I'm pretty sure most people here don't like Gamespot in general, but I've always though it was mostly unoffensive. The new design is going to take some getting used to, though.

Im using AOL...still looks the same to me :whistle2:k...did you use the ice on feature ? that makes the site look blue and out of wack :puke:

I like it, I agree that to much stuff is on the front page it does look overloaded and half of the stuff on the front page is not all that important IMO.

Ugh, yet another step in the wrong direction from Gamespot. Two years ago they were my favorite site for news and updates. I also enjoyed the sites layout, and how that had the top 10 most popular games for each system. Then the redesign came. Not only was it worse, but the quality of their content went down as well.

This new redesign looks terrible, they're obviously trying to have a blog-style look going for them, but that site was not meant for that layout.

Its looks like crap. Even though i hate IGNs reviews and what not, for news i rather go there. There design to me is better

Very terrible. Ugly. I like Gamespot for reviews(even though they dont know how to reveiw games)/previews but not for News. I go 1up for News.
seems like they're trying to cram too much onto the front page
Yeah..

I only goto gamespot for their reviews, movies and rumor control so I dont really care.

Thats a really retarded way to look at it.

One thing I'd say to Gamespot: "Why cram everything into 2/3rds of the page just to have background advertising?" It's cramped on the front. If they spread it out, it would be fine. The profile section seems to put the blogs front and center when that's not what I liked about it before, which was to give stats and such and allow for easy access to collection, wish lists, reviews, and such. It's all still there, just not in the nice way it was before. Otherwise, I like it.
being a 3+ year member with them, I would have to say the main site is cool. But the forums are crappy as shit.
Same here but I think that everything should be back to normal in a few days. The previous forums were also buggy as hell when they first came out.

I loved their design from 2001. I thought it was perfect. Every redesign keeps getting worse and worse, though I can still live with it.

Explain why thats a reatrted way to look at it?? IGN is one of there main competitors and overall they have a better lay out the gamespot thats all im saying. The changes they made in my opinion suck

It still sucks, and they still have shit reviews, and it is still time consuming to find said reviews.

At least IGN has a well designed site.

I wasn't aware that GameSpot was this hated. I've almost always agree with their reviews.

The new layout is OK, I guess. I like the old one better. This one looks more like TV.com (owned by the same company).

I actually don't venture away from this site much. I don't know what Gamespot used to look like, I only use Gamefaqs's for their FAQ's, and I only use IGN for their game collection tracker. And yeah, their frontpage is crammed!
Damn, there's a lot of IGN fanboys here...
And you are a ... gamespot fanboy?

that was such a "Look at me! Im a tool!" post.

Gamespot HAS steadily gone down hill, revising there site more and more to look like the rest of cnets pages...which is no longer a good thing. Hell, i remember when Download.com was an easy to browse web site for patches and shareware. Oops.

usually when i'm checkin' a game out, i'd go type it on search, read the review, then click on the "discuss it" link to check the forums take on the game.

with the redesign, i can still see thre review, but i cant figure out how to get to the forum.

so i dont like it....so far

If you're that riled up about the comment I made then we clearly know who the fanboy is. ;)
