What was the last CD you bought? - The Sequel

Hip-Hop Quest this weekend:
Murs and 9th Wonder-Murray's Revenge
Army of the Pharaohs-The Torture Papers
Metal Feingers presents Special Herbs The Box Set Vol. 0-9
J-Dilla (Jay Dee)-Welcome 2 Detroit
Chino XL-Poison Pen
The Reavers-Terror Firma

Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Show Your Bones
Darondo - Let My People Go
Grand National - Kicking the National Habit
Silversun Pickups - Pikul

All pretty good so far. Darondo definitely takes me back to the old soul singers (makes sense, I think it was recorded back in the 70's), but I think my favorite of these is Pikul. Very, very good, and I can't wait for the full-length from these guys...

By the way, is anyone going to go to the Soul Position shows that are coming up next month (I think)? I'm going to try to head to the one in Chicago, so if anyone is going to be there, let me know!

The Cardigans - Long Gone Before Daylight

Rob Zombie - Educated Horses
Lacuna Coil - Karmacode
Funny...was just reading an article about how the singer for Lacuna is the hottest chick in metal.

The Who - Tommy

And earlier that day, from a library's used book store...
Hootie and the Blowfish - Cracked Rear View
Bryan Adams - So Far, So Good
Barenaked Ladies - Gordon
Counting Crows - Recovering the Satellites
And the oddball of the bunch...
They Might Be Giants - Here Come the ABCs
I was planning on picking up a few new ones (Ghostface, Rob Zombie, Yeah Yeah Yeahs) today. I wonder if target is still open ...
Got 'em.
Funny...was just reading an article about how the singer for Lacuna is the hottest chick in metal.
She is, not that there's much competition.

Probably going to go for another emusic spin, so will post the 6 or so albums i grab from there.

Karmacode is pretty good, too. I like the Enjoy the Silence cover, though its not as good as Failure's version is.

Wound up checking out a music store I hadn't been to in a while, and bought Avenged Sevenfold - City Of Evil.

Still have yet to listen to Karmacode entirely, but so far, so good. :)

Last CD I bought: KT Tunstall - Eye To The Telescope (I was going to import it, about the time she was getting ready to break-through over here, but I waited for it to come state-side.)
Last CD I listened to: Embrace - This New Day
Death From Above 1979 - Romance Bloody Romance
Mmm-MMM!

Picked up Alice in Chains- Dirt a few weeks back. Man if drugs hadnt taken over Staleys life they would have been the greatest band ever. Many of their songs are damn catchy. I hear they are planning a few shows this summer with a new singer. If it comes round these parts i wanna go. Today i wanna see if i can pick up Facelift and Tripod.

Well, the last CDs I bought were Brian Wilson's What I Really Want For Christmas and Jessica Simpson's ReJoyce: The Christmas Album. Both are awesome holiday albums...I get a big kick out of them, even in April. Brian Wilson has some awesome original tracks on his album, and Jessica's renditions of the old classics are among the greatest to be recorded, in my opinion.

However, the last piece of music I bought was not a CD, but rather a little 7" single of Buck Owens' Hot Dog. Great song from 1988...it's a song I heard on one of those tribute shows following his death, and I loved it right away. Buying it and listening to it about a dozen times yesterday have inspired me to check out the rest of his catalog.

Between these and the SxSW downloads I will be listening to new music for awhile. I think I will subscribe to eMusic because they have alot of independent Hip-Hop and hard to find stuff. This was just from my free trial.

Neverending White Lights - Act 1: Goodbye Friends of the Heavenly Bodies

Excellent, bloody EXCELLENT, for a late night drive, or otherwise chilled atmosphere.

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah - Clap Your Hands Say Yeah

Edit: Argh. I ain't feelin' Pretty Girls Make Graves. They recommended to me, and I was charmed by the group name... but, yuck.

I gave most of the albums acquired a quick listen. Some of it is stand-out. I'll have to give them more time.
