It's been ages since I've seen that thread. Talk about a blast from the past...
I have it bookmarked, but I can't read most of it until I get off of dial-up.

I mostly just want to find the IWTM Army communiqués.

LOL. I was waiting for another post like that........at least if it keeps getting "delayed" I'll still get a few laughs.

Silver Montana Guacamole?
For fuck's sake.
Well, at least we know it's intentional now.

I think.

There is a reason why he's been on my ignore list in the past, though, and overwhelming stupidity is a likely cause. :whistle2:k

^ should have expected that coming from StinkyCheese.......

so what else can we expect to see this next week besides SMG? What else is sitting on the shelf waiting to be released? I know there's Mega Man 9.....there have to be a few more WiiWare games that publishers have announced releases for that aren't out yet. Alien Crush and Bomberman are months away I'm sure.

A hockey Wiiware game? could be interesting. Space Invaders? de Blob?

I miss the days of the early leak.......

^ I read on joystiq the other day that a remake of Alien Crush is coming to WiiWare in Japan - given that Bionic Commando was turned down from a NA VC release (which, this being a total guess on my part, was due to Nintendo not wanting to look like chumps getting the 8-bit BC while the other two got the updated remakes), if a remake of Alien Crush is coming, I don't know if we'll get the original.

On another note, I thought Alien Crush already was released. I know Devil's was.
Bomberman & Tetris WiiWare need to come.
AS WELL AS SUPER MARIO GAME
ITS SPICY MEXICAN GORGONZOLA.

I know these things :nottalking:

This week, Europe got Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa - NES/600 Points, Dig Dug - NES/600 Points, Critter Round-Up - WiiWare/1000 Points, and MaBoShi: The Three Shape Arcade - WiiWare/800 Points.

Yeah Alien Crush has been on the VC for a while now.

So the original and remake will be available. :whistle2:k

Is it a remake or a sequel?

According to 1up, and the name of the game, it's a sequel.....sounds interesting with the DLC and multi-player.

...........gamers who are more interested in a sci-fi pinball game based on the ultimate in TurboGrafx-16 nostalgia, should look no further than Alien Crush Returns. Making its debut on the Wii, this sequel brings back the two-screen pinball tables of the classic Alien. Play pauses for a moment as the screens change when the ball goes from one the other. To go with the sci-fi themed alien backgrounds the game also features special pinball powers like Boost, Reverse, and Split. Online play for up to four is also part of the plan with two modes: one where you race to be the first to score a certain number of points, and the other a timed mode with the winner being whomeever has the high score when time expires. Plans also call for future downloadable content with the addition of new stages and action balls to help round out your game and keep you interested.
Hey now, be nice. At least effort went into it. *glares at SPOGS racing*
Dont worry, its okay. They guy who made it isnt posting here anymore, so we can make fun of it all we want.

Maybe lilboo will feel better about SMRPG when he sees this weeks releases for Europe*. Sound familiar? Thats because they were on american shop channels months ago.

*I've never said it in the past, but thanks a bunch for posting our VC games for the week, MisterModest. Saves me a trip to the shop channel :D So, thumbs up for that :bouncy:

Japanese Virtual Console list - September 2008

Famicom:

 • Tantei Jinguuji Saburo: Yokohama Minato Renzoku Satsujin Jiken (September 2nd)
 • Wagyan Land
Super Famicom:

Nintendo 64:

Mega Drive:

 • Sorcerian
 • Forgotten Worlds
 • Hokuto no Ken (Modified and released outside Japan as Last Battle, but, as the modified version of the Master System Hokuto no Ken hasn't been released outside Japan yet, we'll hold off on adding this for now!)
PC Engine:

 • The Ninja Warriors
 • Nekketsu Kōkō Dodgeball Bu: PC Bangai Hen (The PC Engine port of Super Dodge Ball)
 • Final Blaster
 • Mizubaku Adventure
Holy shit WTF

Secret of Mana HOLY fuck.

Square finally coming around to the VC?

Or proof they were never going to remake it?

Or both?

I'll get Cho Aniki for the pure wtf factor.

Sorcerian looks interesting, but it looks like there is an upgraded PC Engine version that is graphically smoother than the Megadrive one (though I only skimmed the Hardcore Gaming page on it). Another case of "why give us version X when Y looks superior."

Cho Aniki, Can't wait!

But Secret of Mana? :shock::shock::shock::shock:

DO WANT. OHHHHHH YES DO WANT.

Mario Golf too, eh? I never played Mario Golf 64 to be honest. I don't care, though. I rather have Mario PARTY :bomb:

Anyone one remotely thinking of picking Ys up should do it. I loved it back when I was playing it on the Turbo Grafx, and I still love it playing it on my PSP now.

It got a pretty good remake on the PS2 although that was kept in Japan, but the music is awesome and although it's a relatively simple combat system, everything about it just makes it that much more fun.

This is probably my favorite old school RPG and the one VC release I've been waiting FOREVER for even though I've passed it like a bagillion times.

There's something about the village music near the beginning of Secret of Mana that pulls me in. (It's featured at the beginning of this clip...)

Certainly not the best RPG ever and definitely not a grade A tune, but dammit if I don't want to spend forever grocery shopping in the store that plays that village music over the PA. Seems to me like it would be great tunes for the produce aisle.

If the produce section stock boys were instead androgynous midgets, boy, you'd have an experience pretty damn close to SoM.

Is Ys Book I & II any good? Does it compare to soul blazer? I love soul blazer. I love secret of mana too. I just remember there are a really old game named lagoon. The main character wields a sword the size of a toothpick.

Hmm so we are going to get this week...

Wiiware
Rocking Chair Adventures

VC
NES- Color a Dinosaur

SNES- Captain Novalin

If there is no SMRPG this week I am going to want to go ballistic on those fuckers. I had enough of this shit. Plus Spore comes out the week after so I would not play it (no offense but it is fucking spore), until I logged enough hours into Spore.

Soon...maybe Nintendo will port this game:

PC-Big-Rigs-Over-the-Road-R.gif

Yourewinner-38601.jpg

I know, it's not going to happen, but considering all the crappy treatment we're getting regarding...especially no more news leaks on upcoming games.

I somehow doubt we'll get anything good this week, because we just got Ys 1 & 2 this past week. Two good weeks in a row seem unlikely anymore.

Regardless of what we get, I'm not going to be too happy with the VC until the week they put up Earthbound, so pretty much never.

If they do put up SMRPG... I'm not sure I'll get it, at least not right away. Space is starting to get tight, and I've never been the biggest SMRPG fan anyway. It is a great game(in those days, Square pretty much wasn't capable of producing anything less), but I've always liked the Mario & Luigi and Paper Mario games better. I think it's because they fit the "Mario universe" better, but I'm not sure what it is.

Still, SMRPG will always have a place among the classics, if for no other reason than it introduced the now standard Mario RPG battles, which are turn based but still give you the feel of an action platformer. Ok, I described that oddly, but everyone who's ever played SMRPG knows what I mean.
