User cheapfitzguy Warning - Do not Trade *OP Updated*

That sucks. I'm guessing they were new users since the only way they would have shipped first was the lower feedback thing. This is why I'm worried to ship first to people with low feedback even though they have more than me. It would really be awesome if you had to put your address on this website and would have to wait like a week or so if you wanted to change it to reduce scammers but I doubt that will happen. I just hope this doesn't discourage any people from this website
 
Wow, I was one of his first trades (sells, I guess?). I picked up some clearance games and sent them on up to Canada for cost and shipping. I wouldn't say he was difficult to deal with, but he certainly kept asking for more and more time to pay before I finally told him I was taking them back to the store. I had payment from his dad within a day. He said something about being out of work due to disability.

For a guy living with his girlfriend, two kids, and no job he sure bought a lot of games.
 
how do you guys know he is a scammer? i am trading with him now. i sent my devil may cry 4 at least a month ago, and he's never received it. but he said he'll send his call of duty 4, because he said he trusted me. but he still hasn't received mine, and im still waiting for his. at first, i thought he was a scammer because he had some problem with cobrajunglesnake, but that guy kept bothering cheapfitzguy that he eventually paid junglesnake back, so i dunno what to think about this guy

Add to the list Pooky. Someone just got scammed for DMC4. You do realize that he is sending nothing to you and he has already recieved your game? I feel bad for you. Always buy Delivery Conformation to avoid most of these problems

Odds are you probably won't receive anything. Two of the negative feedbacks mention him "sending" his side, even though he didn't receive anything yet, and them never receiving anything.

Did any of the people that left feedback get DC and it says delivered?

Look at his feedback, four guys who have been waiting for 1-2 months? I hope I'm wrong but this has all the details of a scam. All of his positive trades were with higher feedback users (ranging from 13 to 75) so he was forced to send first. Now all the people that are waiting are lower feedback users.
 
damn, this sucks. i think cobrajunglesnake could help, because he was having problems with cheapfitzguy, but he got all of his personal info somehow, and eventually cheapfitzguy paid him back. i was gonna ask cobra for help, but right now he's banned, and he seems to know alot about cheapfitzguy. i was discussing cheapfitzguy with cobra before, but i deleted all those pms

I knew this guy was iffy.

glad I didn't trade him with and yes he wants more crap from you when you about to agree a traded.
 
this is the reason i dont trade on cag anymore, since its international, i dont think the people that got scammed are going to get their stuff back
 
I sold him Halo 3 for 32 bucks. He kept saying he never got it, and said he would send my money anyways, never did.

Edit: Sorry, forgot to mention that I shipped his stuff almost a month and a half ago. I've kept all of his Pm's so if the mods need, I can provide those.
 
I guess that is the reason why, when I asked him to ship first, he took forever to respond and gave a bunch of excuses on why he couldnt finalize the trade.

That's too bad. He seemed like he just had a lot to deal with at the time ( unpacking or something similar is the reason I got from him).

It kind of sucks for low feedback people. It really limits you with who you can trade with and its hard to pass up a trade for something you want badly from someone with low feedback( under 40) . Not everyone with high feedback has good deals or stuff you are interested in.

Hope it all works out for everyone and they find some sort of acceptable resolution.

This was very similar to what I mentioned before. I picked up some games for him per his request. It took near two months to get him to pay. He kept asking if he could put them on 'layaway'. His excuses ranged from "I just spent my paycheck on some games for my kids" to "I broke my leg at work and am out for a few weeks without pay."

I finally told him that I had to return the games and he said he'd have his dad pay for them for his Christmas present. Sure enough, the payment came through that night.

EDIT: Pooky, is there anything that we can provide to help things move along? I know the situation is quite different than DP, but I do still have the address, etc. from PayPal.

I really hate to tell you this, since you look new, but if it's been a month, you're not getting your game....

ALWAYS use DC. If it's out of country, i'd probably skip it, but that's my opinion.

Anyway, i'm sorry for all of those affected, especially since i've had 30+ trades with no problem. Now that i have feedback, it's even better, becuase most people either ship first, or are trustworthy.
 
I also remember cheapfitzguy in his tradelist saying, he did not send PMs to those who was not interested in their games. I could be wrong, but I wonder if it really meant, he wasn't going to send PMs to those who have a higher feedback than him.

I knew he had to have been busy with deals, because every time I saw him online, it said "private messaging".

This REALLY pisses me off because this person is from Canada. I have put a lot of effort forth convincing people shipping to Canada is safe and helping people new to shipping to Canada have good first experiences. I've converted a lot of people over to shipping to Canada and now as a result of this ass clown more people are going to stop shipping cross border. Where in Canada does this guy live anyways. If you needed local help trying to find this guy or work with authorities trying looking on www.redflagdeals.ca as they have a huge base of people all across Canada and a video game deal section.

I'm so glad I never traded with him. When I first made my trading list, he kept bugging me to trade with him. But I ignored him for a while because he was "pushy" and once I started getting feedback, he left me alone. I got lucky, but I still just got scammed by another trader on GameTZ. I might just quit trading for a while.

I hope it works out for those who traded with him.
 
See this is the kind of stuff that will kill the trade on this site... But in order to get feedback you have to make trades and I feel no matter what if the guy has no feedback or 500 when he decides he wants to scam someone it will happen. I like to keep my trades with people I have talked to on here or traded with before but the thing that sucks is with the feedback system you can trade 5 different times with the same person and you only get 1+ on your feedback.

I also took a look at his thread, and it appears others had issues with a game taking over a month to receive it, but I'm not sure.
 
I am completely and utterly amazed that people just let this go for 4-6 weeks without a word before now, man maybe we need a timetable in the faq about when you should probably go this isn't right.
 
I was in the process of working out a trade with him for some "kid friendly" games , including an elmo game for the 64. He was asking me if I had any other games that would be good for his kid , and also asked for some spiderman / batman games for the PS1 and N64. Honestly he didn't seem odd to me , but I had told him that I would get back to him once I checked to see if I had anything else he might be interested in. Guess it worked out in the end.

Since shipping first class says "varies" as far as receiving time, it can be difficult to ship. Unless you are shipping a particular box size, I believe (although magiic might have explained it to me and I missed something, sorry) you may not have a tracking number so it's tough to know if he received it and when. That is part of the reason I backed out (despite everything else). And then I heard from others he's just slow at getting stuff done, so I dunno.

I don't know if there's any other CAG member near him and could compare how long it took. I know magiic lives a distance away in NW Canada (I think), but I'm not sure how long it took to send something first class to him (from a place like Florida or somewhere in the South or East).

I've traded with someone in the same province and I got my game from him in 5 days.
Did not have any problems.

You know when bells go off, well it did with me yet me being the young buck went through with it.
It sucks being the lower feedback :/.

We were in the same situation, because I stated on my tradelist I wanted people to let me know if they were from Canada, and he did not tell me (meaning he didn't read the rules).

I'll admit, I was first thinking maybe he's just taking a lot time to get stuff sent (because he mentioned over and over again he wasn't trying to scam, and some people did eventually receive something), but what has me suspicious is:
-Claims to have no Paypal (or problems), yet one person recently got a Paypal payment (that leads me to believe he tried avoiding Paypal since that's an easy way to track people, and due to getting lots of pressure, went ahead and did it). I was told I'd receive cash/money order, yet he used Paypal later on for someone.

-Only really dealing with several with low feedback (Most normal people at CAG have a good balance between new traders and older trades, not heavily new traders with low feedback, like the DP situation in ways).

-Really insisting on shipping first over and over again, and seems to leave people alone with high feedback.

-Trying to buy more games than an average CAG member, then claiming to have financial problems, paying off stuff (It's understandable to have other bills, but if there is, you wouldn't expect someone to still want to buy a lot of stuff from others, but tell some you cannot buy due to financial issues).

I can agree with a lot of this. He never mentioned he was in canada to me either , he wasn't very pushy with me (most likely since I had high feedback) and only wanted a couple games , probably because of the same reason. I suppose the biggest difference is that I made first contact with him not the other way around.
