So if I'm playing Resident Evil 2 and I want to play Claire's storyline first, how do I do that? I like Leon's mission and all, but they should have given players a choice as to who you play as first.

more like turn based but in the sense of combos and ala parasite eve

The other disc has Claire's story. Just hit the PS button and switch discs to start Claire's half of RE2.

EDIT - And in general, if you can't go back and play old games, I feel fucking bad for you.

Crysis 2 Be Strong Trailer
Deus Ex: Human Revolution Adam Jensen Profile Trailer
For someone who isn't a massive FPS fan (I've been playing them since Wolf 3D, but current gen stuff kind of bores me, too many realistic war games) three of my top games coming out this year are all FPS's.

The more I see of the new Deus Ex game, the less I can wait to play it, it's been a bit over seven years since I played the last one, and even longer since the series was good. But I think I watched the new trailer about ten times (while waiting for a d/l to finish) just checking out backgrounds, and other stuff in the game, other than some spotty glitching in the lip synch, (being picky there) I still think it's going to rock. As long as they went back to basics and took what worked best from the first game, I don't see this one coming out bad.

But as I was saying, Crysis 2 looks really cool (I have the Crysis trilogy sitting on the shelf, never played it yet).

And Duke, what's there to say other than I've been waiting since I saw the E3 1997 trailer for DNF, and it's about time. If I were to gripe about it, it's mostly about the weapon loadout, I was a little sad that it's pretty much a Duke 3D rehash on weapons (except the rail gun) and I was sad to see the assault rifle with scope (and American flag bandanna) get booted in favor of the chain gun.

So yeah, this is the first year in a long time that I've been interested in some FPS games more than anything else.

Nice review for PJS2 Frisky. :applause: I could tell I wasn't in the zone when I played earlier when I kept getting smoked in the first level right off the bat. I know it's more of the same, but hopefully this one doesn't end on a cliffhanger like PJS did.

There's a little bit of a cliffhanger from what I've seen, but it's not leading to another game or DLC since it just suggests getting all of the diamonds to see what happens next.

Yeah I figured something like that, I missed one (19/20) in the first area, so while tedious to get'em all its nice there is a little reward (other than a trophy, I'd assume) awaiting those who manage to collect everything.

It woulda been nice if they would have tied the two games together with some sort of bonus for buying the first game, but I think they put enough into PJS2 to make it worthwhile for it to be a proper sequel, and it's nice they started by calling it chapter 4, that made me crack a smile when I saw that come up earlier. :)

Wow. PSN never has this much stuff I want in a given week.

Dead Space 2 DLC (very surprised it's less than $10)
ModNation Racers
PJ Shooter 2
Vagrant Story (and still probably going to get Xenogears)

Even gamesharing some of it, it starts to add up!

Well looks like I have to go get a PSN card today and get me some Vagrant Story.

I swear, every fucking game I could ever want has been either price dropped, reprinted, or on sale in the past few months (well except for Pilotwings 64, but that's a whole different story).

Another game to the backlog.

So Pac-Man championship is on sale over at XBL but not here?

Also, now that Marvel Pinball has a demo will there be a price drop soon?

They had a community vote on what game/add-on would get a sale on XBL and CE DX won, so I wouldn't have expected a sale on PSN at the same time. If it wins the PSN award, it'll go on sale for 30% or 50% depending on whether you're PS+ or not.

Slam Bolt Scrappers will be out on March 15.

PlayStation Network is feeling the fever…Spring Fever! That’s right, just like in past years, PlayStation Network will celebrate exceptional games during Spring Fever — one of our biggest annual events. Starting next Tuesday, March 8, you’ll be able to find hot PS3 and PSP games at deep discounts and new featured PS3 releases, all downloadable on the PlayStation Store.

This year, however, we’ve added a new twist. As you know, we just concluded voting for our first-ever PlayStation Network Gamers’ Choice Awards, which gave you the chance to vote for your favorite game in four different categories. We’re still in the midst of tallying the final scores, but we’ll be back here on March 7 to announce the winners and kick-off the first week of Spring Fever featuring the winning games on sale at a 30% discount in the PlayStation Store and available for a 50% discount to PlayStation Plus subscribers.

And remember, it doesn’t stop there. Following the one-week sale of our Gamers’ Choice Award winners, we will bring you one new major PS3 release along with a pair of great discounted games each week. Come back here next week to get the full run-down of Spring Fever and find out which games in each category were crowned PlayStation Network Gamers’ Choice Award winners.

Wow...but I'm surprised that Konami didn't jump in and still go through to put the games up, they own it now so...

Another one bites the dust...

I guess Konami will be doing any new localization and whatever else from now on. (waits for Konami-Hudson branded games to be released and eventual Snake/Bomberman team-up game, which would be pretty cool when you think about it :D)

But if NEC co-owns some of that stuff, who actually controls the IP's and whatnot...? (Since I see Hudson soft was the brainchild behind the entire TG16 concept and I know Konami owns them for all intents...)

Anyway, onto something else...Speaking of Scrap Bolters (never heard of it before today) I'm honestly surprised that Sony is pushing games that have the ability to create user generated content, heck even Infamous 2 has the ability to create user generated levels and stuff, I personally don't see too much of this outside of the PS3 though (cause of the HDD) but it seems to be a hard push on their part to make this a new initiative since the imagine tagline went into play.

I hope Konami just has to sort out the legal side of things before putting the TG-16 games on PSN. Seems like the games were ready so it would be a pretty easy cash in wouldn't it?

Hi everyone,

March is chock-full of exclusives for PlayStation Plus subscribers. We’re excited to share that over the next two weeks, our subscribers will be receiving two full game trials, an exclusive demo for Mortal Kombat, and discounts on the PSN Gamers’ Choice Awards winners. So let’s get to the meat of this thing and jump straight into our two upcoming PlayStation Plus publishes.

Brush up on your “finishing moves” because on Tuesday, March 8, PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to download the Mortal Kombat demo.

That’s one week before it’s available to everyone via PlayStation Store.

Battle your way through this fighting adventure and experience the joy of the once-controversial, uber-gorey fatalities. The Mortal Kombat demo will also be offered as an Auto Download, so PlayStation Plus subscribers should have their automatic download feature turned on.

The demo includes four playable characters: Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Johnny Cage and Mileena, along with their Fatalities and X-Ray Attacks; two environments: The Pit and The Living Forest; single player and one-on-one versus modes; and stereoscopic 3D support.

Tell us: which Kombatant will you be fighting as first?

In addition to Mortal Kombat, we are offering a 50% discount on the PSone import Mega Man 3, and 50% discounts on the PSN Gamers’ Choice Awards winners. You voted, and we’re happy to be offering exclusive access and a 50% discount on the Best PSP Game, Best PSN Exclusive Game and Best mini. We’re also offering the Qore March Single Episode to all PlayStation Plus subscribers for free!

On March 15 in our regular publish we will be offering two full game trials: Prince of Persia (Ubisoft) and MAG (SCEA). In Prince of Persia you’ll combat various enemies as they attempt to take over and cleanse ancient Persia of corruption. In MAG (Massive Action Game) you’ll travel to the year 2025 and put your weapons to full use as you lead a private military company through “The Shadow War.”

As always be sure to check the full list of new items as well as items that are being taken down from the PlayStation Plus storefronts below:

it was for me earlier. and when i did get on it wouldnt work right kept getting an error code.
I hope Konami just has to sort out the legal side of things before putting the TG-16 games on PSN. Seems like the games were ready so it would be a pretty easy cash in wouldn't it?
You'd think so, but as I was looking around for answers to my question as to who owns the IP's, unless they were developed solely by Hudson or owned by them then Konami would have to go back and get legal permission to put them on the PSN again.

Really good link to the history of the TG-16
http://www.1up.com/features/20-years-turbografx-16-retrospective?pager.offset=0

It would have made more sense for Konami to let Hudson's US arm operate until all current projects had been put to pasture then close them down as they had planned. So now they'll have to do it internally with Konami US taking over any projects that Hudson was working on, that is if they can even be bothered, since the JPN branches of both companies are still alive and well, but won't meddle in the affairs of what their US subsidiary does.

-----

One more MM game to get released (if I'm not mistaken), since MM4 just came out in the JPN store a few weeks back. On the MK demo, I didn't think they'd put Kratos in as playable or CPU character (obviously).
Is the PSN store down for everyone else? I tried to hop on to download the Yakuza Of the End demo, but the store won't load - neither US nor JPN.
I wasn't on the store, but I was finishing up a demo D/L this afternoon and was having no problems, and it was going up until 3 or 4 CST. So maybe the store fronts are having issues or doing some worldwide update due to security issues.

what else is good to get?
got Modnation Racers -considering inFamous-

just waiting for Hard Corps to be released! -wonder how much would it cost-
what else is good to get?

According to here:

http://www.destructoid.com/konami-slaps-a-price-on-hard-corps-uprising-191478.phtml

"If you guessed "$15," well, you certainly aren't new to this whole console-based digital distribution thing. That's indeed what the new not-Contra game from Arc System Works and Konami will cost."

So if it was $15 on XBLA, then I'd say about the same, hopefully there is a demo to persuade me that it's worth that amount, $10 woulda been my insta-buy price.
....to download the Yakuza Of the End demo...
Oh and Myke, thanks for the heads up on Of the End demo, even though it's gonna take me 17 hours to D/L ... Kinda wished that it was coming out this year instead of Yakuza 4. ;)

I agree, I haven't played much of MAG, but when you are on a good team where it isn't one sided, it's one of the most engaging experiences I faced in a multiplayer shooter.

I got on with a clan a few days ago, and today we're playing Sabo and we dominated so bad that everyone from the opposing team dropped out, all but two players where left. It was the funniest thing I've ever seen before. It sucked at the same time because we still had 16 min left on the clock, and everyone was just running around with nothing to do.
I hope castle crashers goes on sale 9.99 or under and I'm buying.
According to the one link Frisky posted the PSN representative said something (hinting) about the possibility of having all of the choices go on sale during the Spring Fever event starting this week(?), so it looks like everyone will get a chance to pick up what they wanted to get irregardless of what they voted for...seems weird why we voted then, but I'm not going to complain about it. ;)
looking a nice 4.99 game :/
You should just wait and see what drops this week during the sale, otherwise I dunno what to recommend in that price range for ya, at the moment.

Plus what kind of games are you interested in to begin with?

I can see that the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops' new map pack is a big one since it came out on a Friday, has a static ad on the front page of the store, and has over 16k reviews already. By comparison, FF7 has just over 13k and the enduring MKII only has 6k.

The latest free movie rental, Stranger than Fiction, is up now on the video store.

Other free stuff on the video store:

Hikaru no Go - Season 1, Episode 1
MAR - Season 1, Episode 1

shall keep my eyes peeled on the drops this week haha
are the re-release of PSOne Classics any good?
having second thoughts about playing them on a HDTV

You take the role of a professional driver in the Grand Prix mode. Pick one of four teams and one of four car manufacturers, and then race on eight tracks. Each team has its own storyline that plays out between races in conversations with your team liaison, and how well you finish changes what the liaison says to you.

Mega Man 3 – The bad news is that the evil Dr. Wily is back in town, but the good news is that so is the blue bomber Mega Man! Take the controls and make Mega Man run, jump, slide, and blast his way through two massive sections with four stages each.

Damn, down for MM3 and R4. I'm so happy Sony realized what a cool thing DD PSOne games are.

I just hope (probably fruitlessly) that R4 comes with the bonus disc that included the 60 FPS version of Ridge Racer. It was an interesting look at a developer learning the hardware after years of building games for it.
