I wouldn't doubt that the WWE will eventually release this year's Rumble on Blu here. I hope that along with this year's Backlash will find its way on Blu.
For the sake of his legacy, I think it'd be best for Dreamer to just pack it in.
What Legacy? Dreamer has always been the little jobber that could.

It won't be Christian. I know this because, once Raw was moved to LA, I was contacted about appearing on the show. Seems somebody in WWE mistook me for Luke Walton. I've been booked.

You are going to be on RAW?????

Demo, Demo, Demo.

You and I know if the WWE wanted to book Bud Bundy, they'd just hire the real deal instead of an imposter. Pretty sure Faustino works for less money anyways.

So I just got Fire Pro.

I can tell it has the potential to be fun, but right now it's just pissing me the hell off. I can't get ONE move in on guys who are doing the same shit OVER and OVER. It sucks to see this, because I want to do so much in this game. So far, tonight I've gotten beaten by JARRET, SABU, PETEY WILLIAMS and the great MUTA. I actually read the manual and look at how to do the moves and everything and tried being strategic, but it seems like the CPU just blocks every god damned strke and gets EVERY move. It's hard to transfer from weak to medium to strong when the CPU won't let you get anywhere.

Maybe it's the atributes my CAW has? This is frustraiting.

I thought TNA was pretty decent tonight. I enjoyed it more than RAW. Foley was pretty funny. I'm liking his TNA run, but the guy should not be champ. He can't even walk right.

I haven't played the latest one or used CAWs, but I had similar problems on Fire Pro D. What difficulty are you on?

Weird. Haven't played Fire Pro D in a few years thanks to my DC being unhooked, but I don't remember having frustrating issues like that.

Least helpful post ever, I know.

wow, when I glanced at that "Raw's Playoffs" picture I thought Lawler was Benoit. Like, just for a nanosecond, but it was still a nice liittle "huh?!" moment.

It's hard to believe that it's been almost two years since Benoit has been gone. It seems he's been more forgotten than forgiven*.

*By forgiven, I'm talking about separating what he did with his family from his body of work in wrestling. It seems it's hard for people not to look at it as a total package.

*I feel like jollydwarf using these asterisks.

It's all about timing and wearing down your opponent. Stick with weak striking/grappling until you get them broken down.

Also learn how to counter.

Really, I think that sums up the benefit (or detriment, depending on who you are) of WWE controlling, uh, almost everything. Out of sight, out of mind... I mean, Benoit notwithstanding, we're actually in an era of wrestling where WWE is purposely not remembering their own history, unless it benefits them (like Taker's streak). With the 'blanding' of everything, they seem to not want any attention drawn to the 'before', especially anything like the Attitude Era (again, unless it benefits ratings... like trotting out Austin). The only difference between Benoit and people like Eddie and Perfect is that Eddie and Perfect got DVDs (cause WWE likes money).

That, in a nutshell, is the Benoit problem. If you edit your own history enough, *did* they exist? Sure, we get matches, but there will never be any discussion of storylines.

Case in point, let's think about this upcoming WCW DVD. Do we truly think Benoit will be anywhere on it? When I think of the fall part of 'Rise and Fall of WCW', two of the biggest things I think of are Benoit beating Sid and giving the title back, and then the four of them jumping ship. It makes WWE look great, but it won't be on there, will it? What about Horsemen stuff? It's like on the Mr. Perfect DVD, where they're edited around the Savage stuff, thereby cutting out a big chunk of time.

Then again, I'm also someone that can still watch Benoit stuff and keep it separate from what happened two years ago, so I'm likely the minority.

I think we have one of these rock and a hard place spots though for the WWE and Benoit. Even with the wellness plan, there is a very uncomfortable elephant in the room that half of WWE's talent doesn't live to 40. As much as you can argue about drugs not being the WWE's fault, or whatever, if 50% of cashiers at Walmart died before they were 40, there would be investigations. Everyone sort of knows this, so the WWE doesn't want to shine too bright a light at it's ugliest incident.

Not only that, for better or worse, there is no pressure on the WWE to make money on that history. If you had TNA constantly mentioning Benoit era storylines, and making money off of it, that would be one thing, but no one is ther e to challenge the WWE. So, they go on. It's almost too bad that Benoit isn't part of Taker's streak, since there would be no real way to ignore it.

Also, it's really only been 2 years, which isn't that long. Give another 4-5 years, and things begin to be forgotten. Then, Benoit the wrestler likely will make an appearance when past story lines are brought up.

My obvious question there is... well, can you name all 16 (or is it 17 now) guys that Taker has beaten? Yeah, exactly. The streak is about numbers, not names. Always has been.

I mean, if they can fairly well try to ignore his Rumble win and title victory at WM20, I don't think being part of Taker's streak would present much of a speedbump. ;)

Very true. It kinda shocked me when they did that history of the royal rumble thing this year or last year or whatever it was and completely ignored the 2004 rumble as if it never happened. I mean its one thing to try and sidestep the fact that Benoit won (hard enough to do though since he did win , and as a number 1 entrant as well) but to pretend the show didn't even happen is absurd.

Mania is easier for them to ignore Benoit , since like with Takers streak , its about the show itself , not who was there , or who won titles.

I know I'll get a lot of shit for this comment, but I miss Benoit. I find it hard to forget about his impact on Pro Wrestling. Probably because for a huge chunk of my life, he was my absolute favorite. I know I should hate the man, but I just feel sad for the Benoit family and the WWE. I feel as though the WWE died that terrible weekend two years ago.

Try dumbing down the difficulty at first. Say between 1-3. Next make sure you know that the game is all about timing not button mashing. Button mashing even a little will get you slaughtered. just remember that the only time you should mash, is the x button during pins and the D-Pad during submissions.

For the early game, use strikes & weak grapples NOTHING ELSE (well besides a front face lock and maybe an Irish whip here & there. after a wee bit move up to medium moves irish whips, strong strikes and even aerial moves. Finally when you think he's worn down enough, use strong grapples / finishers. Now you don't always have to stick to this formula, but it's a winning one.

By all accounts, the WCW DVD is reported to be put together by people who's only knowledge of the inner workings of the company come from Wikipedia and the like. Nearly every notable personality available to comment on the DVD has turned them down or is working for TNA and refuses to help for fear of being associated with what is likely going to be a smear campaign.

Realistically, who in the WWE was around for a decent portion of WCW? Chavo, Rey, Finlay, Big Show, Jericho, JR, and Flair - and I highly doubt Flair is going to trash the company he was booking.

Considering that a good majority of people that used to be in WCW that are in WWE now hated the company , that's not much of a surprise. I figured at the least the dvd would be more like the Monday Night Wars one. Yeah WCW was there , but they never really gave us a problem and we walked all over them.

It just seems so stupid that the WWEs continues efforts to completely bury the WCW from wrestling history as anything important , when they could be mining it for numorus dvds other profit makers.

Flair buries WCW in his book and his highspots shoot interview. The only reason he stayed in WCW (after hogan was brought in) was for his friends (arn, benoit, mongo). He said he absolutely hated it.

If the WWE were to go back and release old WCW PPV's (I'm talking late 80's-early 90's) on DVD, I'd buy them in a heartbeat. They own the tape library, yet do NOTHING with it. I understand not releasing WCW stuff from the latter half of WCW (what with Benoit a big part of the company as well as plenty of Wrestlecrap), but some of the early stuff is gold.

I want a Clash Of The Champions collection. I think we'll start getting proper WCW stuff once Sting retires - WWE seems reluctant to give him much attention while he's headlining shows for the competition.

Snuka
Roberts
Giant Gonzalez
Bundy
Diesel
Sid
Kane
Bossman
HHH
Flair
A-Train/Big Show
Kane (again)
Orton
Henry
Batista
Edge
HBK

Wasn't that hard at all.

They put some of it on WWE 24/7. They run old Nitros and Raws there (they put one up every two weeks or so) and throw up a few old PPV's. I watched World War 3 '98 the other night. They had one of the older PPV's up with Dustin Rhodes vs. Blacktop Bully in the King of the Road match

I think the only way we will get a WCW documentry that isn't pro WWE slanted is if one is done independently. Jeremy Borash did do a ECW one that came out the same time that the WWE one was released. While the WWE one ("Rise And Fall Of ECW") is still a worthwhile watch the Borash one ("Forever Hardcore") did go into more detail that the WWE one either skipped over or only touched the surface on.

Okay, I've figured out my issue in fire pro.

I would do the commands more than once. You do the command more than once before the animation and you lose the grapple by default. That's actually pretty slick.

It certainly discourages mashing.

I don't think I'm eloquent enough to defend Firepro from it's detractors but I can testify that once I got the hang of the gameplay, Firepro became more or less the only wrestling series that I could really dig into. King of Colosseum is good too but mostly because it works like a 3d version of Firepro.

Impact thoughts -

The Love-Kong contract signing was awesome, and I dug the Sting promo video where he ran down his history and just how important being in the ring was to him. I'm glad they at least did something for that, because before this show, they did next to nothing to make the possible end of a 20+ year career seem important. Jarrett and Tenay showing outrage at TNA being made a mockery of by Mick and DW, respectively, ruled too, as did DW stating that Jeff's not too tough for wrestling with a hurt hamstring (which apparently finally got around to hurting after appearing to be fine right after it happened) because he hurt his hamstring walking to the announce table.

Quotes -
Ad Guy - BUSINESS ASSOCIATES HAVE BEEN REDUCED TO BITTER RIVALS!
Jarrett - Mick, you’re not FIT TO BE THE TNA CHAMPION!
Foley - In the Asylum, something snapped! SOMETHING REMINDED ME OF HOW MUCH I HATE YOU AND YOUR OLD MAN!
DW - Last week, Daniels pulled a fast one - he switched out of the outfit, made sure someone else was in it, and caught these guys from behind!
Tenay - Still not gonna admit it, are you!?
DW - NEVER!
(to Suicide)Lauren - Who is Suicide?
Suicide - I. Am. Suicide.
DW - Daniels has himself an X division shot! BRILLIANT! HE’S WORKED HIMSELF INTO A TITLE SHOT AGAINST A GUY HE PUT IN THE SUIT!
Tenay - THAT MAY BE THE LAMEST CONSPIRACY THEORY THAT I’VE EVER HEARD ABOUT!
DW - You gotta believe none of what you see and half of what you hear.
Tenay - The Sacrifice pre-show is going to be presented on TNA Wrestling courtesy of LiveContent.com.
DW - THE AMAZING RED IS GONNA BE ON IT AND HE’S ALWAYS A TREAT!
Sting - Three years ago, I walked away. There was nothing more that I had to gain. Nothing more that I had to prove. But I sacrificed it all for one more go-round. It wasn’t the echoes of the fans that called - it was the voice of my soul. This ring defines me. This is where I need to be!
Booker - AJ STYLES, YOUR ASS BETTER BE BIG ENOUGH AND BAD ENOUGH TO TAKE SOME! SUCKA!
Nash - When I was born, the doctor slapped me on the ass - I poked him in the eye! Nation of Violence? I’ve been violent my whole life.
Love - After the match, I’m gonna treat you to a real makeover. Because I’m nice like that. First thing, we’ll get rid of those big…rope things ya got growing out of your melon. Then, I’ll take you to get some real makeup cuz I’m not feelin’ the clown paint on your mug. Then, I’ll get you a new wardrobe cuz you kinda wear that all the time, and that’s gross. THEN, I’M GONNA SEND YOU TO THE BEST FAT FARM IN THE WORLD AND GET YOUR BUTT IN SHAPE! If that doesn’t work, there’s always lipo. After that, we’ll bring you into Mi Pi Sexy and you’ll be one of the Beautiful People and not the hideous beast you are now!
(on Jarrett)Tenay - HE’S WORKING THROUGH THAT HAMSTRING INJURY!
DW - OH COME ON, YOU’D THINK IT WAS A LIFE-THREATENING INJURY! I HURT MY HAMSTRING COMING OUT HERE TO THE ANNOUNCE TABLE!
Tenay - ARE YOU TRYING TO MAKE A MOCKERY OUT OF THIS!?
Foley - I will step into the ring against a household name. He’s known throughout the world. From the city of brotherly love, give a very warm response to the former heavyweight champion of the world, ROCKY… BALBOA!
DW - WOW! ROCKY BALBOA! THE ULTIMATE UNDERDOG! WHO WILL EVER FORGET THE UNFORGETTABLE BATTLE AGAINST CLUBBER LANG!? AND THE RUSSIAN! (as a cardboard cutout is brought out)WOW, HE’S IN SHAPE! I NEVER THOUGHT THIS ICON WOULD STEP FOOT INTO THE IMPACT ZONE!
Tenay - DON, SHUT THE HELL UP! IT’S A CARDBOARD CUTOUT!
Jeff - Mick, you’ve made a mockery out of the promotion I made seven years ago. I’VE GOT ONE THING LEFT TO SAY TO YOU…(he punches him)

Smackdown was really good last night. The main event was obviously MOTN, but Punk vs. Jericho was excellent as well. Really, the whole show was good.

We did not get the announcement of Eve vs. Layla, or the segment with Edge in Long's office with Jericho coming in, and the announcement of Jericho/Rey (Los Angeles feed). Instead, a WWE studio promo by Jack Korpela aired. It went on for 3 minutes or so. He discussed the "Denver Debacle" and announced that Raw and ECW/Smackdown would emanate from Staples this coming week.

And, shitting in the face of the brand separation thing (but this sounds exciting nonetheless), he announced 3 cage matches for Lockdown... er, Smackdown. Edge vs. Jeff, Orton vs. Batista, and Cena vs. Show.
