Changing this to a FAQs for those that need some help getting these deals.

When I order online it shows X price for in store, but changes to Y price at checkout, what gives?
You can only do in store pickup for the clearance price if the item is available for pick up that day. If it isn't the price will be the online price instead. Sometimes the item will be shipped to that store if it is no longer at that store. It may adjust to the clearance price at pickup but it could also charge you full price for it.

Can I buy the item at one store and return / rebuy at another?
Yes but it is up to the stores discretion to allow you to get it for that stores in store price. If it is an online order, they are supposed to return it to the warehouse it came from so you will not be able to buy it back. It's YMMV on employees following this rule though.

Can I price match a Walmart clearance item at X store?
No. No store, including Walmart, PMs clearance prices. YMMV on getting PMs for these items but it is against every stores policy to do so.

I want to price match this clearance item at another Walmart, will they allow me to?
No WM (or any retailer) PMs the prices of other local stores.

BS said X of an item is in stock, but the employee said it isn't at my store, why did they lie to me?
They didn't. Sometimes items are misplaced, stolen, or the count is off. Employees are not all over the massive stock room nor do they know where every item is. Don't harass an employee or come on here saying they are keeping it for themselves. Sometimes, an item truly isn't in the store.

Why is BS always wrong?
BS is not wrong. Their information is directly from WM systems. Just like all stores, inventory and prices may be wrong for a certain store. Do not rely only on BS.

How do I find clearance items?
Go to the store and scan items, check SD, check this thread. Actually look for something you want.

Where in the store are clearance games located?

Clearance items in general can be on shelves, in dedicated clearance sections or in the stock room. For games specifically, they will be in the videogame glass cases, videogame value game isle or dedicated clearance section. It's random and depends on that stores layout / management.

What is the SKU or item number of this item?
Look it up yourself. There is a search function on this site, on BS site and you can Google the item almost 100% of the time. No one needs to spoon feed you this information and we shouldn't have 20 people asking for the same information that was already posted.

Acronyms to know.
WM = Walmart
PM = Price Match
TRU = Toysrus
BS = Brickseek
SD = Slickdeals

"By all means not to be a party pooper, it's just getting tiring for me to check various zip codes when we see these ultra deals when there's literally a 0.05% chance of finding such a deal. I just wish the one single store showing that price was mentioned when a deal like that is posted so hundreds of members aren't wasting their time searching for a needle in a haystack."

Poor snowflake! Triggered that he has to move his mouse and make a few clicks. Maybe a "YMMV" thread just isn't for you.

As pointed out, this deal is out there in several places....I have actually seen it as low as $125 in spots.

I personally was jazzed about the bow deal....a store near me said they had 2, showed up and zero (even the walmart app said the store had inventory, and gave an aisle location).

Talked to the dept manager and she said she was guessing they were stolen by tweakers, who always find new and creative ways to steal stuff.

That's always the general excuse when they can't find something, won't look for it, or it's locked in a cage that someone lost the key to.

So many cynics on this site...

Naw, this lady put forth the effort...went and looked in the back, walked me to the clearance section to look, etc. Her store manager said they didn't carry Bows, but that was wrong as we ultimately found the empty spot with a hang tag on where they were supposed to be.

Still, it wouldn't surprise me if it is some employee squirreled it away to come back and buy it on payday (and then possibly just try to turn around and flip it.

I don't begrudge them....the struggle is real when you are making $10 being a stocker and being limited to the number of hours a week they give you so that you don't get health insurance...being able to hustle and extra $50 here and there becomes a real difference maker.

This would make all the sense in the world except for one thing. This happens with all of the products. From games to 50 cent packs of Unikitty legos. Unless you want to tell me that employees are hiding those also. This isnt the X-Files. No need to call Mulder to help with the great mystery. Its all piled in the back or was counted wrong. No I dont work at Walmart or have stock.

So you clearly have no idea how modern retail works. There are cycle counts, physical inventories, etc. especially oh expensive items. Retailers are required by law to do these and make adjustments accordingly since inventory is a balance sheet item (asset). Inventory is one of the most tightly controlled aspects of retailers, especially for $400 items like we are talking about here. There is little, if any, space in the back to pile up inventory. Space costs money. Holding inventory costs money. Most retailers will tell you that the majority of theft revolves around employee involvement. Often inventory mis-reporting (especially in cases like Walmart) revolves around employees not counting wrong per se, but reporting against the wrong item because they stock many similar items (e.g. counting Visio 55 D series TV's, and reporting it as inventory against E series TV's). In this case, the Bow was a unique item (they don't carry other bow's) so the chance of it being mis-reported is remote..

The only variable in cases like walmart is that each dept manager is likely given an inventory write-off budget...which can encompass discounting, shrinkage, damage, etc. So if a manager has already blown his budget this month, he or she may hold off reporting inventory adjustments for the period (especially if there is a bonus involved for hitting a certain milestone in the period).

Yes. An employee hid the bow instead of buying it on his or her break. They also bought all the 3 cent games and they hid the unikitty legos so they can profit the big bucks.

Yet you can go to several walmarts within a 10 mile radius that say they have said item and never find it. Im assuming that one employee works at both of them or goes there on their time off to hide it instead of buying it then goes back to work. It is not just expensive items that 'disappear'. Its all values.

There is a laptop that shows $99 msrp $300 on brickseek. Says 3 in stock at a nearby walmart. No where to be seen in the store. Yet...it has shown 3 in stock for a month if not longer. Im assuming the employee hid it from himself?

Its a combination of a tired, undervalued or just lazy employee having to deal with a backroom that is mismanaged and full of dust. Reality it is easier to say it doesnt exist than to look for it. If night stockers didnt put it out...then oh well. Not to mention 99% of walmart workers dont even know what brickseek is so if they dont see it on the shelf why shouldnt they say its soldout?

Inventory mistakes and items stored in the back seems to be most common things I have run into at Target, likely similar at Walmart. Theft could be possible as well even high priced and large items like TVs. People can be pretty brazen and simply "walk out the door" with them, which probably explains why some Walmart locations have security and associates at the door checking receipts.

Hell, when I worked for a pet retailer, we had a group of people who had a set routine they used to walk out the door with 2 carts full of 8-10 big bags of dog food.

Likewise, it wasn't out of the realm of possibility for us to do our inventory and find out we were missing $10k-20k in product. It sucks but its why I try not to get mad when their numbers are off at Walmart and Target

The employee I was talking to was saying they will scale the 15 foot fence in the back to get in, and kick out the fire door, etc...desperate tweakers looking for something they steal. She said the most common thing is to steal and then return and get the walmart gift cards which they can spend on anything in the store.

Dude...I guess reading comprehension is apparently not one of your strengths....did you read the part about how she went into the back and looked (commenting that she doubted it was back there...since there was very little inventory in the back these days)? Did you read the part where even the Walmart app said the store had inventory?

You just can't seem to shake the idea that when inventory is off, it MUST be the lazy employees with this imaginary giant pile of stuff in the back where it all resides.

Then why don’t they zero the item from the inventory system? If they have these meth heads on camera “scaling fences” and “kicking out fire doors” .....
I think you work at walmart.

What's the biggest game you can hunt with one of these bows? I'm looking to get one but only if I can take down big game with it. Like lions and cougars and shiet.

In my experience it’s both lazy employees not checking and or pretending to check, or dirt bag employees with piles of items in the back that prevent me from purchasing great clearance items. At the Walmart closest to me the toys guy pulls lego sets off the shelves before they drop and stashes them in the back for when they do drop.

You are right. Instead of in the back employees have a mysterious never ending hole they drop stuff in so they can go back to it when an item is on clearance. They then hack the inventory counter to continue to show inventory. So they dont get caught. So when you come in looking for that huge swing set that shows inventory but is not available you happen to get an employee that is also in on it and they cover for the other employee. They are all pretending to not see a 10ft box in the back so they can split the 20$ evenly. Now that we are on the topic. Maybe I should check craigslist for the unikittys. You seem to be extremely triggered about not finding a bow. Lol!!!

alrighty then the off clearance items are one thing but still ok to an extent but all this other nonsense chatter... Where are the mods to clean this crap up?

Saw that they finally put the couple Epic Mickey collector's editions on clearance last weekend along with a handful of AC/DC Rockband packs which have all sat in the case for for 8-10 years and they were only reduced by like seven bucks. Good luck moving those.

That seems like a good compromise for everyone in this thread. Good idea, Jurai!

Thanks, ThatOneGuyWho. My mother's hurting for a new Verizon smartphone and for fifteen dollars, the Moto E4 is worth a shot. What are the differences between the Moto E4 and the Moto E4 Lite?

(SIGH) Brickseek said there were seven phones, but the guy at the Nogales Wal-Mart claimed they couldn't find anything with that SKU. Thank you, Nogales. You're never not a disappointment.

Not into Transformers, but I've been kicking myself the last two weeks for passing up a $7 Optimus Prime Walmart exclusive that was originally $50. Same goes for the $5 Q-bert mini-arcade I saw.

Been seeing a lot of transformers on clearance aisles lately, didn't save any of them to post though sorry

I'm going to look for the 30 dollar one.
If I find one at a store do you want me to ship you one?

Went to Wal-Mart to look for a copy of Attack on Titan 2 (couldn't find one, was listed as limited availabilty on BS).  The entertainment section of the store was completely redone with new display cases/racks for games and movies.  For the first time ever they actually had a clearance area with some marked down games.  Didn't really notice anything great (lots of DS shovelware and Elder Scrolls Online), but grabbed Everybody's Golf PS4 for $7.

Not a clearance deal but scored a new copy of Amazing Spider-Man 2 for Xbox One for $19.93.
