Kinectimals? Sweet!

And I think Doodle God may have won, but considering it was part of the big price drops, I assume (and hope) we'll get Zombies next week.
I hope we get some zombies! Doodle god is meh so far. Not bad, but I am happy with 99 cents. so if doodle won does that mean we will see it discounted to .64 cents, lol.

I have wanted kinectimals so immediate purchase yesterday.

I was thinking about ms. Splosion man on the phone and then wondered if it is a port or new levels, or both?

I would love some double fine love on wp7. Costume quest type titles would be awesome! I can dream!

Just a heads up that we'll have a great Pinball FX2 interview coming up in the next few weeks. I want to do one for Ms. Splosion Man too, especially since I've met Twisted Pixel's PR dude in person. Will have to get that arranged.

Also, here's my long overdue Farm Frenzy 2 review.

Monster Island demo felt a lot better than I expected, a lot more fun than Angry Birds.

Doodle God is definitely nothing special. Fun idea, but the execution didn't work for me at all. But I just remembered I still have 1 achievement to get on it real quick.

Kinectimals was an instant purchase for me as well. Having fun with it so far. There are a bunch of codes for extra cats on the internet if you don't have the Kinect version, which is cool.

Ms. Splosion Man should be awesome, I can't wait for that one. Costume Quest would work great as a mobile game, I agree! I think the genereal consensus is that WP needs some good Live-enabled RPGs.

Codes for more cats? Since I have the kinect version do the codes offer anything additional?

Yes, live RPG titles are missing. :( I would love to see more developers that have been making great xbox live arcade titles jump on the WP7. I look through my list of arcade games and see titles that would transfer well.

I think the one aspect I am missing is the live connectivity with the titles released so far. Some vs. or co-op wp7 titles would do well for the brand and I hope is in the pipline soon. Something more than wordament. I like seeing people from my friend's list on leaderboards, but I would dig some co-op/vs. on live.

I don't know if it offers anything additional, I actually don't know much about how it works at all. I think a guy just took all the transfer codes on his 360 version of Kinectimals, wrote them all down, and posted them. I've only used the Saber Tooth Tiger code so far, but it worked no problem. Here's the link if you wanna see more:

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=339175

Also, if you happen to have the blue striped white bengal tiger (which I guess was a bonus for Best Buy pre-order) the guy who compiled the list is looking for that one.

I talk about all that in the review. IMO there is no compelling reason to transfer or add more cats to the WP version.

Yeah, they're just new skins. But some are kind of cool looking.
Yeah, they're just new skins. But some are kind of cool looking.
I added a few of them. I like the red striped cat only because it is different. Some of them look neat, does not change gameplay and not too compelling like Eastx mentions. My daughter loves looking at all of them though.

Also Monster Island was missing last night. Is it due to the achievement issue? I hope so.

You are welcome. This is a good move for MS.

Also, MORE .99 cent games!!! Battlewagon, DeerHunter, and Glyder.

Glyder is ok. Not sure about the other two. Any opinions?

hmm thanks for the headsup. are these new price drops? or a sale or something?

Probably more price drops. But now that it's down to $0.99, I don't think I'll need to wait until they're $0.66 or $0.50 before buying.

I think if games released at $0.99, I'd always buy them at release.

Thanks for the heads up!!! I'll grab Battlewagon (altho it apparently sucks) and Glyder.

I really enjoyed Deer Hunter. It is simple, but I had a lot of fun with it. One of the achievements appears to be 100% broken, so if you're a completionist you may want to stay away. I actually wrote my first and only achievement guide for it at x360a (it's in the forums over there).

Battlewagon was $2.99, Deer Hunter was $4.99, and Glyder was $2.99.

It's also in the OP, 2nd or 3rd post.

I too would purchase about any game at .99 if priced that release. no need to save .33 cents for a dotw on a .99 title. Loving this has started and hope we see price drops every month like on Xbox live.

I think I'll skip deer hunter if broken. even though i do not achieve 100% in most games, i like the opportunity to achieve it. if gameplay is fun i will buy, but i have a feeling it is below avg.

Battlewagon i will probably get.

Gameplay is average. Check out the demo and you'll easily be able to figure out if it's for you or not. There are a few upgrades that you can unlock, but that's about it in the way of progression in the game.

How dumb. It seems like a stupid reason to pull a game. The DLC is in no way required to play or complete it. It's really sad how important achievements are to some people. I like unlocking them, but I think they are one of the worst things to happen to gaming.

Deer Hunter is meh, Glyder is awful, and Battlewagon is decent. It's not worth $2.99, but I'll gladly pay $0.99 for it. I hope this trend of price drops continues.

What am I doing wrong on Glyder? I can't get anywhere near the challenge times in the first level. I mean, the Ice Caves challenge wants me to do it in 1:05 and my best is 1:23.

If i recall, MS policy was that any retail or purchased game should have achievements that are attainable by the gamer without the need of ingame purchases or game add-on. there has been violations in the pass, even by MS flagship titles, but none of those were pulled.

if you thought that ruling was strange, the reverse might raise more eyebrows - no game add-on maybe given away free if it contained achievements. i recall that's what happened with the Force Unleashed 2's Endor DLC

Darn it guys, somebody PM me next time there's news and I haven't posted about it. ~ ~

No, trying to charge people for an Achievement is dumb. Considering that you dislike Achievements for some reason, I'd think you'd see a problem with charging for them too.

The only exception is paid XBL subscription or Microsoft published.

I don't necessarily dislike achievements because they can be a good thing, but ever since their rise in popularity, people have placed a ridiculous amount of importance on them as if they somehow matter. I've actually seen quite a few people make purchasing decisions based on whether or not a game has achievements and if so, how difficult it is to unlock them. There are so many people who won't buy DLC simply because it doesn't have achievements, which is something I can't wrap my head around.

Also, I don't see why disliking achievements would make someone against charging for them. If anything, I think it would make someone supportive of it because one who dislikes achievements is likely to dislike those who are obsessed with them, and seeing them waste their money would be a good thing. Of course, bear in mind that it is nearly 6 AM here and I haven't slept yet, so maybe I misread that portion of your comment.

In any case, I have no problem with people being charged money for achievements. I don't care if I'm not able to earn all of them and if someone wants to throw their money away like that, then so be it. However, I don't even see this as being charged for achievements; I merely see it as being charged for additional content (which I at times take issue with but that's a different discussion). As far as I'm concerned, the achievements and their monetary requirements don't factor into the equation.

You have to wait to get better wings. Look into the guides for iOS they are the same locations and same game. It's called Glyder 2 on other platforms. I forget where exactly but there's a set of wings you can get really early on and will use for most of the game.

TBH, I really enjoyed the game. There's no real conflict, or bad guy, or impending doom. You just fly around collecting things.

Well, I am sure the title will be released again after this is fixed. Achievements, just like old school game unlocks, do bring something extra to the table. I do see this as being charged for one achievement to be unlocked as it is unattainable unless you spend the extra few dollars, and it isn't for extra content really. It is poor practice. Achievements, trophies, etc bring more replay value for myself, and I enjoy getting them just as I enjoyed unlocking skins, etc in old titles. To each his own really.

Yeah, better wings. I still suck at this game though. :D

Nice to see more .99 games. Got Deer Hunter and Battlewagon. Can't stand Glyder. As for Monster Island....kinda sucks it was pulled.....but all it was was Fragger reskinned.Hoping Tetris and Sonic get a drop again soon. Bern thinking of getting them. Liked the demos.

While Monster Island and Fragger are extremely similar, Monster Island's got way more levels and they're much better designed. The difficulty is a bit lower overall too, which I approve of. If you already have Fragger I definitely understand passing on Monster Island, but if you had neither, Monster Island is really a better game overall and will last longer to boot.

Nothing is live for me yet. Any word on DotW? Is Zombies on teh Phone $1.99? I'm assume the Fruit Ninja drop is permenant and not part of the DotW.

Zombies seems to be the DOTW, so it looks like another purchase this week ;) Also, is Battlewagon even any good? I bought it and barely played it, as I am addicted to Deerhunter for now.

Zombies is $1.99, sweet! Thanks for pointing it out.

Battlewagon is kind of weird, from what I've played of it. But it's $.99, so can't complain. I had a blast with Deer Hunter as well.

Bought Zombies on teh PHone. It's as awesome as I expected it to be so far.

Wordament is also fun as hell! Last few weeks has been great for WP owners!

I won't pay more than a dollar for the Zombies game 'cause then the song would be a lie. Besides, I can't imagine playing it more than once or twice.

For the most part, I agree that things have been great for WP users. It's only a start, though...I really hope the userbase/popularity keeps increasing because there are so many great phone games out there that we don't get to play. I don't want to get a damn iPhone just so I can play Game Dev Story and AbraWordabra and other awesome-looking iOS games. My wife will most likely get an iPhone when it's time for her to upgrade, but I want them on MY phone.

I'll admit hemain reason I got a Windows phone was because of Xbox live support. I like my achievements....and I hope to see more stellar games on the windows phone. This last month has been great with Pirates, Civilazation, .99 games, and Wordament. Can't wait to see what's in store

Agreed with everything above. I'm glad MS is finally getting things together. I'll buy almost anything at .99 to get some extra achievements.

You've been silent so long, I thought you got rid of your Windows Phone or something. Welcome back. :)

Agreed with Benjamouth - Wordament is something I could probably play all day everyday.

That's the main reason why I got a Windows Phone as well. Not so much for the achievements (though they are a nice little bonus) but because of the way you can link certain games like Kinectimals and Full House Poker. And it's great that I can track my gaming activity. But best of all, I can get ilomilo on the go, which makes me stupid happy.

I really enjoy the phone itself too, though. The interface is really simple and it does most things just the way I prefer. The calendar needs work and the chat-like messaging system sucks, but everything else is great and there are free apps available for everything else that I felt was lacking. I do wish I could sort apps into folders, but it's a minor complaint. Overall, I love my phone. It certainly works a lot better for me than Androids and iPhones.

It's nice to see that Microsoft is still able to do something right. Now if they would only fix the Xbox dashboard and release an OS that can live up to XP...
