WARHAWK Preorder $39.99 at TRU!

Sorry for the bump(maybe title needs to change), I just checked my bank statement and the pending charge is now gone. Anyone know if they'll recharge it again or will the deal not go thru?

It's a temporary charge to make sure you have the money. Most retailers do this with preorders. You'll get charged when it goes through.

True, but famvideo has screwed a lot of people over, especially with persona 3.
my friends been waiting 2 weeks for a simple game like Dead Rising.

I preordered the famvid one a couple weeks ago, so I hope they dont manage to mess this up too
 
It was probably dumb, but I canceled my order. I talked to a few guys at work who said they had better results using a wired headset for the PS3 versus the BT one. Since I have a wired I'm just going to get it off of the PSN and save $8 (shipping and tax) plus get it next Tuesday instead of waiting for it to ship.
 
famvid shipped my bioshock preorder on 8/20 and i should be getting it today. too bad I already folded and bought it on launch day haha
 
my TRU preorder's not cancelled so far, so i guess we scored it for $39.99! :) *knock on wood*
 
DAMNIT, I just got it too. I'm not surprised, considering the last time I ordered stuff at toysrus, it took about a week before they sent me the items. Guess i'll have to cancel this damn order.

I could imagine them sitting on it for a while and then sending an email saying it's cancelled out of the blue. For such a big retailer, I'd think they could fill out all the orders. I can't imagine the demand for this being that high. I'm guessing it's just them trying to cover their ass on the price mistake.
 
yea, backordered email here too. i'll just let it sit and wait, i'm not in a rush either. bioshock and persona 3 are both taking up my time.

What's odd is that the game a few days ago originally had a date of 8/30/07 and has since been moved back to the 31st. They did the same thing with my Prime 3 order, so I get the feeling they're stringing out the orders. Wouldn't surprise me since I ordered Warhawk when it was mistakenly up at $39.99 and ordered Prime with the half-off sale on Madden, where I bought a copy for my DS.
 
well, i checked the status today and it says "special order: awaiting inventory". kinda funny cuz if you checked the FAQs for their status messages, that message ain't even in there. makes me wonder if it'll actually be shipped today or ever.
 
has anyone ever been in a similar situation as this with Toys r us before? if so did you end up getting the game? im starting to wonder if its worth waiting...

yes... they canceled my order and said it was an error. i preordered mlb 2k7 the 360 version for 29.99. i guess keep waiting or call the toys r us 1-800 number...

my order is still "awaiting inventory" so it's not cancelled yet. i'll just leave it there. since they still have it on backorder on the main page, i'm not gonna cancel yet.

When they ran their Wii promotion around launch time (something like buy 2 get 1 free + an additional $20 off), they had similar issues. Games were backordered for over a month. After ordering november 23rd, I received my last game on january 3rd - only after threatening to contact the BBB.

I had two Trauma Centers in my order. The one they applied all the discounts to was canceled for being OOS (even though the almost full price version was shipped no problem.) After repeatedly banging my head against a brick wall, I just said **** it. Not worth the hassle. Also not worth ever ordering from them online EVER again. They got a buy 2/get 1 free instore, fine. Otherwise, TRU is dead to me.
 
Thanks for the heads up guys, canceled the order and got it at BB with the 10 percent off coupon. Pretty awesome game might I add.

Damn that is just pathetic. Looks like I made mistake pre-ordering with these clowns :hot:
 
I finally broke down and just bought it at Best Buy. I'm sick of waiting for Toys R Us and their crap. If they ever do end up sending me the game, I will sell it on eBay or something.
 
Everyone should buy Wombat a copy of this great* game!
