Urban Dead - The Official Cheap Ass Survivor Thread

If anyone is still over by the Tompson mall - 130+ zeds just broke in the NE corner. Ugly ugly sight to see 70 survivors get taken out in under 10 minutes. I strolled in to try a dna scan for the xp and got hit 5 times instantly.

That's what I get for waiting an extra day to farm for FAK's... time to head towards the rest of you guys.
I got one of the zombies in the church down to 25 HP.
Just killed him with a fireaxe and dumped him. Gonna cade it up again and hope the two last zeds get killed later tonight.
Dammit. This is a time to stock up, not use up!
I didn't have much to begin with, i just don't like a small army building next to us.
Anyone know that barricade is like at St Ferreol's Hospital?
I say screw that cluster of hospitals east. It takes too much AP to find an entry point. Head west into the next 'burb and you can free run into a powered hospital. From there, you can free run in to a powered PD as well. Just got back from both the hospital and PD and made out well with searches tonight.

Geno Cidal if you read this now might be a good time to vacate the hospital near there.

At the meeting place now, have a couple FAKs and sryinge if anyone needs a revive i could do one tomorrow.

This is ridiculous, survivors need some new weapons or abilities. Zombies are just too damn powerful, almost all of the malls in Malton have been taken over.

I think their power is that they're so well organized it seems. If some of the larger humans groups could get their acts together we might have a chance.

In short - we are fucked.

Well, zed teamwork doesn't seem so critical. It's basically "gang rape these guys" right? Usually going for high priority buildings. For survivors, everyone is doing their own thing because it's not as simple as kill this or that. We need some kind of savior, maybe in the form of vehicles or massive/effective weapons, or some way to thwart or slow down the zed onslaught. It's almost time to lift our asses in the air to take it from behind full force.

BTW, did anyone want to check out of this museum? I really don't see anywhere else to run to. We are FUBAR.

I wish the resource buildings were closer. Wasting 5+ AP just to get there sucks. I know malls are targets for zombies, but they kick ass at stocking supplies/weapons.

Finally found a toolbox, in the powered auto repair shop 2 blocks South. Gotta' love the encumbrance!

4:00 in the a.m. (EST) and all is well at the current HQ.
hmm people are reporting that there are over 200 zeds in the Thompson Mall
Actually to be more specific, it's:

NE: 41
NW: 143

SE: 0
SW: 91

What survivors really need is something that puts a zed down for a longer period of time when they are killed. There is absolutely no benefit to wasting a ton of AP to kill a zed only to have them stand back up, fully healed, after using at most 6 AP.

I'm sure there are a couple ways to make the system more fair, but two things that come to my mind are:

1) Create another skill tier under Headshot that really puts a zed down for a long time. Something like "Brain Splatter." Make it cost a ton of XP to acquire, so only higher end characters can get it at first. I don't know exactly how it would work but either it would require a zed to use a shit ton of AP to stand back up or it would just incapacitate them for a period of time

2) Make it so zombies cannot stand back up on their own. Create a system similar to a survivor dying where someone else has to intervene for a zombie to stand back up. Maybe it requires another zombie to help the dead zombie back up for 10 AP (same AP spent as using a revivification syringe.)

As it currently stands, it is just a numbers game. Once there are enough zeds in the game, there is literally nothing we can do.

Ok, tonight someone needs to go behind enemy lines and find us a low-priority building to stay in. The zeds are breathing down our necks.

Well lockettside is now zed territory according to the map. I don't know how earletown and dulston have managed to stay clear in the north. Things are getting ridiculous, without some sort of buff, we're not going to be able to put up a decent fight.

one trick ive used tht works is to stay in ruined buildings. i mainly do it if im low on ap or trying to save ap up before i try somthing but it works.

Alright guys, I just went over to the Vivian Motel and killed a Zed. I now have 128 XP points. What should I get next:

Hand to Hand Combat, which will make me even more of a killing machine with my axe.

Firearms Training, this will make that Pistol I have a bit more useful.

Diagnosis, I don't have any FAK's ATM, but it is a useful skill.

Construction, I can help out by barricading buildings.

Radio Operation, I can get this and then try and setup a permanent CAG Radio Station.

I think i understand why we're getting our asses handed to us, it's because humans seem to sabotage themselves. Case in point- St. Jeremy's is heavily barricaded and i can't find a way into any PD, thus causing me to waste AP looking for another way.

Edit: Searching for FAKs in hospitals is useless.

Well i won't be able too do any scouting. I've been trying to stock up on supplies with little luck. I've spent over 10 AP searching a hospital with nothing to show for it. Without a mall it's really hard to get a good amount of supplies.

hey whoever it is thats playing as the ghost of taco bell im in the same building as you so if it should fall or something if you can send me a pm here and let me know.

Don't mean to be offensive, but I had to reread that sentence a couple times to get it. Wouldn't hurt to use some punctuation. I also second hand to hand combat for you darth, though you most likely have gotten it already.

Damn, I want some Taco Bell now...

Anyone know of the status of Tompson and Marvin mall?

Well, they're starting to creep from the NW. Several zeds inside the NT building (16 inside accord. to UDBrain). That would be a good place to start hacking at.

I too agree with the "hand-to-hand Budge" vote.
I would follow it up with construction next.
Jake, I feel your frustration with futile searching.
I just got bent over by the RNG; 18ap = 1 pistol clip & 1 shotgun shell in a powered pd.

I also agree that ud is a numbers game, too many zeds = game over.
A war of attrition is a war that the humans will always lose, & of course PK's don't help matters.
Maybe that's the way it is intended though, maybe the zombies are supposed to win.
That's what a zombie apocalypse is all about, the inevitable demise of the survivors.
