Will Joel finally leave his fiancee in GGT 132? No, he is a bad person.
Yeah I'm just tired of getting converse. Cheap and look good, but only for 2 months or so.

Clarks boots it is.
I hate Converse. I live in a city so I do a lot of walking (owning a car is silly because of the closeness of things/public transportation) and Converse always end up worn out after like 2 months max. It's ridiculous.
Hope is one of the five best video game characters ever. I really like him, which is why I have tons of Hope stuff.
I don't even know what to say to that.

The DLC is good for the most part. The only one that annoyed me was Dead Money, and that was only because of the style of gameplay. If it didn't have that fucking collar mechanic I'd probably have loved it.

+1. I fucking hated the collar mechanic, too! Shit led me to ragequitting like 6 times.

The Kmart thread in the deals forum is hilarious. It's like a scary cult of people who now worship this mediocre chain of stores. Don't get me wrong, I've partaken in their deals many times. But the people in that thread are fanatical. If you question a single thing about their deals or Josh (the guy who runs it) they swoop down like a pack of rabid wolves to tear you apart. Not surprising Jer hangs out in there now.

Yeah, you're not kidding. I like when they go out into other deals threads to brag about how they get a better deal at Kmart 2 weeks ago and how Josh is the best thing that happened to CAG and if you say aaaaanything about anything they get fuckin' crazy.

If you check out the last few pages they're ripping into a guy because he brings up a valid point that the "spend $40 to get a $15 coupon" actually isn't that good since many games are $19.99 and buying two of those doesn't trigger the coupon because it's 2 cents short, same with trying to use it on a $39.99 game. Rather than them acknowledging that and bringing it up with Josh to help fix the problem, they just proceed to bash him for being so stupid as to buy two $20 games and expect it to work like anywhere else that would have that kind of deal

The deals are nice, but they *still* can't get new games out on a Tuesday for the most part and have the most disorganized, out of date game section of any retail store.

Oh God. My k-mart stopped selling games years ago but I forgot how horrible they were, just shelves up games lines up so you only see the spines.

Amen to this shit. Both Kmarts here are like that.

I remember when I started working there in 2008 and they had the most fucking bullshit release dates EVER. I remember we didn't even put SC4 out until 2 weeks after it came out because the Electronics department is a fucking shambling mess of release dates in almost every store.

Only good thing was that if it was something I wanted I could totally break street date.

Dude... that's sort of what makes oblivion cool... that and the randomness. I was a pretty powerful fighter type mage when I played, but did a lot of "grinding" to get my spells to go up... like one day I sat there practicing summon zombie in the bedroom of one of my houses and then practiced killing it with whatever lighting spell I had to level up 2 at once. Nice trick. But you might wonder "why do it in your bedroom, you kinky fuck?"

Well, it just so happens I was prone to randomly deciding it was time to grind for 5 minutes. I once decided to grind in the middle of a church in one of the snowy towns, I think (bigger town, towards the end of the game, but not the huge city you start in). As I'm sitting there, I watch as one of the nuns comes running to help me out, like, "oh shit, there's a ice elemental in the church, let me beat that down with you". Well, I'd melted that fucker in about 20 seconds flat... but the town guards had gotten irritated and wanted to help. Finding the ice elemental in a puddle on the floor, they turned and MURDERED THE NUN IN COLD BLOOD. BOTH OF THEM HACKING AWAY. When she was dead and no more, they sheathed their weapons, and leisurely strolled back to their posts.

I felt horrible... so from that day forward, I practiced in safety and seclusion... in the bedroom of my house. :bouncy:

The K-Mart deals may be good, but it doesn't change the fact that the stores are a mess, with no organization to the video games section, and usually nobody even working there to help you, assuming they actually have the game you are looking for.
Just saw it, it's like he has his own little cult following.
Most Def. I used to post in that thread back when it started and all people did was hate on Kmart. Now anyone who comes in and says anything bad about Josh and his deals, get straight ROFLstomped.

Game related wise, I played a shitload of Vampire Bloodlines right now. Game is pretty tight.

That's because they don't like training most workers to actually know how to work electronics outside of running the register. Same with the jewelry counter. In my experience, there's an unusually high level of distrust between managers and regular checkout/service associates at KMart and that's because they think if they teach you how to work a certain place then you'll constantly ask to actually work in that area of the store instead of stocking shelves or handling the furniture. fuckin' hate Kmart.
Wasn't really required, I just didn't want to wait to level my shit up.
I didn't either, that's why I used cheats. Skipped the work and reaped the rewards.
fuck grinding in any game.
If I get to a point in a game where I have to grind then that game immediately gets sold. Don't have time for bullshit padding in a game like that.

Which clan are you rolling as? Tremere is my favorite, though I do enjoy a Malkavian run every now and then.

There is no bro-fist picture grand enough to illustrate the bro-fist I am about to bestow upon you.

I can understand grinding to beat optional bosses in a RPG. I can also understand grinding if you spent most of the game avoiding combat. If I have been fighting everything and playing the game like normal then at no point should I be stuck in the main quest because I need to grind out levels.

Which also reminds me of how much I hate RPGs that don't level party members you don't use. fuck that shit. The last thing I want to do is spend time grinding or being fucked by a boss because I'm being forced to use someone I left at the base because I hate him.

I'm rocking that Tremere. Loving the Purge spell, having people vomit blood all around me is pretty awesome.

I eventually wanna do a Malkavian and Nosferatu run as well just to see how different they are compared to the others.

Malkavian is hilarious. Though I don't recommend to people on their first time through the game due to the craziness of the dialogue. I've actually never done a Nosferatu run because I hate stealth.

They have to use the sewers in the hub or else the humans go all crazy, right? I can see how that can get annoying.

Yep that is totally one of my biggest RPG pet peeves, but just being forced to use someone I don't like in general annoys me... why hello FF13...

--

Just finished Bulletstorm (which means I completed 3 games in one day), I have to say I enjoyed it a fair amount, although the end of the game kind of started to degrade due to the fact that there really isn't anything else to buy and you just stick with the guns you like which you've probably done most of the skill shots with.

Not really surprised they set it up for a sequel, although who knows if it will ever get one... and even if it does I still don't think I'd pay $60 for it (I totally got my $16 out of this one though).

I kind of liked that about FFXIII. It helps you to get to know the characters more, rather than have this guy just join your crew in the middle of the story for no apparent reason. Even If I really didn't care for some of the characters, I give them points for trying. It reminded me of IV and VI, which did a similar thing and are my two favorite games of the series.

it wasnt a problem in XIII because it was balanced. you didnt have someone "back at base" who was under levled.

i also liked the split ups in VI

See I like FF IV and FF VI A LOT, but not FFXIII at all...

Oh I like the split ups in VI a lot. And in regards to FFXIII I was more pointing out that I was constantly forced to use party members I didn't like... but that may have also been due to the fact that I didn't really like any of them. Now I didn't make it that far into the game but basically each character annoyed me for certain reasons:

Lighting - Almost never seems to talk so she may as well be a silent protagonist
Snow - Doesn't shut up about wanting to save the same two things
Hope - Doesn't shut up about being pissed at Snow
Sazh - Also didn't talk much, when he does it is only to try and say something witty
Vanille - Seems to be tripping on drugs
Fang - Didn't make it that far

I mean I think one thing that worked in the older games was that the characters and plots were a bit more comical, and the art style which wasn't that realistic worked well with that.

Now, they tend to have more realistic looking characters, but still try to do comical scenes which don't in my opinion work as well with realistic characters.

yeah i dont know what to tell you. FF characters are pretty simple across the board.

i'd say the only cast that may be up your alley would be FF12, but i know you didn't like that one either.
i think you are annoyed very easily, and could make a similar list for every FF.
Lol, I'm being told this by a person who seems to come on here and bitch about games 90% of the time (basically when the game isn't FFXIII or SC2). I can assure you I'm not that easily annoyed, but the characters in FFXIII were grating to me, more-so than any other FF game.
yeah i dont know what to tell you. FF characters are pretty simple across the board.

I basically LOVE all the characters in FFIV and FFVI, (although Palom and Porom might be cutting it).

Was not a fan of the splits in FFVI. Especially since it took characters I really wanted to use away from me for a good amount of time.
Also, I glitched the raft split once and got stuck back at the beginning with no way to continue... like 12 hours in. I was fucking pissed.
I've still played through the game like 4 times though and it's the only FF game I think I made every character learn EVERY ability. Like the game and all, but it's vastly over-praised in my opinion.

Snow - Doesn't shut up about wanting to save the same two things
Hope - Learns to talk less.
Sazh - Has some good development.
Vanille - Trips on even more drugs
Fang - Turned out to be my favorite character for whatever reason.

Agreed. IV is better.

Totally agree with you icebeast. Something about the presentation in FFXIII just makes the characters super annoying to me, unlike in other RPGs with cheesy writing.

i've had overly positive opinions this year of Lost Odyssey, Portal 2, Tactics Ogre, and Assassin's Creed 2.

and i hate Starcraft 2 0_o

no need to get hostile, i just don't like seeing inconsistent opinions.

Haha, I'm not being hostile at all, just pointing out that a large majority of your posts are usually negative or very critical and then you accuse me of of being easily annoyed by games.

And I could have sworn you were talking about SC2 at some point and not saying something negative (but maybe it just stood out since you are often saying something negative or critical).

Also, I don't really see how I have an inconsistent opinion.

because i like writing interesting posts? i can't be pleased with a game and give it a fair shake at the same time? what would be interesting about that kind of forum?

i think i've literally said things like, "just beat portal 2, it dragged a bit in the middle but it was great overall. my goty so far" and i guess that's taken as cynical?

only game i have not given an ounce of criticism is Shadow of the Colossus because that game is legendary.

I have no problem with that at all, it's just comical (and a bit hypocritical) that you get on my case when I talk about what didn't please me personally about FFXIII like nobody can touch that holy game.
