lol speaking about lay offs. my sister recently got laid off.

basically, her managers were laid off, and her company hired a new manager, who was my sisters manager in the previous handbag design firm she worked in.

when my sister found out about the new manager, she knew she was doomed. then 4 days later she got fired -_-

i never asked her why her manager fired her though. all i know is that she left the previous company because the recent one offers a higher pay.
 
I love how my playstation 3 took over 2 hours to install all the updates for gran turismo 5 when I put it in for the first time.

Don't get the Torch unless you like overly sensitive touchscreens that pocket dial like crazy. If you're considering smartphones, I recommend the HTC Inspire 4G. $99, 8MP camera, 1ghz processor, and 12GB storage (expandable).

The Torch is $49 though if price is an issue - for $50 more, you can get a spanking new Android Inspire.

Data is 15/mo for 200MB or 25/mo for 2GB. you'll get texts if you're close to going over - I usually recommend starting high and bumping down if need be.

Only had my iPad 2 for a day, but so far I'm pleased as punch. Minotaur Rescue is awesome on this thing. Plays better then on the iPhone, not that it played poorly there or anything. In fact it seems easier on the iPad. Kind of an unfair advantage, really. And Carcassonne. Wow. Amazing on the iPad. Ditto for R.K.'s Samurai. Lots of other stuff I have yet to dive into.

But what's with Facebook? Why not universal or otherwise iPad optimized app? The website works great on the iPad, but that doesn't give notifications and you can't upload photos/videos. So I have to run the unoptimized iPhone app to do that. Lame. There are some 3rd party ones, but they don't seem to provide notifications for some reason.

What about Friendly? Or is that one of the ones that doesn't give notifications? Also, I said it before and I'll say it again ... Garage Band. Now.
 
I installed Friendly, but it doesn't do notifications. :( Apparently it also doesn't let you upload video, but I didn't try that. I was able to upload a photo.

I'm not a musician. The main use I've had for Garageband on my Mac is making ringtones. :) I take it slightly back. I tried to learn guitar and have an electric guitar, I even tried hooking it up to garage band and that was fun. I took some lessons... but I didn't make it. I didn't have the dedication and kept failing to practice. Sigh. I mean to go back to it at some point, but it hasn't happened. :) My son is learning keyboard, but currently our keyboard isn't a midi keyboard, so I don't think that does any good.

The Killing is good. First episode is slow but it really started rolling w/ the second episode. Already looking forward to the new one Sunday night.

I was about to say the same. I caught like 10 minutes towards the end of the last episode when it came on the first time, but I didn't want to ruin it for myself. Good call on the free episodes. I guess only these two are going to be free as a bit of a teaser, huh?

Guys is it i"normal" to date a coworker in an office or corporate job in general? Im interning at viacom and during training there was a segment on dating the employees, and we just have to let the HR know about it. But its allowed. Its pretty nice considering the girls here are all so damn cute, though they're much older than me like 27-29.. And besides I'm 20 and just an intern.. Boohooo

I'm just curious because its the first time in any of my job and internships where a topic on dating is covered in training lol

I feel like I should make it known to them in some way that I'm a virgin, perhaps its a turn on??? But even so I wouldn't do anything anyway.. fuck I'm such a pansy!!

Spent the day mowing the lawn, and then going to Ikea and Target. Shit, Ikea is always crowded and a maze to get through. Got a wooden bed frame for $199.
 
So I went birthday present shopping (for myself) with my mom and decided to finally get myself a pair of Turtle Beaches. I haven't tried it on a game yet, but just testing it on my pc with music I can tell a difference. Gotta say, they're fucking sweet.

Frosty has an Asus also. There are so many freaking models that are 1 model number different that just have 1 component that is *slightly* different and the price is very similar and it's like, well, is it worth the price difference or is the difference so slight, stick with the cheaper one? I'm about ready to just give up and buy one.

Yes, and I've gotten addicted to another type of sleeping pill years ago, but for some reason, this one doesn't make me addicted. But that happens with sleeping pills - you freak out that you won't sleep, so you keep taking them.
 
I really really loved The Shins "Wincing the Night Away" so I was wondering what album(s) by other artists should I look for that are similar?
