What was the last concert/show you went to?

5/22/09 San Diego, CA at the Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre - No Doubt Summer 2009 Tour with special guest Paramore and the Sounds.

This was my first concert so I can't really compare it to anything, but by my standards it was epic. Paramore actually sounds better live (though I wish they had more time on stage), and the Sounds weren't that bad either. The crowd went crazy when No Doubt came out for the first time, and especially when Gwen Stefani ran into the crowd near the lawn area and sang part of a song (forget which) in the crowd. She also took someone's camera and took a picture with them on stage, and another person gave her a teddy bear.

Oh yeah, and some guy from the pit ran up on stage and jumped off it back into the pit, but no one caught him.:rofl:It was hilarious, and Gwen was like "Kick this guy out, kick this guy out!"

All in all it was an awesome experience and a very classy performance by No Doubt (performed an encore as well). You could tell they were happy to be back together and how much they love their fans. I was just disappointed since I ran out of memory on my camera before No Doubt even performed. "Spiderwebs" was the first song too.:bomb:

Here is what I recorded though (5 songs past the link; HQ sounds better) while trying to avoid people walking in front of me getting to their seats:

I also went to see No Doubt, but it was last Saturday and in Phoenix, Arizona.

My sister got off work at 5:30, the concert started at 7:30, and it takes around 1.5-2 hours to drive up to Phoenix from Tucson. We figured that would give us enough time to drive, park, and get to our seats in time for Paramore since we didn't care about The Sounds. WE WERE WRONG!

Traffic/parking were absolutely ridiculous. We were at the same intersection for like an hour. It also didn't help that it was Memorial Day weekend so everyone was in town. By time we got to the parking lot we could hear Paramore performing so my sisters were disappointed because they really wanted to see them perform. They did sound good from what we heard.

We did get to see No Doubt and we had 5th row seats. They were amazing! The energy was awesome and the band was really into the performance. Highly recommend them in concert if you are a fan. They were one of the bands I've always wanted to see in concert and they did not disappoint.

John Vanderslice with The Morning Benders.

Excellent show. Matthias Bossi from The Book of Knots was drumming for John Vanderslice, and I got to meet him after the show, he's a really cool guy.

Winston Audio - alright
Audrye Sessions - AMAZING, such a short set, I wanted more, the bassist chick was hot as hell and the vocalist had the closest and sweetest thing I've heard next to Muse
Fun(feat. Nate of The Format) - fun no pun intended
Manchester Orchestra - intense and awesome

The last show I went to was Tim and Eric back in January. They certainly put on one hell of a show. I'll be seeing them again next time around.

Next one I'll be going to will be Sonic Youth at the end of the month. Then, hopefully, Elvis Costello and Devo whenever they get around to touring.

Would've been cool to catch them on my bday  i'm tryin to go when they come to SF next Tuesday...damn are there some good tracks on the new CD!
NIN/JA Tour
Camden NJ 6/5/09

NIN was amazing, as always.
I was there too! NIN tore the place down and Jane's were really good too. SO happy I got to hear Mr. Self Destruct, Metal, Heresy, The Downward Spiral and The Line Begins To Blur. A+ show.
Metric, Yeah Yeah Yeahs
*sigh*

So jealous, I've been wanting to catch both those acts for years.
To the guys/gals who saw NIN, do you think they will tour again?
Well, hes touting this as his "Wave Goodbye" tour. It says it on all the merch. Since I bought a shirt with the slogan on it, he better not tour again! Just kidding, but I think it'll be a lengthy break for him. I'll guess 5ish years, the amount of time he took to write his older albums. It's basically because he's getting married, so he needs time away from everything for a little while. Although, I would not count out a Ghosts V-VIII or a Year Zero 2 in the interim without a tour. Too hard to say!

Quiet Comapany and The Rocketboys.

we were in the front row for metric, the set was pretty good.

as for the yeah yeah yeahs, they were on the main stage where there's assigned seating. we were in the back, but in front of all the general admission kids. their set was also good, was also nice to see chicks getting up from their seats and dancing.

The Hand That Feeds
Head Like a Hole
Hurt

Wow, this is going to sound so not hardcore in comparison, but the last concert I saw was Loreena McKennitt in Knoxville, TN. It's been a while, but it was an awesome show.

I'm going with a friend to see Fleetwood Mac in Nashville on the 19th. I'll get back to you on that. Ahem.

Nine Inch Nails and Jane's Addiction. Both were fantastic. Street Sweeper Social Club was damn good as well.

Next concert is Dave Matthews Band in a couple of weeks.
Pelican with ISIS.

Both were outstanding.
I had to miss ISIS last week since it was right in between Buckethead and NIN and I couldn't go to all 3 shows in one week. I'm pissed >

I'm going to ISIS next week. :) I really wish Pelican was opening though.

EDIT: Rabbitt, did Keelhaul open for them? If so, how were they? They're the only opener we're getting here.
i'm going to see them in July... how was it?
It was a pretty good show. No Doubt played the majority of their hits. No new songs. Paramore played half new stuff and half Riot. The only other song outside that was Pressure. They both put on a great performance. The Sounds open for both bands in my town. They put on a pretty good set even though I didn't like their music.

POISON THE WELL

It will be my 6th or 7th time seeing them
I don't know how I could see them without Derek.

Yeah, but I got there right after Keelhaul finished playing.

June 17, Hailey's Club (Denton, TX)

Balmorhea
Tiny Vipers
Mom

Balmorhea was awesome; Tiny Vipers was kind of boring; Mom was interesting, but not spectacular. Also, the venue kind of sucked, since it was basically a bar full of snot-nosed UNT freshmen -- not the kind of place I'd prefer to see bands like Balmorhea and Mom.

Always amazing. I see Ted Leo every opportunity I get, and will continue to do so.
No Doubt/Paramore (this past Sat)
I wanted to see No Doubt until I saw them perform on American Idol and it turned me off totally

Went to the "DMB" show last night and I am also going tonight, but I might try and Craiglist the tickets so I dont have to go again.

Goal is to arrive at opening, I have to make sure I get to boo at Julien K for their vocalist choking on dick on stage a second time.

(I don't like Julien K, can you tell? The already failed opening for MSI, and now Combichrist too. *sigh*)

Squirrel Nut Zippers at GVR (Green Valley Ranch Station Casino) - What a fucking awesome show!! Simply phenomenal. They have a real presence on stage and it was just a great show. They played a bunch of hits, i.e. Hell, My Drag, Ghost of Stephen Foster, etc.), had an encore, and even threw in some requests from the audience. They also played some stuff from Katharine Whalen's solo work, but it was an incredible show. If they come to your town on their limited tour dates/show, then I'd definitely recommend to go see and support them. Also, bring a nice girl along as they clear space to dance to their music, which is loads of fun.

Holy shit. I came.

KMFDM is touring with Angelspit. As in I get to see both in October. With, hopefully, might be speaking too soon, no Julien K.

Dear God, I love this tour so much suddenly.

Ted Leo & the Pharmacists! :) Amazing show, especially since he came back out and played requests from the crowd for the encore.
