Urban Dead - The Official Cheap Ass Survivor Thread

New HQ info. received, I will proceed directly there as soon as I'm able. I believe that this is a good move and look foward to reaching the group.

To be honest, I'd have been cool with going even further to get to a green suburb. This current location has its advantages and its disadvantages...

The disadvantages being the zombies...

I would vote retreating for now, especially since the location has turned into a red zone. But, hey, I'm a newbie. It's getting pretty scary though.

I've (CAGJJ) joined the ranks over at Kenefie after hiding out for a bit at St. Luke's. A kind soul healed me, and though I can't do much for barricading, I'm armed and ready to fight back.

Standing in the pack of zombies outside the new temp HQ... figures that the one day I don't get a chance to check midday a ton of shit goes down.

Our new HQ has been breached. A lone zombie is inside, but I only have two AP. Can't run or attack. I should've just stayed at saints row =/

EDIT: It's already been mentioned twice in the thread, so I guess it doesn't need to be a secret. We're HQing @ Kenefie Lane PD in Chudleyton. Might be safer elsewhere, though.

Dammit, guys. Sending out mass PMs takes a while, especially on a 56k. Remember the whole Adam Carolla thing? He was a PKer who, as far as we can tell, followed us from suburb to suburb by reading the boards.

I expected it to get breached tonight. Things should go well once we mass up there and are able to defend it properly. We've got the tools to repair and the numbers to hold the place, unless more zombies/PKers arrive. Don't worry.

What skill should i get next? I have full military skills and shopping/bargain hunting. I was thinking construction so i can help cade.

Shit, you needed to ask that?

Well considering that we seem to be getting our asses handed to us i thought first aid might help too, but construction it is. Now i need some tools.

Yeah, we know that. Unless more gather around us, I don't think there are enough zeds here to stop a coordinated push by us. Don't worry too much about it.

Now. Anyone have a generator?

EDIT: Kenefie's fine now.

*folds arms, leans against wall, puffs on a cigar*

What was I saying, again?

EDIT: That's not to say that this guy wasn't here already, but still. I'll take it up with the guy's clan.

I always seem to be the first to be PKed when hitting a new area. Oh well, unless we get an explanation, I'll hunt the fucker down.

Well, checked my consumer this morning. The MOB and friends are spreading like wildfire. I don't think Darvall is a very safe place any more. Again, I would vote retreating to a safer suburb and recollect.

edit: I'm just going to trash my consumer for now. I'll be on my cop and level up in the safer areas. And head up to help once I get a fair enough amount of levels, which will probably be a week and a half or so. Good luck on the front lines comrades.
Uh?

You guys really need to not discuss where we're going.
Oops.

In my defense, I figured having a wiki page kind of negated any drawbacks the board would have - the new headquarters isn't up there yet, but the old one definitely was.

As I believe, all the Wiki page says in that we were in Darvall Heights. At the very worst, it just mentioned Saint's Row (which I'm sure a lot of UD players would have to look up, as it's not a common term).

for those of you still in davrell you can head south to east becktown a couple of spaces and you can find a hospital not too far if you have at least 9 or 10 ap and to the weast you can find 2 hospitals in the nearby town. for me im gonna save ap get some faks head west and load up on ammo and then go back and do some killin and exp gainin......as long as i dont get killed again.

Also, someone nab a generator for us up here.

EDIT: And JJ, make sure you list "Cheap Ass Survivors" as your group in your profile.

EDIT2: fuck's sake, there are, like, 25 zombies out there. I once again ask the group in general, and HotShot in particular, to consider relocating to a green zone and restocking there.

Thoughts on Relocation:

Obviously I'm not up there with you guys but moving, restocking, and reorganizing seems to make sense. While I don't recomend the 'burb where I'm at (Reganbank) as it has no police stations or malls (meaning no ammo), and only one hospital, I do know that West Becktown ('burb south of Chudleyton) has 3 police stations, 4 firehouses, and 2 hospitals. One more 'burb south (Molebank) equals only 2 police stations, a pair of hospitals right next to each other, and a ridiculous 7 firehouses so it's probably not a good choice. A mall is simply to strong a zombie lure to rely on any area around remaining a 'green zone' for long.

West Becktown still presents easy raids into Caiger through its Northeast corner and allows a return to Darvell when conditions improve. I also like the fact the W.B. hospitals and police stations have some seperation between them preventing them from all falling to the enemy at once, then again I'm new to the game so maybe that's not as advantagous as I believe it to be. Furthermore, I have not been in this suburb yet so it could be overun with undead or home to one or more groups that have no interest in having us in the area. I have no personal preference or idea of its status, I was just throwing out an option nearby that would allow for attacks on and a future return to Darvell Heights.

If anyone else has any other suggestions I'm game and of course we should scout out any location before any decisions are made, just thought I'd throw my two cents in.

On the relocation. First off, go here to get a basic idea of the safety of different suburbs.

As you can see, the north has been getting raped anally, while the south is more-or-less okay. As such, our best bet is to hoof it on down south.

Dartside looks like it might be safe - three police departments, a whopping seven hospitals, and two fire departments and Necrotech buildings.

Well, I moved back to our first place (which is loaded with gen'd buildings (including the mall)), so if you guys can't find another place, this seems to be a good location.

EDIT: If we're scouting tonight, we should talk about the places in the IRC room. Don't need people knowing our new HQ =/

Yeah, I checked that out first. That's why I suggested south as well. I simply meant I haven't been in W.B. personally so I don't have first-hand knowledge of the current situation. I thought W.Becktown would be a good choice as it currently has as in-between level of danger, allowing for safety but still having a little action for those who want it.

Yeah, come down south. It's nice and comfy down here. I'm in Lockettside. It's mostly safe but there are bands of zombies roaming around .. nothing major though. They're groups of 4 at most.

"If we're scouting tonight, we should talk about the places in the IRC room. Don't need people knowing our new HQ =/"

Or maybe we should talk about it here, you know mention like a half-dozen options in public so an outsider has no idea which one we settle on. As long as we vote/decide by PM or whatever this would really keep 'em guessing.

To reiterate, making multiple suggestions here may be o.k. but final decisions NEED to be kept out of the public eye.

I started out right next to there. Wykewood a few days ago had a ton of zombies as I was passing through. (That is where I leveled up.) Ruddlebank seemed pretty safe, though.

I'm about to start tonight's excursion. I think I'm going to try to find some supplies.

I guess it comes down to how safe we want it to be in conjunction with how far the group wants to travel and if a return to Darvell is planned. The suburb map is only as accurate as its latest update and while this is pretty good, it isn't 100% accurate. My zombie alt is in Lamport Hills and half the suburb completely ruined yet the level is only listed as dangerous instead of very dangerous. I do agree with aTOH though, we must keep the eventual location to ourselves!

Since I picked out the new spot the other day, a crapload of zombies have popped up. I no longer feel the area is secure. All those who wish to discuss the new location, please come to the meeting tonight at ten eastern. And this time, we keep it private, yeah?

I will not be able to attend the IRC chat as I am still working on getting approval for downloading application programs to this machine (I play on/use a local government owned and issued pc). As such, I will PM my reccomendation to Crotch and he is allowed to vote on my behalf if need be. If this is unacceptable to the group, I will simply abide by whatever decision is made. Consequently, please PM the group's decision to me after it is made.

How does this group meet? Although not that matters when it comes to my opinion. I'll go wherever you guys go as long as it's not a hot zone.

I won't be able to make the meeting tonight, either, so if someone could shoot me a PM with the decision, I'd apermiate it.

Hey guys, I only caught the end of the meeting. Shearbank works for me, but I used up all my AP hunting today, so it’s going to take me longer to catch up with you. Should be there in about two days, I think.

I still think Dartside would've been better because it's closer to where I am, but Shearbank works for me. I guess. :whistle2:?
