Plus tons of promo materials I've gotten free from my job, lots of standees including Samus from Metroid Prime and Master Chief from Halo 2, and ESPECIALLY my official Xbox Live neon sign.
Would you consider getting rid of some stands? I mean, I'm not going to ask for Samus or Master Chief, i'd never take away something that you love, but do you have any that you just don't care for anymore or don't have room for or will give away in the future? I'd love to buy some from you for a reasonable amount (considering you got them for free).[/quote]
Sorry, but I'm a collector, so I keep all the standees I can get. But if you want promo materials from a game store, here's some advice.
Basically, if you see something you want, just ask the employees (it's more effective if you can talk to the manager). They can say either two things: yes or no. If you're a regular customer or are being courteous, they could take down your name and number so when they are done using the materials, they could get a hold of you so you can pick it up.
But this doesn't always work. They might contact you, or they might not. Maybe an employee wants it. Maybe the manager wants to get rid of it (especially if it's a large standee) as soon as they are told to get rid of it, and doesn't want to hold it for a person who may or may not show up.
Those are just a few of the scenerios I've seen taken place at my game store. It just depends on the people who work there. Don't try this at places like TRU or anything like that, go to EB, Gamestop, Game Crazy etc. Also, reserving something in exchange might also sweeten the deal, since us game store employees are always wanting reservations so corporate doesn't get on our ass.
Anyways, those are just some tips. Just don't go to a store with employees like me who like to hoard promo crap, hehe.
