I've been holding out on Shovel Knight until I got a Wii U. Bought a Wii U a little over a week ago, and now the games on sale. Seems like good timing. Thought about waiting on the PS4 version, but that might end up going PSPlus(free or on sale)eventually.

Anyone know if I can buy Shovel Knight through the webstore or something?  I'm away from my Wii U this week and don't want to miss the sale...

Resident Evil: Revelations 3DS or Shovel Knight Wii U? I only have $12 left. :wall:
I would say Shovel Knight. Revelations is available in physical form and it would a lot of space in your SD card (I don't think it matters if you have an SD bigger than 16GB though). Shovel Knight is a better game anyway IMO.

Has anyone seen a cheaper physical DuckTales game than the $6.75? I saw Target's clearance thread with $9.99 I believe.  Was that  readily available physical or was it a limited run making physical deals scarce?

No dude, I've kept my eye on that forever and never seen less than $12. Its free Ps+ next month so I guess I won't be getting this for my Wii U anyway

Really impressed with Shovel Knight. They took elements from all the best NES games and still somehow made an original game. Lots of references to the old school classics. I'm sure I'll spot more on other playthroughs. Only negative is the few auto scroller sections. I've always hated auto scroller stages in platformers....but even those were kinda fun.

No one says it but isn't it like Megaman? If you don't enjoy Megaman...

Just as I tried to purchase Shovel Knight, my damned Gamepad started going nuts. I was able to get the game to work but I can only use the Pro Controller. I hope I don't have to send the system to Nintendo for repair. Anybody know what happens to your downloads if they have to repair your Wii U?
You should get your digital games back, but your game saves... don't get your hopes up that you'll keep them.

There's definitely some Megaman influence, but not too much. It has a lot of influence from NES classics( Mario 3 world map, Castlevainia stage settings , ghost and goblins backdrops, Ninja Gaiden cut screens, even Dark Souls with bonfires in between stages, when you die you lose some money but can get it back if you make it back to it. ) , but it really is it's own original thing. I would say it's easier than all those games though. My first playthrough took me less then six hours to beat and i died a little more than 80 times.

Is it possible to purchase something on the eShop even if I'm out of memory and just download it later or do I actually have to delete stuff first?

Urgh, came up 8 points short in DDP. I must have miscalculated. Sucks, because I wouldn't have bought most of what I did.
I came up 1 point short. Needed 236 pts. ($23.60) and I spent $23.95 (239 pts.). But didn't realize that because four of the items were $0.99 (Hyrule Warriors costume DLC), that they would be rounded down to 9 pts. each. I called into Nintendo to see if they'll do anything and their support team is supposed to get back to me in a few days. Fingers crossed...

9 points short for me, that's what I get for drinking heavily the last few days while buying digital games. Thank god I couldn't find my wallet at one point during the Steam sale hah.

Had some leftover eShop credit so I double-dipped on Shovel Knight. Still bitter there's no cross-buy discount of any kind, but I love this game so much that it's easily worth $10.

Fired it up and I'm in love with it all over again, plus it looks so much nicer on a big, bright monitor. Tons of charm and detail I didn't really appreciate as much when I played it on the 3DS. Will gladly buy again on the Vita.

Yeah, every time I play it there's some new thing that makes me appreciate it even more. I know I really won't play it much on Wii U so I'll double dip on Vita.

Hey ya'll, if any of you are into crowdfunding and missed out on backing Hollow Knight, it looks like they're still accepting pledges for the Wii U version at $15 AUD (around $12 USD). Games like this are typically priced $15 USD, so it's an easy way to potentially save a few bucks while helping the game get a bit more content. Not a huge savings, but likely around 20% on release is nice.

Or if you wanna know more about this game, check out their site: http://teamcherry.com.au
Pretty much a darker, metroidvania Shovel Knight. Even has the shovel knight team's support, too. Pretty excited for this one.

Any I should explicitly avoid? There's like 8 or so, I don't imagine they're all gems.
Everyone else has said their piece but yeah the GBA ones, 1 & 3 from NES, & 4 plus Dracula X on SNES. Dracula X is the best value as $7 digital is better than $160 SNES cart.

Someone has made a "fixed" Simon's Quest hack on an NES cart that fixes many of that games issues. It was features a couple of months back on the Angry Video Game Nerd on YouTube.

no they didn't you are miss reading it saying you have until March 31st to turn the points in the account now into a activation code which they been saying for awhile now
Oh my bad, was misinformed by a post I saw elsewhere on the net.

Anyone get more than 5 reward codes over the course of the promotion? Feel that's pretty good for only owning the console since February.

I totally forgot to buy Shovel Knight, whoops.

Guess I'm waiting for the next sale.
I grabbed it the other day and was really glad that I did. I had held off for some reason or another and have really enjoyed playing a single stage every night for the past few nights.

Just want to parcel out the old school console greatness that they replicated with the game.
