User cheapfitzguy Warning - Do not Trade *OP Updated*

The game I mailed him (Folklore) isnt on his other trade lists, but the game I was suppose to receive is (Blue Dragon). Closing in on 7 weeks now.
 
Add me to the list. I sent him World Cup 2006 for xbox 360 about 2 months ago now. He said he hadn't received it and that customs took a long time! The trade was for Legacy of Kain: Defiance for PS2.

Wow, thank goodness I decided not to do the deal with him! I have about 10 PMs going back and forth with him, and it seemed a tad fishy and I didnt want to ship to Canada without payment first, so I just never replied to him again and kept my stuff.

Very interesting to here I'm not the first one to say, the situation seemed too fishy.

If there's anything that makes me not believe this person, it has to do with the amount of money and people involved. I doubt most here would suddenly start making several trades and buying a ton of games after only making a few trades/buys/sells without being here for very long, unless they won a lottery or something. Also, I still question why those with low feedback are getting all the PMs instead of some balance? I definitely believe customs can take a while, but what I just said has me thinking it isn't customs holding things back.

Yea, I don't really care what his story is in Shrike's PM's... there are so many trades out there involving him and the ratio of those failing recently are enormous. I'm definatly writing this transaction in my book as "Scammed." But here's to hoping for more of the excellent trades I've had thus far on CAG.

I was about to mention magiic myself. I am more than willing to deal with people from Canada I know on the site (or those who are willing to paypal first) because I definitely feel I can trust them, on whether they got their stuff or not (especially magiic).

But in this situation, no Paypal, not being able to possibly track the package of $85 worth of stuff, getting paid later via cash, etc. was way too risky. I could be told stuff was never received, but it was. I could have never had money sent to me, but told it was (with no proof it was sent really).

Also, my personal opinion was the feedback wasn't exactly promising, although positive. I look for things like, paid quickly, great communication, etc., and I saw stuff like "Yay for K-Mart clearance", "Yup", etc. which had me a bit unsure.

that's is part of the reason why i didn't complete the trade with him.... if i wanted to send all of my shit that was worth about $150 to $200.. I would've send it via express or global priority mail where it is trackable. but adding in the shipping cost, it just isn't a good trade at all.

As for the feedbacks, I just wish every1 would follow the guidelines where they would give more info as to what was traded.

PES 07 was one of the games he was suppose to trade to me. Although he kept saying it was packed up when I asked him to double check the condition of it before we finalized the trade. I gave him like 2 weeks to unpack it and get back to me on the condition but he never did. I guess he was stalling for time since he didnt actually have it.

Thats funny. When I sent my Folklore for a Blue Dragon 7 weeks ago he was in the middle of playing NGS so didnt want to trade it. I've chalked this one up to being scammed and went ahead and got another copy of Blue Dragon from the TRU clearance. I'll just wait and see what happens with this; keep meaning to mention it to my college buddies from Quebec, but usually get caught up in online multiplayer. Doubt I'll trade on CAG unless the other person has a fairly high rating. I'd rather pay the extra couple bucks and not chance getting hosed.
 
There are more good Canadians than just magiic. I've done trades through goozex and gametz up to Canada and I have had no problems.
 
Yeah, I was ABOUT to trade with him until he said he lived in canada....I was not gonna risk sending a 100$ Xbox 360 wireless adapter unless I was absolutely sure...I just got a really bad vibe from him.


He also gave me a EBAY username. here is a copypasta from my PM's.

Then he told me how he got ripped off,

i have been ripped off myself on 4 different occasions. I know how it feels, and it really really sucks. Actually just recently i bought from another site, a cpl games that totaled 213 dollars, and i never received. that was 3 months ago. so, i know how it feels, and would never do it. And yes, i do live in canada. Labrador City, Newfoundland and Labrador to be exact. To all of my experience with online buying/selling/trading shipping outside your own country is really no risk. I have done it many times, with no problems, except when you get jerks that rip you off. Other then that, i find it very safe, and a nice way to get things cheaper. The choice is up to you on this, i know some people don't send outside their country. I always do, i have sent as far as china and australia. its no big deal to me.


I did not fall for it.
 
These are a lot of really cheesy excuses... What I don't get is, if anything he says is true, then he has the ability to get to the post office and mail things (and pay for them with some sort of credit card I'd think, also where do the packing materials come from), but he doesn't have his own ebay, paypal, or credit card?

Kind of suspicious...

-He was at CAG and POJO previous, got banned, so he came back.

-He probably has his own Paypal account (or possibly), but doesn't want it seen because it reveals his name and other info, which might have already been given (unless he really does still live with his parents and the same address).

-He used his initials as his name since he didn't want us to know who he use to be.

-The rare games he mentioned were the rare games he tried to get from others.

-By looking at the threads, his English is EXACTLY the same.

From what I found out, this is all the names (where all IPs matched):

With that, it appears that his story of having kids ages 2 and 5 seems really unlikely. Now while it is totally possible he really does, I'd say chances are against him. He would have had his first child at close to the age of 15?!? Not a whole lot of stories out there like this one.

Again, while this is totally possible, I really don't think this part of his story is true.

Edit: I notice that his possible brother (Keith) actually has kids and is a few years older. Makes me think that he is also helping Evan in scamming us. This could possibly be where the request for kids games are comming from.

I'll just say a certain someone alerted the mods at the site he had all those names at (which didn't ban the cheapfitzguy account, but the previous ones like evan11221), so hopefully they look into it and see if he might be someone else also (along with putting a stop to him there). This is just something many sites need to come together to put a stop on this person.

My god. It's been two weeks since I sent out my two Blu-ray movies and I come on to find him banned and this extensive thread.

I have sent him two Blu-ray movies in exchange for two of his. It took a little over two weeks for him to finally receive, which was fine since it was international. From then on it was chaos. Never responded to my PM's, and when he did all he would say was that he would be heading to the post office the next day. And he asked for my address about three times which made me suspicious.

Here is the most recent PM I have had with him:

ME: You told me they were going to be shipped out on the 10th, why haven't they been? And why do I have to keep contacting you about it? Please keep me updated, it has been a really long time since I sent my end off.

HIM: the reason they were not shipped on the 10th or 11th was i worked 16 hour days straight. i wasn't suppose to be in work but i got called to go in, very unexpected. And as for why you have to keep messaging me is i am extremly busy, and don't think on checking in with people. Its why i have stopped trades untill i get everything else traded. Your package has been ready now for days, but i have just been flat out. I am very sorry for all of it, but i have 2 young kids, work 12-16 hours a day lately with no break, 6-7 days a week. I just don't have time to remember everything, again i am sorry for this tho.

your package will be going to the PO tomorrow morning.

A week later, thinking everything was on its way I asked him if they were shipped. They were not. He told me his GF would ship it for him the next morning.

That didn't happen. Finally, about two weeks ago he said he got it out.

Yeah, I mean a lot of members here are in way worse condition than me as far as time goes. It has only been two weeks since he claimed to have shipped so I will give him the benefit. I just find it really suspect that he would initiate SO many different trades at once. At the moment I do have all the information I need to get in touch with him so thanks for that. I'll give him a call in a couple of days.
 
The worst thing about scammers like this is it ruins trading for the rest of us. I've seen several people post in this thread that they're not going to be trading on CAG anymore or for a long time. That's a shame as I've completed several great trades in the last year or so.

Yeah its a complete shame. All of my trading experience (mainly over at TGN, here, and recently over on the blu-ray forums) have been a joy to deal with. Users were ALWAYS kind and went above and beyond what they were supposed to do, that made me do the same too.

Even when I was first scammed for nearly 20 games (XBOX game collection for digital camera) many users stepped in and helped me get it resolved. The trading community is mainly full of great and honest people but there are quite a few that are out to take advantage of them.

I doubt I'll be trading again unless its with someone with very credible feedback.
 
I filed my complaint against cheapfitzguy with the IC3 today and plan on going to the local PD this weekend...I urge all that were scammed by cheapfitzguy to at least file a complaint with the IC3

Well, it appears this guy hasn't logged onto GameTZ since May 1st, and the other sites he was at, he's been away for a longer period of time.

Has anyone who called him gotten their stuff? I'm starting to question this more because I received some from various countries recently (mostly from Europe and Asia), and got my games within 5-10 days.

I believe I posted a link to his older brother's profile here (and maybe people can try talking to him).
