Which TV Series should I watch next?

I had a tough time choosing, but i voted battlestar over alias. i love JJ abrams (writer/creator/director/producer: alias, felicity, lost) and alias is a top notch spy show, best i've ever seen anyway, in season one and two. the chracters are what get me in all JJ's shows. they are all very interesting and deep, and he makes you care about villains (see: sloan, ben, zack(i think?-pseudo-rapist on felicity). are they really evil? anyways, sorry for ranting. battlestar is hands down the best work of sci fi i've ever seen. it's a great plot that stands it's own for two seasons. Watch both, but battlestar first.

great list of shows you have there...I watch pretty much all of them except for stargate...I would take alias and dead zone off the list. Battlestar, the wire, the shield and the 4400 you really can't go wrong...deadwood was solid but there is only 2 seasons....depends on what kind of show you want to watch...my vote is on the wire and the shield

You should watch the BG miniseries first before deciding a concrete answer on the entire series. You're talking about watching these shows on dvd/torrent?

Without a doubt Deadwood. I noticed Rome wasnt on your list? Have you been watching that? If not you absolutely should watch that after Deadwood.

I voted SG-1, which absolutely won't win because it gets a lot of hate around here, but is one of the best sci-fi shows on television.

I'd also highly recommend The Shield and Deadwood from your list. And I'll second that write-in vote for Veronica Mars. I just finished season 2, and now I can't wait for season 3 to hit dvd.

EDIT: What order does one watch BG in anyway? I think I remember reading around here before that there's something you need to watch before season 1, like a movie or something.

If I get into Rome it will have to be on DVD

I like the naked ladies, but the show just didn't hold my attention past the first episode....

...............

so, right now in my Netflix queue i have

Battlestar Galactica
The Shield
Prison Break

waiting to see how the rest fall out
I'm willing to give Jericho another chance, but the impromptu tracheotomy using a pen, on the schoolbus in the premiere kinda turned me off a little

does it go interesting places? it IS a good set up/premise
Id skip it. They are doing what Lost has done on its second and third season and progress the story very little throughout every episode and they rely on stupid drama to make up a majority of most episodes.

yeah that was the vibe i was getting from the commercials

it just seems like an excuse to sell air time more than anything, to me

i could be wrong though

I would give it a shot if you have time. Its not bad by any means, I mean 3 or 4 episodes were fantastic. When they actually do unravel plot it can be quite good. There is just to much fluff and drama in most of the episodes. Do you watch Lost? If you have seen all 3 seasons you will know what Im talking about (Lost 2 and 3= drama shit, little progress)

another good series if you havent seen it is six feet under. it can be a bit graphic with all the corpses but the humor of it and their life stories can be pretty funny and entertaining. sucks they ended it so soon but hbo has an odd thing about ending shows early. hell alot of hbo shows are pretty cool and they have something for everybody. entourage is a good one too. long story short if you have cable get the on demand option because they have all of their series up for veiwing all the time. every month they update things with older or newer episodes. its not cheap but its worth it unless you want to own them.

6FU is one of the only ONLY shows i've ever truly watched from the first broadcast episode, all the way through.

i missed maybe three of them during the entire run. :) (i still remember thinking, when nate and brenda hooked up for the first time. "Ah... her character will be long gone in three or four weeks..." hahaha)

and i will admit that i got choked up a bit during the finale

probably the true test of greatness for this show for me was that, at first i hated keith and david's characters. they felt tacked on and really lame to me.

but by the third season or so they were my favorite characters on the show. well, ruth always kicked ass. but david & keith really grew on me.

the only person on that show i really didn't like was claire's first bf. the one with the long face.

r.i.p. 6FU
I have seen Rome, I don't know what is so amazing about it.
yeah my mind wanders when that show is on

The second season of Rome was better than the first IMO. The acting and character development are brilliant. I didn't find the first episode all that interesting, but began to like it later after seeing some re-runs. Naked chicks everywhere is a bonus as well.

Sadly most porns have a better writen storyline than Rome ever did. So if you want naked then watch a porn.

I respectfully disagree with the first part of that statement.

I'll wholeheartedly agree with Prison Break's first season being excellent. Give it a shot, you'll probably be way into it.

I tried getting into Jericho, but I just couldn't. After a few episodes, I just got bored.

The Dead Zone's pretty underrated as well. Solid stuff.
