The HTC Arrive comes out this Sunday, but I'm not sure if I want to get it then or if I'm going to wait for it to go on sale...

Cool thread and I will find it very useful when I get the Arrive.
Dammit, I keep hitting the home button when I'm trying to shoot stuff in Rocket Riot. Stupid fat fingers.
I do with more apps would use a 'confirmation' screen before exiting to home, instead of exiting when you accidentally press the button.
I was playing Flowers on my Focus today and now I'm pretty addicted to getting gamerscore on my phone. Next up is Fruit Ninja.
I hated the last achievements to Flowerz. I finished the all but the play 100 games within about the first 30, which meant I spent the next 70 or so just mindlessly tapping the screen. I have never hated a game more than I hated Flowerz. It might have been a bit better if I could monitor my stats, but it just seemed like that last achievement would never come up....

Yeah, I can't stand Flowerz at all. I got a few Achievements and then deleted it from my phone.

(BTW Zohar, you didn't need to delete your post. :) )

So eastx... You mentioned to another CAG that you could buy the games through your pc? He posted he didnt get it to work.. Is this confirmed do you know? I want to get in on this DOTW but since I am on verizon.. :( gotta wait for who knows how long.. want this deal.

I was mistaken, sorry. :( Once you have a WP7 device tied to your Zune account, then you can buy stuff from the PC.

I am a saaaaaadddd pandaaaa. Bummer. Oh well.. I guess it is only two bucks less. But.. it hurts cuz i am so cheap.

I got the XBLA version of Rocket Riot for free. Played it once, loved it, then never played it again. Bought it for WP7 and love it being portable. I may actually finish it :)

Battle for Hoth isn't that bad. I like TD games and I think Hoth's life system doesn't work well. Other than that it's a fun challenge.

And it's live.

WP7 Deal of the Week

I so want a WP7.... I don't even have a smartphone. But I can't justify it because I never talk to anyone and only use a cell for emergencies. There is no prepaid WP7. :(

I've found my Focus is handy for checking email, websites, and forums on the go. I didn't have to do that before, but it's really convenient.

It sucks that there's no prepaid WP7 phone or a Zune that runs WP7. But you can try eBay or Craigslist as several CAGs have successfully bought phones that way. Then you'll have no monthly bill and the option of sticking in a SIM card if you ever do need phone service.

I'll pass on Hexic. Ever since the 360 version and a damn bomb stopped me from making a diamond, I quit.

I bought 2 games last week, that'll keep me busy.

Is there no simulator or video capture device for your reviews eastx.

TMobile bett bring me my nodo update...I've been patient for months now.

But if I do that, how do I get data? I mean, how do I download games onto the phone or connect to Live if I buy one on eBay with no SIM card and no monthly fee? Please help, I'm cell phone challenged.

ElektroDragon, WP7 phones (and many smartphones) have built-in Wi-Fi. With no SIM card, you just put the phone in Airplane Mode and turn on W-Fi. Connect to a wireless network and bang, you're online. :)

BTW Hexic is really on sale now. ~ ~

Holy cow..... I gotta look into that!!! Thanks!!!

Yeah any download (mostly games) that are over say ~5MB require WiFi to download anyway.

Buying the phone unsubsidized is the way to go if you just want to use it as an iPod touch so to speak. I see my local CL selling this for around $250-350.

My fiancée's HD7 was stolen last Friday so she's back on her crappy iPhone 3G. I really like the WP7 UI but this update BS is pissing me off. TMo looks like it's pushed back another month before a rollout.

Yeah HD7's are ~$250-350 but those Samsung Focus are sub $200. I don't think I can live without 3G for a year or so though.

I'm still hoping CL will produce the phone. Insurance on the HD7 was like $150 deductible plus the 6 months @ $6/Mo MIGHT have been a bit cheaper but still not cheaper than us buying the phone on subsidy.

BTW the site is acting weird last night and today, only 3 articles posted I can view.

I picked up a Samsung Focus off Craigslist 2 weeks ago. I'm not using it as a phone at all. The only thing I've used it for it to play XBL games. I use hotmail as my main email and did set it up on the email app. I'm not ready to give up my iPhone for WP7 yet.

I picked up Hexic this morning. Not very good at puzzle games, but $2 is almost free, right? ;)
Those are ridiculous load times. I like the concept though.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure they just hadn't been optimized when that video was taken. They should be better in the final version, plus NoDo (which we should all have within a month or less) speeds up game and app loading too.

My gf just got a HTC Surround, I was wondering:

is it was possible to sign in on my LIVE account on her phone to play her games? we don't know how to switch profiles...

(achievement whore here, lol)

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to. If she has a live account as well, you'll have to sign in and out when a different person wants to use it.

Sadly, no. You can only have one Live profile tied to a phone at a time.
You should get a WP7 phone too though!

I didn't realize you ran the wpcentral site eastx. I love it!!! It's pretty much my source for wp7 news.

I only got Rocket Riot so far. It was on my to get list since I tried the demo. Good stuff.

Glad you like the site! WPCentral definitely is the best overall source of WP7 news. I'm just a writer, but I'm working hard to make sure we have the best and most interesting gaming news. It's a ton of fun trying to squeeze info out of developers.

Eastx- does that mean you have some 'insider' infor on why Verizon is sucking so badly (meaning-screwing with the release of win7 phones).. If you cannot tell, i hold resentments towards Verizon for not releasing the Trophy yet, and the only other carrier that works in my area well is Sprint. :( Like I said before I even tried Tmobile for the HD7...

I finally decided to pick up Hexic for $2. I'm not really a fan of the game, but I can't say no to a $2 game. :)

Anything over $2, I have to actually want it. ;)

For me it seems to be anything under $5 and I'll just about buy anything. There are a few games I tried the demo for, didn't especially like, but bought anyways because it was only $3. I don't do that for $5 games.

I really don't care for puzzle games and wouldn't have bought Hexic for even $3. $2 did push me over the edge. :)
