User DrunkPollock Warning - Do not trade/Halt

Looks like Dragunz & Tolmes are the only ones that filed BTRs on him at GTZ so far. Everyone else should too, even if you haven't registered on the site, register so that you can file one.
 
Well, I've requested DP to provide either this fine young man's name as well as his parents' contact info and possibly his parole officer's info as well since the kid was a convicted felon and may be out on parole.

Well I was able to track him down in California and spoke with him on the phone. He of course denied everything. My wife was furious and spent an hour on the phone with his mother (her cousin) who said that she hasn't seen any of the things reported missing which leads me to believe that he probably got rid of the stuff at some point.

Not sure what else can be done at this point? If you guys have any ideas, I will listen, though I will not pursue any type of legal action against him, since he's just a kid and it wouldn't do any good and there are some circumstances that i'm not gonna get into on here. But I am heading out there for a family reunion in June and can speak to him in person then, but I really doubt it will accomplish anything.

I would happily replace your things myself if I had the means too, but i'm just not able too at this time and have even gotten rid of most of my own collection as well.. really just don't have the time anymore, and will probably be reenlisting soon and heading back overseas again.

And just for the record "IXI Dragunz IXI" didn't even lose anything except shipping fees, so i'm not sure why the hell you're even involved at this point? And it's your own damn greed that got you into it at all, and that goes for some others as well, but not all.

I really feel bad for mana knight and can offer him something from my list. Just pm me if theres anything you want and if i still have it i will send it your way.

I read in a post on gametz of his him saying they are stupid, and deserve to get ripped off by a kid cause there stupid blah blah. This guy is full of it. He is trying to play it off on someone else so he don't get busted period end of story.
 
Wow, what a mess.

I highly doubt he will be back over to Gamestz to further defend himself...seems he visited back there because he had a few who believed him (and perhaps because he was barred here), but now its just a "jump on Pollock" party. Perhaps if some people had been a bit more tactful, further information would have flowed about his "relative" or his current location to further investigate.

I'll be sitting on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happens next.

Yes, shipping fees that I believed amounted to over $60. So I think he has every right to be a little irate.

In addition, "Greed", seriously...no, seriously. The kid was just trying to unload some of his stuff for money. No different than if he would have done it on eBay. Except instead he tried to help out a CAG who's negligence is enough to piss any normal person off.

He can't even keep his story straight. Everyone go after this guy at once. Have your parents call the local police department, or if you are old enough to handle it call yourself. Enough people will cause an investigation to start.. When a similiar instance happened in GA from me getting ripped off along with others. Just make sure they know the total amount this guy stole from everyone. Because if you call them up and say I sent him a $20 game and he ripped me off they are going to care less. If you say that he has ripped off thousands of dollars from people through mail fraud they will start a case and assign someone to the case. I got a case id that I had others use so they could call and add to the investigation.


Bottom line is he ripped everyone off...
If that isn't the case he knows and provided access to a family member over the age of 18 and is protecting him. (it should be noted that during this time he completed a trade with the Bill without issue, so as far as not having online access/moving/not knowing...it is bs)
It doesn't matter go after this guy....don't waste time.

I just read the posts on gametz and he seems completely guilty. I don't see him replying to anyone else's quotes. I hope everyone gets their stuff back at least, and any less than that is unacceptable really.

His comments about the people who traded with him "are to blame for all of this" mentality comments bug me the most though.


EDIT: Thinking about it some more too, wouldn't there be evidence if what he says is true actually is when you look at people sending him money. I assume money was sent through Pay Pal right? How is this *supposed* 18 yr old gonna get it out of his account. Surely there would be a trace of it being moved somewhere else. If not, it should still be in his acct. Same with if someone wrote a check and sent it out. The kid would have to forge his signature (and you could prove through signature comparison). Those two methods alone leave traces to cement or discredit everything. As more thought goes into it, it just rips apart the idea that it would have been someone else though to me.

Us who were going to get paid were told we'd receive USPS Money Orders.
 
I have not been involved in any of this, but I did have a thought.

Does anyone else's local news stations have one of those "Problem Solvers" teams, where they take complaints from people and investigate and then harass the guilty party until they get results?

I wonder if this may be a way to prompt an investigation if the police don't do anything about it.

Under the first link there's a story titled "Mustang Man" about a guy selling bad parts online, but its not exactly the same situation as this.

Might be worth checking out if the news teams in this guy's area do something similar.

His "he's just a kid, and there isn't anything that can be done" attitude points to him being the 'kid' and hoping this all goes away. Blaming everyone else and trying to paint himself as the biggest victim simply makes me laugh.

Completely agree, if I were in his situation I would have no problem giving the "kid" up, if his story is true said person had no problem using his name to do illegal stuff. Really entire thing reaks of BS, his oh this is your fault for being greedy crap is just ridiculous, hell he is even setting it up for himself to take a hike by saying he is thinking about going back overseas. For anyone still on the fence about calling the cops on the guy out of the 20 do not waste time on this, do it now.

Wait a second. How would he know if my package was successfully intercepted? The only way he would know is if he didn't receive it yet........As for the update. I called UPS and they said that the package was not successfully intercepted :(
 
just send him a package with a dc number on it to his old address. Put a dc number on it. It should get forwarded to his new address. Then we will have his new addy. Then call the police again and send them there.


Mods do you have his ip addresses? You can contact his internet provider and get addresses too right? I believe that you sign that little thing saying you will not do anything illegal using their service.

The ISP wouldn't turn over any information without a subpoena.
 
We should be able to get one. It would involve a lawsuit but hey that's what free legal service is from work is for right? I guess the highest dollar amount scammed should just take him to small claims court. Then subpoena the isp as well.

Anyone hear back from the pd. I'm still getting the runaround.
 
Though I wasn't a victim of the scam, I don't believe a word the scammer had said on GTZ and would continue to push this to the fullest extent of the law. Contrary to his "tough" responses, he must be sweating bullets right now. Does he really think that blaming a figment of his imagination is going to end this and sway the police off course? Police investigation can uncover murders that occurred 20 years ago. Even a rookie officer or a pencil pusher could easily put in minimal effort and find any loopholes or disinformation from his story (if he is indeed lying). If he is telling the truth, it would be even easier to track down his criminal roommate.

It's not that hard to jump on the sympathy train and ride the success (and by success, I mean how people will easily jump on the side of the victims. I don't literally mean success. I can explain this better; if someone jumps on me for this I'll clarify)

If someone is able to scam this amount of people, popping back up on the radar is definitely something you don't want to do. Prove your case VS 1 person, or prove your case VS. 20?

For the people getting on him about his "roomie"Apparently, this "roomie" is family. Think about it, really...it would be hard to turn in a family member. It doesn't just affect the two parties involved, but everyone else in the family as well.

And as far as "kid" goes, there are many ues of the word. The most common, like most everyone is thinking, is under 18. Another VERY common use for it is to describe someone who doesn't have their act together.

About the package interception thing...he isn't allowed to post, but he can still access the thread. It doesn't take that long to read through this whole thread, and it would be a good idea too, since he is getting blamed for a large scam.

Well, that's the MO of most people who run into any spot of trouble with trading or selling things online. Blame it on the other party ("he shouldn't have entered into a deal with me because _________") or blame it on someone else altogether down the line (friend, relative, random robber, Act of God). When all else fails get angry, write a really virulent post about how you're the good guy at the end of the day, and then tell everyone else to shove off.

It's a shame, really, but if he was making up a story everyone could have been the sweetest people in the world but he would never give out any additional information that would be of any use.

Of course, now he mentions that the felon was somewhat of a relation? That's terrific. You know what's fantastic for all of that? Online genealogy. There's a ludicrous amount of information you can get just from that alone. ;)


[Edit:] By the way, for some of you currently attending university who happened to be in this situation, see if your university has any legal department set up for the students. It's highly unlikely but a few schools provide free legal advice and services to students for a variety of issues, from the mundane to the serious. If your tuition is going towards it you may as well get your dollar's worth out of it.
 
I'm not even involved in this and I would seriously love to kick this guy's ass. I live in SoCal and would be glad to help in anyway possible.

Taking into consideration his latest comments (which I alluded to earlier) and what you found digging around, that would seem to be a very likely scenario. As I said before, I don't really care who the "kid" is...brother, cousin, whatever...any reasonable adult would do the right thing, if only to avoid his own legal concerns. The fact that he claims nothing can be done points to him hoping this all goes away, because there is no "kid" to give up. He'd be giving himself up.
