Who will win the big ALCS rematch?
Look at Arroyo's numbers. 6th in the AL in WHIP. 8th in the AL in OPP AVG. He's average against lefties but he's not a bad pitcher.
You Sox fans are clouded by euphoria. You will never win. Ever.

Oh, and Arroyo sucks ass.

The middle finger in my avatar is just for you tonight.

Actually, its for Manny trying to take 3rd, and Francoma using his worst two pitchers in a close game, and for using Embree after the game was over. Not enough fingers left over for you. Heh, they said we'd be begging for Grady back by now... They were right.

Did you hear the story about Bonds today?

It's time to be realistic, the Red Sox are not going to the World Series this year.

I just hope the Cardinals/Astros tear the Yankees a new one.

It's for the Red Sox. Because they suck. They will never get over the curse. Ever.

What about Bonds?
I have this terrible feeling the Yanks are just destined to go back to the World Series again. Either way, Mister Ed liked watching the Dodgers on tv, but now that they're out... oh the hell with it go Sox.
I looks like its going to be that way with that 19 run blowout. It also looks like Derick Jeeter is evil, go figure.

Thank you David Ortiz. Makes me wish you were still with the Twins. But since that's not the case, try and help those Red Sox somehow get three more like tonight.

Why couldn't the Red Sox just let themselves be swept. This just makes all the more difficult for the fans when they blow it. And besides, I have too much work to do to be watching baseball everynight for 4 and half hours.

Well, I guess it wouldn't be October if the Sox didn't find some way to give us all hope again to only have it crushed it the most horrible way possible. What can I say though; I'm a hopeless sucker and I'll let myself get taken in every time.

Big Papi does it again...

No one has ever come back from being down 3-0 in baseball. But no AL team has even won game 4 after losing the first 3. Pedro and Schilling go the next two. Both bullpens are blown. This'll be a great series.

Speaking of not coming back from 3-0 to win the series in baseball, I don't think anyone has come back from 3-0 in a 7 games series in any other North American major team sport.

Although it would be cool if it happened.

I hope Pedro and Schilling have good outings. The later relief by Sox pitchers (Foulke, Leskanic) gave a reason to hope in spite of game 3's misery... Yes, no baseball team has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit. But only 5/25 have ever forced a game 5. 2/25 have forced a game 6, and no team has ever forced a game 7.
And if you take into account hockey and baskeball, only 2 teams out of over 200 have every come back to win a series after being down 3-0 and both of those were in hockey.
there is still something about how the sox won tonight that gave me a glimpse of hope (however foolish that may be)

Well I found out that yes, 2 times it has happened.

TSN

The Avalanche are halfway to the third comeback from an 0-3 series deficit in NHL history - and after San Jose's confused, tentative play in Game 5, Colorado seems quite capable of the first such rally since 1975, when the New York Islanders accomplished the feat.

But the Avs didn't do it. But it HAS been done in North American sports.

EDIT: Beat me to it, adamada. D'OH!

Royals over Cardinals, 1985 world series? I can't remember if it was 3-0 or just 3-1.

yeah, that was a sweet win for boston 2 days in a row. ive never followed baseball, due to the fact that ive hated it for years since i was so amazingly awful at it as a child, but i just cant pull myself away from the whole boston / new york matchup, and how it seems to play out each year. good job boston, now just continue to make history and win 2 more times

Well unfortunately they still got two games left.

The good news is the Red Sox have already done the unthinkable, giving us all a reason to smile after their first three losses.

Can't diss the Sox for what they did tonight and last night, Ortiz is simply amazing.

3-1.

 People are still voting Sox?

Unless Schilling is 100%, the Sox have no chance. They will most likely not let him pitch deep, and neither team has a bullpen right now. 26 innings in 27 hours. There is a very small glimmer of hope, but with the Bambino watching, you guys have no chance. Let us not forget the Sox are 0-2 at the Stadium this series.

Holy shit...I just read on espn.com that as of 11pm eastern the Yankees have aquired David Ortiz in exchange for Tony Clark and 1 billion cash.

From a proud New Yorker, F the Yankees, go Sox.

1 billion, eh? ;)

Big Papi AGAIN....

Curt Schilling goes tomorrow, and his ankle is "feeling good". Keep in mind, he pitched with the injury against the Angels and did great. This type of injury can't get better or worse within a short period of time, it all hangs on if his ankle brace can keep it stable. If it can, and especially because of how little he pitched in his last start, he can easily go 9. Schilling is an emotional guy and he really has something to prove, and he knows he let the team down last time.

Both bullpens are completely blown... At least that means we won't see Rivera, not that he scares us anymore.

Schilling is a self-absorbed piece of shit. This whole thing has been about him, no the Red Sox.
Since my Cubs never made it, I'll go with the other cursed team. Go Boston!
Good another cubs fan, yeah Im going for the team who never wins, always root for the underdog

Uh, no, sorry, don't think so. He's as self absorbed and all about "me" as Barry Bonds is.

At least Sheffield admitted to taking steroids. Although he says that he did not know they were steroids,at least he admitted to his wrongdoing.

Sheffield is full of crap there is no way someone would pay as much for the items he claimed he got
Unlike that piece of shit x2 Bonds.
We can agree there hate that guy it will be a shame if he takes the HR record from a class act like Hank Aaron

Now, that was amazing. What the hell was A-Rod thinking?

4-2 Boston right now, because of A-Rod's stupid move!

Wtf was A-Rod thinking. Awesome non-bias by the umps... except for the first base ump. A-Rod didn't even touch first base!
Wtf was A-Rod thinking. Awesome non-bias by the umps... except for the first base ump. A-Rod didn't even touch first base!
SAFE!!!!!

Let me be the first to say, good sportsmanship A-Rod, way to be a class act. Very nice Yankee fans, throwing objects onto the field....very classy as well. Ignorant SOBs.

lol. 2 other threads were just made about A-Rod's play. I guess this will be quite a big deal come tomorrow.

Before we start persecuting Yankee fans, you have to realize that its not like all 55,000 fans threw balls on the field. It was just a couple of bad apples, every team, city, and stadium has them. And even though, A-Rod clearly took a swipe, you can't blame for trying to get the call changed.

I think it's all in good fun (the posting) although it does take away from the game when fans throw objects. And, a superstar like A-Rod should try to set a better example than by blatantly trying to cheat.
