Xbox 360 Towel Trick vs. CheapyD

Skog is probably just another account made by someone who's already posted in this thread about how much he loves the video and is now trying to stir shit up. Only Obsessive CAGs have the time to make shit like that.

hilarious video, at the expense of the robocop gun breaking down (hope it's not really broken)

always wondered how the towel trick worked
Englsih is not my native language.

CheapyD is a lier.

Look at the towels the second before the paus and then the second after. During the pause he swapped the Xbox 360. Towels+different camera position=proof.

During the second pause he swapped again but this time he took the time to place the replaced Xbox 360 in the right place.

Do it again without any pause...
You are an idiot. You try it and see if you feel comfortable not touching your $400 piece of hardware while you are trying to purposely overheat it. I saw this fix on digg a week or two ago and I was really unsure about it. Then I saw this and figured what the hell, what do I have to lose. Sure enough, it works fine. I was shocked. Thanks CheapyD!

Also, wouldn't it make more sense to let the system cool in the horizontal position? If the point of the towels is to try to overheat the system and melt the solder points, then you should let it cool horizontally so that it makes the best contact.

He proberly went over and make sure the towels were closed around as much as possible during the 25 mins.... Ether way even if he did bullshit on the video the trick does work. I have done it before and it does indeed work.

Why don't you buy the special fan that is made for the 360 where it is like an intercoolier. i bought one after mine broke and finally got fixed. and i have had no problems:bouncy: :bouncy:

My 360 is so screwed up this doesn't even work. :( Followed the instructions to a tee.

Question though, when I do like Cheapy does and only leave the power cord in and unplug the harddrive and TV hook up it gives me 4 flashing lights instead of 3, seeming to indicate that not all the cords are plugged in. And it the power goes out after about 5 minutes. But the power stays on if I have the tv hookup and the power cord both in. Is this normal? And will having both cords in keep this from working?

I'm thinking my console is right for a garbage can. And all of this started by simply using a dvd lens cleaner disc that I had for other consoles and it even said it was meant for Xbox 360 and Xbox. My 360 worked fine but I was like why not use this it'll just clean it and it'll work better. Brings a new meaning to if it's not broken don't try to fix it.

It is normal for the 360 to go off without a video cord connected. So yes keep the video cord plugged in (it doesnt have to be inputed to a tv though.

Wow. I've got the same TV stand and the same set of consoles (heck, I had two Wiis last week and I have two PS3s this week) with the predecessor to his speakers (z680 instead of z5500). The similarities are numerous!

Time to take this to the next level: Shaving my head and stalking CheapyD to see what kinds of clothes to wear and food to eat... and soap to was my ass with (since I don't have that fancy Japanese toilet).

As a long time fan, I must say that this vid is probably the best one he's done. Perfect blend of informative and humorous. Well done Cheapy. I've never loved you more than I do now.

dont know if anyones told you yet cheapy. but the O-ring on your pistols magazine needs to be lubed. i dont know how much you know about airsoft guns. but just take some lube.. like some 100% silicon oil. put a drop on the gas release button on the back of the magazine and push the button a few times to get the oil swished around in there and let it sit on its side so that the oil leaks deep into the valve. and just for maintenance after you did the last step, put a drop on the on the valve on the bottom of the mag too. that should fix your problem. if not, you need a replacement O-ring for your gas release valve.

The conspiracy theorist dude who provides animated gif evidence that Cheapy is lying = the biggest laugh I've had on this forum in months. This video is now the Zapruder film of CAG. I hope to see more of this guy in the future.
