I don't buy this logic at all, and never have, honestly. See, there's got to be a point where your personal enjoyment must be set aside an the game must be looked at as a consumer product, where the content is evaluated clinically. I mean, for the first six months I had the 360, I played the living s*** out of Geometry Wars, but does that mean I'd pay $50--or even half that--for the game? Should Virtual Console games cost more than most of the $50 new Wii games?
Wii Sports is a new game. Plain and simple.
Virtual Console games are old games that are tweaked to run on an emulator. Geometry Wars was an unlockable extra in PGR2 - only minimal graphical updates were made. In both of those cases, there's a strong possibility that you paid $50 or so to have that game already.
As such, the fresh, new game would warrant a higher price tag than the brushed up port.
