "Final Fantasy XII Costume Contest & Midnight Opening" Some stores may end up doing a costume contest for the release of Final Fantasy XII. Participants may dress up as any Final Fantasy character of their choosing (Prizes may be available, although I'm not to sure about it). Some stores may also be participating in a midnight opening for Final Fantasy XII.

How's this for deal combos: I was in to fix my missing Edge credit and the guy in front of me had traded in several Xbox 360 games. He got the Trade 2 get a new game for $9.99, the 30% preorder bonus, the $10/3, and the Edge card. Got buttloads of credit :D.

Anyway, I merely combined $10/3 with the 20% preorder deal (which he said applies to all Wii accessories) - so I added the Nunchuck to my Wii haul. I had held off on it yesterday and just got an extra Wiimote (and was glad I did). I also got 10% Edge, plus the $5 or so of missing Edge credit from yesterday.

YES, and that is what it does NOT say on mine...
Though when I add it all up, it appears that he gave me enough in bonus to cover it anyway - but I don't think he was trying to do that. I still should have gotten another $5 in bonus credit from the Edge card.

I can't promise it still works, but I'm pretty sure you could get your credit put onto a gift card and then use the gift card online.

That's nothing. It's worse if you get pukey playing FPS games and have been making yourself try out every one of those previously sealed games for the past two days... just to get some worth out of them.

The upside is finally getting rid of them and replacing them with anything but FPS's at roughly the same cost. Headspin hurl fakeouts in the name of a being a CAG. w00t!

(I did think about popping a Dramamine, but that would have been overkill.)

After bonus and edge card I ended up with 203.71, which I proceeded to spend on a used complete RE4 Premium and complete Marvel vs Capcom 2 PS2 which I found in the same store. They still had another RE4 premium, MvC2 PS2, 2 MvC2 XB, Firefighter FD18, and a handful of other uncommon games... so odd to find that many valuable games in the same store. Anyway, I may do it again tomorrow at different stores for at least a couple hours - need to get some money towards the ps3.

Unless there is some bonus for trading it in the GC only gets 20 bucks from Gamestop since the last time I try to trade my in a few months back.

I think it gets $25 now, plus if you look at the updated original post there is going to be a +$20 trade-in on systems for a bit. So we might be able to score $45 bucks for it. Seems weak, but I guess as long as you have a wii.... man, I can't decide. It'd be hard to let go of that machine.

You would be correct my friend. I didn't read the original post until after your post but makes since to trade it in now with that deal if you are getting a Wii anyways.
 
Man, Ive got a bunch of games in the mail that I want to trade in. Im not going to get them by the 15th to get the extra $10 bucks per 3.

I do have a PS2 (Slim), Xbox and GC on the way that I will use for the $20 extra credit. Thanks for keeping this Updated!
 
Sweet. I was getting ready to list the cube on ebay. $45 + 20% towards Gears = $54 for a used GC? Screw ebay, that is well worth it, IMO.

Trade promos don't work with this offer. And I believe they just upped the trade values of the cubes to $30 yesterday.
 
I have a mint "Halo" edition X-Box that is complete with box should I just E-Bay that or hold onto it for the extra $20.00 in credit from EB/Gamestop?

You'd get twice as much on eBay as you would in credit at EBStop.

i know the manager near my gamestop is literally a bitch so i wanna make sure if that is legal to all gamestops..

So for trading in consoles...you need the system itself, A/V and Power cables, and a controller for it to be complete correct?

Good question, I've traded in systems with all of that save the AV and they took it. I want to trade in as little as possible to cause I need extra cables later (which I did when I traded before).

Yes. I traded in my X-box and GC and that's what they needed.

Sucked as I had to buy a GC A/V cable as all I had was the S-video cable and they wouldn't take the system with just it (though they did buy the cable for a buck or two).
 
yea, im thinking ill trade in the GC if i can get $50 for it...then ill sell the component video cable elsewhere.

I just did this very thing at my local GS. In fact, I think the dude screwed up and gave me an extra 20% for everything, not just the portion for the pre-order. I traded in 9 Xbox games for $67.5 after 3x$10 bonus, and I ended up with $81 in credit after the extra 20% for Gears. Oh well, fully paid GoW and the rest on Splinter Cell!

The clerk didn't give me the 20% preorder credit towards FF-XII, quoting the computer wouldn't let him (he seemed he did try for a good while, then proceed to read the fine print that said not combinable with other offers, etc). So I didn't get the preorder extra credit, except on the NFL Streets 2 since it wasn't part of the $10/3.

Anyway, $46 credit for the cost of $12, making my FF-XII much cheaper. Not bad.
 
Darn it. The 15th got here fast. I'm too lazy to drive to EB because of the football games that are on...I know that the promo period ends today, and that there isn't any sign of this promo coming around again in the immediate future....

But we are sure to have a promo like this again, right? Sometime in the next few months? What are your thoughts?
 
I traded 21 games that my brother had accumulated and just didn't want anymore. He said he wanted to get at least $50 for them all, and I could keep the rest of the money. I ended up bringing back $60 for him and keeping $130 for myself. I got over $190 for entire lot. Not bad.
 
I have to get over to EB today to trade in a few games before the promo runs out. I have all the games complete with cases and manuals, but I'm missing just the cover art/insert on a couple of them. Will they knock any cash off for that?

Nope, all you really need is the game and they will take it no problem.

edit: by the way, is the wiki up to date for the most part? I noticed KH2 still shows a $30 trade in value, but I posted I only got $15 for it a week ago.

Yes, I was told in two separate stores (one GS and one EB) that the policy is one copy of a title only. The EB took them anyway (manager did the trade), and earlier that week the same GB (different clerk, possibly the manager) also took multiples without any comment at all.
