anyone watch the sky diving trailers...? it's the same people who made the ski sports game, so here's hoping it wont suck.
Are they on PSN? I did not see them.

The PAIN themes were annoying also....

A pretty solid update yesterday. Have we gotten PSX games 3 weeks in a row now, or just 2 out of the last 3? That's like fuckin' rapid fire for SCEA, and I hope it continues. It's also ideal to do things like this - release classic Warhawk to promote PS3 Warhawk while riding on its coattails at the same time.

Toy Home and Snakeball did nothing for me, and I'm glad they offered demos as a result.

Anyway, loads of content yesterday, and hopefully that'll be more common than uncommon. The final DMC4 trailer is totally worth watching, FWIW.

Crash Bandicoot 2 and 3, Jet Moto 2 and 3 should be following soon, since the ESRB.org list them (along with Wipeout XL and Castlevania: Chronicles).
Just got done playing the Snake Ball demo. Well, the world certainly didn't need that.
Ha, I haven't tried the demo, but I will probably agree.

The DMC4 trailer finally made me interested in the game. Doesn't look like anything special, just a PS2 game with high rez graphics, but the graphics are too good to ignore.

And why is the Shakira video 10+ mins long?
I guess that's nice, but I could only stomach 1 minute of it.
Even with all her gyrations.

I must have missed Castlevania: Chronicles being rerated, I hope its $6 since the original release was budget priced to begin with, but I have a feeling it will be $10 like Symphony of the Night. Either way it will be nice not having to pay a whole lot less than the eBay price on that game.
 I'm assuming that's sarcasm. either that or my sense of humor needs some work.
Hehe, no, it's a way to glitch the game into using analog sticks for control.

Same with Lair.

hmmm... makes me wonder if Toy Home works via remote play.

are the analog controls good? if so, I'll bite since I enjoyed it but hated the motion controls.

They're good. They're a little wide for my tastes, but I don't have any problem driving the car where I want to go when I want to go there. It makes driving so much easier and crashing into things much more fun.

It turned Toy Home from a "nice idea but I dunno" into "I will buy it (though not necessarily right now)".

Is that Shakira thing worth d/ling? I ask because I really enjoy watching her move her... yeah, so if there is a lot of that and she looks hot I think I'll d/l it. Dallow help me out here... ;)
There is a lot of that.

Yeah, it's like 10 minutes long, plenty of gyrations so you'll be smiling.
Awesome, thanks you guys. :)
a local pizza place had the shakira dvd on their 40 inch a few months ago that i was at... let's just say i had a hard time making myself chew.
Lol, tell me about it. The music isn't the greatest thing in the world, but I can tolerate it. Also I find the mute button seems to work pretty well. ;)

It's hard to explain the best way to control it. Definitely a lot of fun, but I wish I could select which stage I want to play.
So I'm thinking of buying Puzzle Fighter, but what am I getting that's not in the demo besides online?
The other play modes for single and multiplayer and more characters. There's very little action online, so don't expect much there. Get it for local multiplayer if anything.

I'm thinking of purchasing Super Stardust HD, but I hear there is a update coming soon. Should I buy now, and later the update, or should I wait for a bundle?
TMK's new avatar is creeping me out...
You are not the first to say it. It comes from NiGHTs: Journey of Dreams (the game I badly want the most right now and going crazy without it right now).

Anyway, I'm thinking Dark Mist might come, since the Asia PS Store just got it (It has English voices). PixelJunk Monsters and Wipeout HD is also due in January, so it will be interesting to see what we get in the next update.

Euro store update:

SSHD demo with upgade (custom soundtracks and more)
The Club demo:
oh nice! been wanting to try out The Club :)

and yes, TMK's new "Nights boy" avatar is super creepy.
Maybe I should put it back up then. ;)

Anyway, I also heard there's a Super Stardust HD upgrade and demo out this week in Europe. I hope the demo comes stateside, so people will see how awesome the game is and buy it. ;) Hopefully with PSN cards coming soon, people will have to get it. :p I can't wait for the upgrade though.

Great news. Even greater because the upgrade is FREE, though I would gladly have paid for splitscreen multiplayer. (Anyone know if online multiplayer is included?) I just wish it didn't take so long to play a game of this. A top 10 personal high score list would be nice, just so I don't feel like my non-recordbreaking games are a wasted effort.

Thanks for the heads up, dallow. I've been looking forward to the Club for a long time and I'm glad to see that it's as good as I'd hoped. Definitely a day-one purchase for me.

Gotta check out Super Stardust HD too.

Japan PSN got *9* new PSX games yesterday, including Baroque (which has a highly anticipated remake coming for the Wii), Crime Crackers 2, Resident Evil 2, INTELLIGENT QUBE, Magical Drop, and some others I forgot or couldn't read.

Also added are some promo videos, including a new Ryu Ga Gotoku Kenzan video.

EDIT: I don't know what's going on with the bikini girls in 17th century Japan, but it appears it's just one more thing that will ensure that the game, and the PS3 as well, will sell like a motherfucker come early March.

My excitement over the free SSHD update may have been a little premature. Based on a comment on Kotaku, it sounds like the update just adds support for future upgrades via the PS Store, which sounds like... microtransactions! (Yes, I did also say I wouldn't mind paying for SSHD stuff, but ooh, now I'm so confused.)

Anyone with the European version who can clarify?
and again Sony Japan mocks us... damn arses.
Although they may get good PS1 games, they get very few demos (while we get more). Kind of hard to say which I prefer (probably demos).
From what I remember, the update added custom soundtracks and revised a few things with the game. There was a shop added for single player and multi-player, I remember being mentioned. I started a thread about it here.

EDIT: I guess I did not start a thread here about it.

Dear Sony,
I will also pay your named price for I Qube. I was just thinking the other day how I regret never buying it after how much I enjoyed the demo.
Dear Sony,

I'll be surprised if SCEA puts up Intelligent Qube, but we'll see (mostly because of how the game sold here in NA). I hope they do though. I know Japan had to wait for it because they released a bundle of that and another on PSP in Japan.

Oh yeah, when looking at the ESRB, PixelJunk Monsters, Go! Sports Skydiving, and Tori-Emaki are listed, so I expect them shortly. Dark Mist and Wipeout HD are not listed, so they will probably come later.

The Club is...interesting. It's definitely an arcadey shooter where the levels are split up into different types of events. The ones in the demo are a racing shooter level (moving through a cyclical level so many laps with time remaining and as many points as possible) and a more straight-up action level (beginning to end with as many points as possible). It's all about fast and precise shooting, not much tactical action here, just shoot and move on. I'm not sure what the other level types are, but it's an interesting game that I'll keep an eye on in the busy first quarter of 08.
I'll be surprised if SCEA puts up Intelligent Qube
I'll be surprised if SCEA does a goddamned thing ever with the PSN. These table scraps they offer up (and I'm fully aware that last week's update was huge) are bullshit, and serve to reinforce the idea that XBL is vastly superior.

XBL has had the newest 5 or 6 Rock Band songs for almost a week, and PSN won't see them, at earliest, for another week. XBL has had the latest GHIII songpack for over a week, and again, PSN is lacking. They make themselves look second rate.

Wii's VC offers up rare stuff from time to time. That's the beauty of digital distribution, darlin'. They don't *have* to be big sellers, because there's no cost in distribution (bandwidth notwithstanding). They are no longer risking having a warehouse full of IQ discs, because there is no longer a warehouse. Just one server that can meet the needs of any and every customer who wants a copy, whether that's 100 people of 100,000 people.

There is, again **NO** excuse for the lack of offerings on the PSN, both in terms of delayed add-ons, delayed demos, and nonexistent PSX download support. Instead we get bandwidth devoted to hyping some new bullshit Paramount movie when Paramount was the fuckin' studio that backstabbed Sony for a payoff, prolonging the format war needlessly.

So stop with your fuckin' excuses.
