Vince McMahon

CAGiversary!
Say hello to my ass!

My ass can do tricks!

Throughout history many a wrestler has strived to join the most exclusive club in the WWE! The Vince McMahon Kiss My Ass Club! Members include: William Regal, The Rockers, Shane, Hornswoggle, Zach Gowen, Jim Ross, and some unathletic hairy guy that left my company!

Someone posted that in the last thread.

/Scorch

Now that we have that out of the way, I wonder if the DVD will have a nice bias to it.

I think it's just the matches and nothing else at all. He's so despised that they won't even publicly shame him, but they'll gladly make money off of him.

I wish they'd reissue the purple sunglasses shirt. Probably the only wrestling shirt I'd wear in public.
Let me restore some "sanity" into this one....

Dude, could you explain what this "Want to Music" stuff is about?

Funny post OP.

The shirt + DVD combo would have been a natural thing for the Shopzone site to do...so of course they didn't; instead the package is the DVD plus some book they did about 80's stars and a couple of colored wristbands that have nothing to do with Savage.

I usually prefer the releases that have the bio portion, but not in this case. It would probably be awful. With the Warrior DVD I could understand it - even though he didn't participate they needed something in there to fill time, it's not like Warrior has several discs worth of awesome matches. Savage ruled it, so rather than giving us an annoying "WWE take" on his career, I'm glad they're just throwing a bunch of matches and promos in there.

It was a pic apart of a contest that Marten had a couple of years ago. Somebody bumped the thread recently so that is probably why the pic is here.

Russo could only dream he's capable of coming up with a stipulation as awesome as that.

Oderus goes over after blinding Smothers with (ahem) "fluid" and beating him over the head with a giant stone rubber hammer. Smothers relocates to the moon afterwords. Beavis and Butt-Head finally obtain all the pieces of the ticket and get to attend the concert.

 What the fuck?

WWE always makes their DVDs one sided. That's why Bischoff or Turner would not appear in the Rise and Fall of WCW dvd.
Seeing as how Kaiju Big Battel was described as "Gwar meets wrestling," can we effictively write off Kaiju entirely now?
Is that the thing they used to show on G4, where people would wrestle dressed as cactuses or buildings etc etc ?

Flair's ready to shit on his legacy

Marvez: Ric Flair wants to pull a Favre

Submitted by SHNS on Thu, 05/14/2009 - 12:21.

Ric Flair seems set to become pro wrestling's version of Brett Favre.

Flair admits he is ready to come out of retirement 14 months after what was supposed to be the final match of his 36-year career. In fact, Flair told me Tuesday that he had just sent a text message to World Wrestling Entertainment executive John Laurinaitis offering his services to substitute for any of the promotion's injured stars.

"I want to wrestle again," Flair said in a telephone interview. "I watch (WWE) and I can still do better than 90 percent of the guys there. I weigh one less pound than the day I retired. I still work out really hard and I wrestle my kid (Reid) all the time. It's not like I haven't been in the ring."

Considered the greatest performer in grappling history, Flair worked his last bout in March 2008 against Shawn Michaels at "Wrestlemania 24." A touching retirement ceremony followed the next day on "Monday Night Raw" (9 p.m. EDT, USA Network).

Flair, 60, has so much appreciation for the sendoff that he has turned down numerous opportunities from other promoters to return. Flair instead became involved with lucrative personal appearances and autograph signings on the independent circuit after quitting an ambassador's role representing WWE at various functions.

Flair also has parlayed his grappling fame into non-wrestling ventures. He is the honorary race director for Saturday's NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race in Charlotte, N.C. Flair is representing Coca-Cola in public and private appearances at Wal-Marts throughout the Southeastern United States. He says the announcement of another major commercial endorsement is only weeks away.

But just like when Favre emerged from retirement last year to play for the New York Jets (and may again this season for Minnesota), Flair is itching for an in-ring comeback. Flair said he "got the fever back real fast" after making WWE appearances in March to build Chris Jericho's match against fellow legends Ricky Steamboat, Jimmy Snuka and Roddy Piper at "Wrestlemania 25."

"People in Europe are offering me a fortune," said Flair, who owes $22,000 a month in alimony to two ex-wives, according to an ESPN report. "I'm tired of signing autographs. I can make more money wrestling."

Whether WWE would have interest is unknown. Flair said he sent WWE owner Vince McMahon a text message last month asking why he wasn't part of the promotion's annual "draft" that reshapes the "Raw," "Smackdown" and "Extreme Championship Wrestling" talent rosters. McMahon's response? "He said I'm retired," Flair said.

For now, Flair has a new wrestling home. He recently began working in a commissioner-type role for Ring of Honor, which is considered the nation's No. 3 promotion behind WWE and TNA Wrestling. ROH is hoping Flair's presence can help increase the group's mainstream audience and bolster viewership for its Saturday-night telecasts (8 and 11 p.m.) on the fledgling HDNET channel.

"The people running Ring of Honor are really nice guys and have a lot of integrity, which mean a lot in terms of wrestling promotions," Flair said. "They're not trying to put (WWE) out of business. They just want to have their own business. There's nothing negative unlike in TNA where all they talk about is trying to beat Vince."

Flair said his main impetus for joining ROH was trying to help his 21-year-old son Reid establish himself in the business. But those plans -- as well as a Ric Flair reality show that was being filmed -- are on hold after Reid was recently arrested for heroin possession.

"It all depends on how he gets himself put back together," said Flair, who has managed Reid and his other son, David, on small shows in North Carolina. "The biggest thing about that is that it's a disease. It's not so hard for me to say that after being at an outpatient clinic with him where they talk about a chromosome deficiency causing stuff like that. It's curable, but he's going to have to work real hard at it. He's doing that."

After at least 16 world-title reigns (the exact number is subject to debate) and thousands of matches worldwide, Flair allows that there's nothing in wrestling left for him to accomplish. So why continue?

"I love the business," Flair said. "I was thinking the other day about the reason why God gave me this health. I don't hurt anywhere. I haven't lost any strength. I'm just like I was 10 years ago. I keep thinking, 'Why am I signing autographs when I can still take backdrops?'

"But I respect Shawn and (WWE) so much that I wouldn't do anything to disrespect them. They would have to give me full approval (to wrestle again). They put me in a special place. I think it's going to be a long time before we see something come across again like what they did for me (with the retirement ceremony). I didn't think it would be that big a deal. We'll see how this turns out."

Ugh. I bet they try and give him a storyline where he and HHH try and outdo each other by seeing who can have the most title reigns.

I hope they bring him back...

...only they don't mention any of his accolades and job him to everybody under the sun until people go "Brooklyn Brawler who?"

Do you really believe that this is why they didn't appear?

From out mine ass I can give you two better reasons why they didn't appear:
  1. Turner divorced himself from the wrestling business almost ten years ago and has MANY better things to do than go meet with the tinpot billionaire about DVD commentary.
  2. Bischoff either:
    • Was pissed that Vince's revisionist view of the history of WCW didn't align closely enough with his revisionist view of WCW, or
    • $$$$$

And I'm not willing to rule out some combination of a + b for the Bisch.

Buddy of mine just put in an order for four dozen light purple American Apparel tees (S, M, L, XL). You can imagine where this is going.

What's been going on in the world of TNA since Foley won the belt? I might check it out tonight.

I really wanted to give Flair the benefit of the doubt that he'd retire from the industry with some dignity. I guess that was too much to ask for.

Now that I think about it, this news sort of turns Jericho's promos from the last few months into a inadvertent shoot.

Any shirt that says "MACHO MAN" on it has to be light purple.

Just ain't the same on black.

Like I said, let me know when you get there. I'm in for one.

 at Billy Gunn. Is he doing another gay gimmick? I haven't seen Impact for a really long time.

I decided to try to watch Impact tonight for the first time in months but turned it off after an hour. I was actually going to try to make it through both hours tonight, but decided not to bother. Also, as a side note, holy fuck, Samoa Joe has gotten faaaaaat(er).

When TNA is good, it's showing improvement over what it used to be.

When it's not so good, it's TNA Impact.

I'd like to ask the writers who got over, who bought a ticket, who continued to watch, whose character grew...what the fucking point was of Borash begging for $100 outside of a nude karaoke bar.

Amazing Red is no longer... amazing. Granted, the match was mostly to set up
the attempted unmasking of Suicide.

I miss his crazy stuff from ~2002-03.

If anyone can assist in finding the old Savage logo in decent size, that'd be a huge help - I can whip up a pretty damn close likeness, but I'd prefer finding the actual artwork.

It was pretty cool to see Red. Haven't seen him wrestle since around the time you mentioned. He wasn't that good, but then again none of the matches were particularly good tonight.

That beat down the British Invasion did to the Dudleyz was the worst beat down I have ever seen.

For fucks sake, Kevin Nash looks like absolute hell wrestling No Limit. He's clearly out of shape and in need of a dye job, and moves like a sloth.

I don't know what they're paying Nash, but I guarantee it could be spent in better ways. I hope he hangs them up following his feud with Joe.

Tonight's episode wasn't bad. Certainly wasn't good, but it wasn't bad. I could've done without those Jarrett videos though. He sounded like a jilted housewife talking to his kids about Foley the entire time.

I just finished watching Impact not too long ago. Some thoughts:

It was obvious that Cute Kip was who Angelina was on the phone with last week... but WHY? Last I heard, TNA was done using him on TV. He's always been horrible, and this gimmick is his worst yet. And whatever happened to no man on woman violence? At least Kip got squashed.

I liked the Jarrett segments for the most part, but it was kind of weird/creepy how he forced a Foley jab into casual conversations with his pre-teen daughters. Also, when they were driving around, the girls were not wearing seat belts. Bad parenting.

Taylor Wilde is an attractive young lady and a decent wrestler, but she's been booked horribly since the day she arrived. She was pushed too hard too quickly to begin with. Then there was the terrible "ghetto party slut" team with Roxxi and that Governor bullshit. Now she's been portrayed as so desperate that she'll cream herself over a secret admirer. Also, Lauren threatening to cut Daffney was just terrible.

I know Russo loves shades of grey, and I don't mind some ambiguity in the characters. But this is just too much. Joe's acting like a heel while he's with the face group; Sting's a face who's aligned with the top heel faction; and Foley seemingly switches between heel and face multiple times per show.

The Front Line: Dead or alive? No wrestlers have mentioned the group lately. They certainly haven't appeared together. No more logo shirts, either. Yet Don West mentions the faction at least a couple times per show.

The Sharmell/Jenna stuff is completely worthless and could have no desirable payoff short of them dykin' it up buck naked in the middle of the ring.

Nash vs. Joe is meaningless at this point. They've waited way too long to have the match in the first place. Add to that the fact that Joe's been booked horribly since the beginning of 2009, and he and Nash have had little to no interaction. Joe needs to just beat the living fuck out of Nash and end it.

It's not too big of a deal, but why throw Jethro Holliday to the wolves in an extended squash in his first ever singles match with the company? He looked like a total jobber, Impact logo create-a-wrestler tron video and all.

Don West comparing the Jarrett videos to waterboarding was pretty funny.

TNA can be so damn stupid sometimes, but despite all that, I enjoyed the show for the most part.
We gotta find that image, people!
I could possibly redraw it in adobe illustrator if i can find a better reference photo of it.

Wow, thos Jeff Jarret vids on Impact last night were terrible, it was bizarre the way they showed him talking to his kids about a dance recital or science test and then randomly start talking about Mick Foley.

Mind you, I did laugh at one of his kids calling Booker, Booger T, simple things amuse simple minds I guess.

I watched Superstars last night to, well I say watched, it was on PIP as I played my 360, it was ok, I guess.

Not Booger T... just Booger.

AND IT WAS WHEN I WAS 4.

Meh, Booger T sounds better, 4 year olds aren't as witty as they used to be.

But that whole video thing was a complete, and frankly quite strange, waste of time.
