Are the buy 2 get 1 free deals listed for best buy just good on the games listed under the best buy part, or is that the EA deal, or is it good on other games?
Cool post. Just one question, why do people think $49.99 as a deal or sale when the regular price is $49.99?
It isn't a deal. But we are grateful that the OP took the time to write up the ads for us, so we don't bitch about stupid things like how the ad listed a game for 49.99.
man i missed paper mario by 1 FREAKING day last rain check expires tuesday game comes in weds. Oh well
If your raincheck is half off get a $50 game that's worth $20+ trade in at Gamestop or EBgames. Then use that trade in value for Mario.

okay i been up 22 hours so im lost. I dont get what your saying
I would still spend the 50. If i buy a game at 50% off 50 bucks its 25 bucks. Trade vaule would be 25 so i dont gain nothing then i got to spend another 25 so im still spending 50

You're always lost, slidecade. Go to bed, sleep with an "English For Dummies" book under your pillow, and give us a break.

Ah I get you... I've never been able to get a rain check before so I wasn't thinking. In effect you'd still be spending $50. Because you're only getting the value back before rain check... You'd still end up spoending $50 bucks.

So I guess I'll say it myself...

It's a trap!

But here's an alternative.... I don't know if this will work...

Can you buy a $50 game with the raincheck, don't open it, and exchange it the next day for Paper Mario? That might work. I don't know Targets Exchange policy.

All you'd be able to do is get the purchase price of the game, discounted by the raincheck, towards Paper Mario 2. The raincheck is used up at time of purchase and the discount doesn't transfer to another game, just the credit, like a normal return.

thers a few ways people om me with but all sounds like ripping off a comapny.

A: Get a game dont open it toss the recept away exchange it at target (the game will ring up at 50 so just exchange it for mario)

B: Trade in 2 games for THUG2 get 30 credit take THUG2 Back weds Get the 30 back and buy Mario for 50 (you can get games for 5 bucks at CC) so final vaule is 30

An Exchange is not ripping off the company.

A) They gave you the raincheck. That is valid and legal.
B) They have a 90 day exchange policy, that is legal.

It would be ripping off the company if you could only use that raincheck on the specific item you requested the raincheck for.

But I've never gotten a raincheck or dealt with the mess of that so I don't know from personal experience.

Why not just get any game of the appropriate price and exchange it a couple days later when the desired title is in stock? No great subterfuge needed. So long as the receipt makes it clear a raincheck was applied it should be possible to get the full value in an exchange situation.
Any of these target games have any good raincheck possibilities??
Getting SRS or Madden ($50 in the system) for $38 would mean that you could get any $50 game for $38 (if they run out and you get a rc) . . . not the worst deal.

I'd use a rc like that to get $40 games like Jak 3 and Ratchet and Clank 3 for about $29 . . . that's pretty cool!

If any of those $16.88 games are normally $30 . . . (a big if, I bet they are all $20 in the system) then you'd get a 44% off raincheck . . . I had a bunch of these from the FFX-2 discount.

A 44% off rc makes a $50 game $28 . . . I got Pikmin 2 and Donkey Konga this way (extra set of bongos for $17). $40 games are $23 . . . I got Sly 2 for this.

All the receipt says on it is the discount percentage, nothing about a raincheck being used. Such as "47% off of $49.99", though nothing about a raincheck.

thanks for the ads Wario and Shrike. might pick up a couple things for ps2 though i wish they were xbox ones.

Just called CC to confirm if Star Ocean 3 was 39.99 and may b get a PM from Bestbuy. But its still 49.99! NOOOO!!! Anyone know when the sale will b in effect?

What games would be good for getting rainchecks for? I don't have time to scan the topic, since I'm tired and need sleep... Thanks
Any of these target games have any good raincheck possibilities??
The Target website has LOTR Return of the king at 29.99, if its the same at B&M that's a pretty decent raincheck.

Since Project Gotham Racing 2 is Live compatible, you can use the $5 off Live software coupon from BB to get it for $11.99 at CC (w/ competitor's coupon).

Target website pricing pretty much never matches in-store pricing. Don't get your hopes up.

I agree, I think that all of the $16.88 games are going to be $20 in their system. But worth looking into . . .

Last week when they discounted $20 games they sold for $16. When they discounted FFX-2 from $30 it sold for $16.88 . . . coincidence???? Yeah.

thanks for tellin me trakan. haha I didn't even notice the date on the thread title

O yea. U guys think they'll let me Pricematch the CC 39.99 for Star Ocean 3 and use the GGC at BB?

When CC has a better price than BB, I go to CC, take the game to Customer Service, and get them to match the Best Buy coupon (be it GGC, or the Live! coupon). Some people have had trouble getting it to work, but it is generally easier taking advantage of one offer (matching competitor coupon) than two (pricematch + coupon). Either way, good luck.

YMMV. Some will som won't. Probably not though, because they are the lowest advertised price.

Hmmm....Mega Man Zero 3 for $19.99 with the GGC or as one of three games with the TRU deal?

Decisions decisions.... :?

Target.com shows Zelda Wind Waker as regularly 49.99, on sale for 16.88. That's a 66% discount. I'll be calling the store on that one today.

If that's the case, then it'll be one nice raincheck to pick up. Unfortunately, I bet they took the intermediate price drop down to $19.99 before they did the price change to $16.88. All depends on what the store tag says for what the raincheck is worth.

Madden ends up being about a 25% raincheck, down to 37.99 from 49.99. Backup raincheck, if nothing else.

Same goes for Everything or Nothing, but both of those titles are now $20 pretty much everywhere else, so chances are low that we'd get a great raincheck out of it.

I visited a Target today, and the price of Wind Waker used to be $49.99. It's a huge ass rain check if it did turn out to work, but I highly doubt it. They also had about 20 PC copies of the game.
