I actually just bought it mere hours before the price drop too. It's only $2 more, but still more upset at myself for being so impulsive when part of me was thinking they might drop it because of all the complaints in the Reviews section. Oh well, such is the pitfalls of buying digital media. It's a very well made game, so not like I got ripped off buying a poor product.

Why can't everyone on the internet be as logical as you? Sorry to hear about you losing out on $2, but I applaud you're ability to take responsibility for your "impulsive" actions instead of cussing out Microsoft and the developer and vowing never to buy another WP game again.

Also, thanks guys for pointing this out. I'll buy it tonight and check it out. I enjoyed the first one.

2 new Nokia exclusives.

Monopoly Millionaire for 4.99
DaVinci Pinball for 2.99

At this pace there will be more nokia exclusive games hen non exclusives by the end of the year. :p

Ooh I was just thinking the other day how I wanted a good pinball game on my phone. Wonder if this one is worth it. Also, never played Monopoly Millionaire. How is it different from regular Monopoly?

i downloaded the demos of both. havent tried Monopoly yet but the achievements are very similar to those for the original Monopoly on windows phone. Davinci Piball is pretty good. The controls work surprisingly well. ended up buying it. I suck at pinball games but I do enjoy them. Hope to see more tables or pinball fx come out though I think pinball fx was scrapped.

Snatched up Cut the Rope Experiments since it just dropped to $1....Glad I didn't drunk buy that game Saturday night and exhibited patience since I knew it'd drop. Never imagined it'd be THIS soon. Score!

Can't decide whether to buy DaVinci pinball or not. I haven't spent more than $1 on a WP game in a long time. From the demo the controls seemed pretty good, and the physics seemed realistic enough, but the table was a bit sparse. There just didn't seem to be a whole lot to do. If it had more than one table it would be worth the price for sure. Also looking at the achievement list on x360a seems like several are going to be a grind (and a couple probably out of my reach entirely). Guess I have become super cheap in my gaming habits lately, though I do have a serious pinball urge. Why are there not more out there for WP?!?

Several people on the TA message board said they contacted Microsoft and got a $2 refund for Cut The Rope Exp.

I have a pending 160 MS Points on my account today, so wondering if Microsoft got so many complaints about it that they are refunding people who bought it early, even if they did not contact them. Sounds crazy and I'll reserve judgment until it clears. If you bought early, check your Xbox Account and see if your points in the upper right corner on the My Account page is 160 MS higher than your currently available points.

I wasn't going to complain to MS or Zeptolabs, since I knew the risks of digital media already, but I definitely would not mind getting my $2 back as a goodwill gesture.

mine is still showing its normal balance.
Nokia rolls Monopoly Millionaire and DaVinci Pinball to WP

Skulls of the Shogun updated. Check out the improved visuals!
It's frustrating to me that they didn't fix what in my opinion is the biggest glaring problem with Skulls of the Shogun. Some of the achievements can't be unlocked on multiple platforms. Because I own the game on both the phone and Xbox, and because I was playing on my Xbox when getting the final gold skull, that achievement is now unobtainable for me on the phone unless I delete my save and start from scratch (ugh). How hard is it to put a simple skull count check behind the scenes when going to the map screen? They really didn't think that one through.

I did ask Borut about that when I met him and I guess I cut it out of the video... For some reason, they didn't think they were allowed to just check the status of the number of skulls and just pop the Achievement. I don't believe Microsoft gave them much support or guidance Achievement-wise, and they do feel a little bad that the Achievements aren't more distinct for each platform.

My pending points were on that obscure blue and white My Account billing screen few people probably knew existed. Those points could be unrelated, so premature for me to assume anything. You can try calling MS and politely asking for a $2 refund. The success rate on those calling in seems to be decent from reading the TA boards.

Do you have a link to the TA forum thread?
Ice Age Village now on WP8 for free!

Mush is the Red Stripe DOTW
Well I suffered through Bug Village for all the achievements so I guess I can do it again. Though it sounds like this one is better. I'm hoping it's closer to My Country than bug village.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Mush is excellent. There is no reason not to own this game. Plus it's got the added bonus of making you look like a fool while playing in public. How can you go wrong? ;)

Throw up a note in the thread title saying IAV is for WP8 only, please.

I jumped on my phone and found it PLEASANTLY BARREN OF FREE GAME

edit: I have a crappy old WP7 HTC model

You're not the only one. A lot of us here still have a WP7 and just gotta wait a bit to upgrade. Throw in the fact that Sprint doesn't even offer a WP8 in their lineup=:headache:

Great articles as always Paul. Such a good read at work when I uh, don't feel like working :D

Soon, hopefully...

I think the ATIV S looks very wonderful.

Meh. I'm not too worried about $2. It was a good game. Well worth the $3. Now if it was a game like Roll In the Hole then id be more pissed.

It looks like I randomly had 140 points credited to my XBLA account in the past couple days. I'm assuming that's my Cut The Rope Experiments refund, even if it is 20 points short.
When the heck are you eligible for an upgrade, good brotha?
Sorry for the belated response; haven't been on CAG in a couple of days. I don't remember exactly when I can upgrade, but AT&T allows you to upgrade early as long as you sign a new contract. Assuming I do that (which I probably will), I still probably won't be able to upgrade until the end of the year, if not later.
At least you wp7 users have Ms Splosionman and that Square Enix RPG.
I already have Ms. Splosionman on XBLA and I don't want the RPG; I'd much rather have some of the WP8 perks and exclusives.

Looks pretty nice. Hopefully it *ahem* ARRIVES within the next few months

Same here. Would rather have some of the WP8 only games rolling out like Ice Village :(

Hey Paul,

Is there any way you could try to reach out to whoever is in charge of the WP version of Hydro Thunder Go? I am a little upset that I bought a broken game with no update in sight. It's completely broken on WP8.

Thanks!
Get ahead in Ice Age Village with our Achievement Guide - Contains no less than 8 codes for free money, animals, and items!

How ya liking the game, Feeni?
I haven't played it a whole lot yet. Had a pretty busy weekend. I got to around level 11 or so then seemed to hit a wall in terms of progress. The quests started taking more time and it seems like I can't do a whole lot now without buying acorns. I hadn't seen your achievement guide so I will definitely try some of the codes out. Overall though I still far prefer My Country. They are pretty similar in terms of mechanics but the Sim City presentation is much more appealing to me. I wouldn't play Ice Age Village if it didn't have achievements.

I don't even think I'll bother downloading the free one on WP7. I'm not much of an Angry Birds fan. I wonder what the Red Stripe deal will be this week...

Farm Frenzy 2 is showing up at .99 cents for me. I assume it wasn't 99c before, otherwise i'd own it. No clue what the old price is.

It's a pretty addictive game. Too bad I already own it. Good catch.
How about some great news?

Windows Phone 7 and 8 get new ports of Angry Birds and they're free for a limited time! - WP7 version is indie, WP8 version is Xbox Live.
I'm 99.9% sure the answer is "no", but just in case someone out there is a wizard, is there any way to make a WP8 marketplace purchase without a WP8 phone connected to your Live ID?

I'm still rocking my original WP7 Samsung Focus, but would love to grab WP8 freebies now to use later when I upgrade.

You can't, as far as I know.

I just purchased Doodle God under the 'Best of 99-cent games' and was charged $3. Did the price go back up? Anyone know a number I can call to get the difference refunded?

Also, if you plan on buying it, make sure you were not over-charged as well.

AFAIK $2.99 is the regular price for Doodle God. I wasn't aware of any 99 cent sale for it. I could be wrong though, as I have no interest in that game and haven't really been keeping an eye on it. Where is this best of 99 cent section you speak of?

EDIT: Ahh I see it under the Spotlight section of the games hub. I always forget to look at that. I also see Doodle God was part of that big 7 game discount way back when they dropped to .99, but when I check it in the store it is listed as $2.99. You can go to windowsphone.com/help for billing support, though I don't know a phone number offhand.

I've played a few of the knockoffs, but never the original.

Angry Birds, here I come. Free is always too good to pass up.

DaVinci Pinball (Nokia only) dropped to $0.99 today. Decent pinball for a phone, but be warned it can get pretty glitchy at times and send your ball flying off randomly, or completely freeze up forcing you to use the in-game table reset.

EDIT: Da Vinci Pinball either has an unobtainable achievement or one that is impossibly hard in that nobody has it yet, in case that affects anyone's buying decision.

I bought it just because there is a lack of pinball games on WP, but I must say this one certainly isn't very polished. I would say the $0.99 price point is right. Glad I didn't pay more when it came out.
