Urban Dead - The Official Cheap Ass Survivor Thread

@father: I believe if you get first aid and surgery, you still get 5exp. So they aren't very useful when trying to gain exp via FAK. Diagnosis would be a better skill if you want to level that way. Though when you're around the rest of the CAS, you can just ask who needs a heal in IRC. But keep in mind there might be no one to heal at all, might have to start hitting people and healing them after. Also, since you get 5 exp from using FAKs on others no matter what, even if the person has 49 hp, you still get 5 exp from using the FAK.

Zeds have full hp after standing up.

Revives still suck no matter how you look at it. And if you have no zed skills, like lurching gait, or ankle grab, it's even more of a downer. And the response time of the public revive points can be random, may take hours or days depending on he activity of the designated revive group. Plus that's 10 ap devoted to standing up, which is 5 hours of regen gone.

Choosing skills is heavily based on your location and current situation. I hope any of this helped.

@get: PM crotch or hotshotx about rejoining.
Thanks for the advice.

I figured out Gee Avenue was a revive point after I dumped 60 APs into attacking zombies. D'Oh!

I'm trying to run the numbers on fastest XP. As a firefighter, I gain roughly 0.75 XP per Attack AP. Getting HTH skill will raise my hit percentage to 40% or roughly 1.2 XP per Attack AP.

However, I get a guaranteed 5XP for every FAK I use on somebody. Hospital search percentages for FAKs appear to be 20%. If I get First Aid and Surgery, do I get 15XP per use of FAK? That would work out to roughly 3XP per FAK use AP. Even without those two extra skills, it is roughly 1.33 per FAK use AP.

Regarding my location, I'm within walking distance of a well known revive points. Killing me would be a waste of time based on hit percentages. Also, there is some Internet publicized gang around.

Just a dumb question: How much HP does a zombie have after it stands up?
A FAK gives only 5 XP per heal regardless of the other skills you aquire. Skills like First Aid and Surgery only heal more HP per FAK, but you don't get a bigger XP bonus.

Believe me, I started as a medic and it sucks since you heal at 10 HP per FAK effectively halfing the amount of XP you can earn per heal.

A zed has full health when it stands back up.
Given a zombie has to be killed 10 times a day and a human is zombified immediately.

How could humans mathematically survive?
Superior numbers/firepower i'd guess.

Barricades. In order to kill humans, zeds have to get to humans first. Killing isn't always the way to survive. I'm not sure how many hits it takes to take down EHB 'cades, but they still eat up zed AP. But, thanks to the recent upgrade given to the zeds, it's become harder to even do that.

option mentioned attacking survivors then healing them afterwards. Doing so is frowned upon, and instead you could be using the AP for more important things (pokemon battles on the radio). If you're gonna be around the group anyway, there will always be someone who'll need a heal. I, myself, could use 3 heals.

they could make it where headshot on zombies permanently kill them or at the very least keep them innactive for a few days. but at the cost of 25 or 30 ap to the shooter.

Considering that in movies, zombies usually don't get up once they are fully "re-deadified," i think it should cost a lot more for zombies to get up. Of course that would suck if you were a human who was killed.

Motherfucking EVERYONE: Meeting tonight = important. We're deciding where to hole up for the time being and get back on our feet. If you're searching for items, you should definitely be focused on FAKs and needles.

Low Levels: Free Running and Construction are critical skills at this point, and toolboxes critical items. Shopping stuff is pretty handy, too. Diagnosis and NecroTech skills are also huge. Combat is mainly for getting EXP for now.

GMOOJ: Shall we have an MSPaint duel? Also, link me to your user UD profile.

Option: We'll be back on the frontlines as soon as we can. Not sure where those lines will be, but I can guarantee things will be different. Not necessarily better, but certainly different. And yeah, working with the other clans very important - but zombies have a huge edge there, despite the fact that most of the updates I can remember that have been pro-survivor have actually been meant to improve our communication (cell phones, radios, etc.).

But since 95% of all talk is done on forums, those mean dick fucking all. Besides that, zombies need only log on at one specific point in time and bash through za barraghaz. Humans have to have people on all the fucking time to watch that shit.

So yeah, major imba.

Sleep: When you're a zombie without "Lurching Gait" and it takes 2 ap to move 1 block that happens whenever you move with only 1 ap.

I notice that it doesn't say that you are swaying and what not so I assume that you aren't a zombie.

Therefore I must agree, What The fuck.

yeah, i'm a fuckin' firefighter, the only thing i've been doing is raping this zombie with my motherfuckin' dual bit brain splitter...

fuckin' goddamn broke ass game fuckin up my shit in the middle of a mother fuckin' fight...

I know I am out of the loop, but do we have a IRC channel now or something?

EDIT:

Get on MSN messenger Crotch, anyone else that wants to have a Urban Dead disscussion, hit me up on MSN. [email protected] is my MSN address. I have got some ideas.

Which thing, specifically?

Currently working on a new set of strategies and tactics based partially on the existing things mentioned earlier and some new ideas of mine. I'll have them ready in a day or two, I think.
Yeah, well, we can't, so talking about it don't help us much.

Unless we're talking to Kevan.

...

I think I found our new strategy.
Couldn't be any worse than the previous ones.

is there anyone in havercroft who needs reviving? i have 3 needles but only 10 ap for now. i can wait a few hours and find a safe spot and try and revive you if you want.

once i get free running, i'll be much more useful, it's 1am here now, and there is definitely a UK advantage.

not in havercroft but a suburb below in shorehills at the cemetry 39,59 waiting for a revive. I'll be there till tomorrow as i am low on AP.

if you can help, great. if not then oh well.

On the bright side, my alt account, consumer, is leveling up much quicker than my oh so dead CAS one.

I PM'ed you but I am in the same place you are right now. If you have a FAK, I need it badly.

Right here! I got killed overnight.

My zombie wanting to be a human is standing at a revive point in Greentown near a hospital.

If somebody were to revive him, I'd walk into the hospital and start searching for FAKs and get XP by healing random strangers.

My zombie wanting to eat a human is standing outside a secured building with 8 other zombies.

If nothing changes for either, I'm walking to the nearest barricade and smashing it until I have enough AP to shamble back to the revive point or my newfound zombie horde.

EDIT: The game lets you stand up if you don't have enough points. My human is operating at a -4 deficit. I guess it is Zombie bait for now.

If you don't have a FAK, find a group of survivors and request a heal.

I have 2 syringes and 19 AP. A couple zombies with syringes - I'm looking to you, Ivan - should shamble on over to the plaza one SE of the NecroTech. I'll be able to deal with two guys once I get a little bit more AP. Please post here if you're going there - the rest should get to designated revive points pronto.

Currently AT HQ, ran into plume along the way. Stocking up on FAKs and will try to get a toolbox.

Found a generator, should i keep this? Will we need one any time soon?

Ok I have 97XP now and just like 6AP. I am just south and east of the mall. I will be coming in through St. Holy's Church with Free Running, probably on Late Sunday or Monday.

 • Be0wulf said "I only got half of the story...who is planning to attack the mall? And estimated how many?" (16 minutes ago)
 • wire rhino said "15 zombies at St. Josephs Hospital in North Blythville"
I don't know if they mean marven, but i think they do.

Well we better hurry up and get our asses in and out of there. If that is true.

If somebody wants to revive me, I'm 1 southeast of St. George's Hospital, Churcheous Avenue. I only have 7 AP so I'm going to wait at least a few hours before getting up. I won't make the mistake of standing up early twice (or is it three times).

Assuming the place isn't overrun by zombies, I'll to a nearby hospital and start rooting around for FAKs. From there, it's heals for whoever wants them.

Are there any hospitals CAGs are hanging around?

Again - I've got two syringes and am in the NecroTech just NW of the mall. If any of you shamblers are in the suburb - and this is the meeting place, so ya should be soon - just gimme a call.
