I made a post about this in the wrestling board, but it definitely warrants its own thread here - DOZENS of WWE DVDs are $4 and 9 at Wal-Mart locations nation-wide. The ones I saw at the Woodbridge, VA Wal-Mart last night were:
Road Warriors: the Life and Death of Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team
Rebellion '02 (Edge vs. Lesnar),
Unforgiven '02 (Benoit vs. Angle)
Brock Lesnar: Here Comes the Pain ($4)
Chris Benoit: Hard Knocks ($4!)
Rob Van Dam: One of a Kind ($4)
John Cena: Word Life (probably $4, and I'll buy it for the matches with Lesnar, Benoit, and Eddie that are on it)
No Way Out '06 (with Angle vs. Taker, which I'll buy Saturday)
Summerslam '05 (Eddie vs. Rey, Hogan vs. HBK, which I'll buy Saturday)
Vengeance '04 (Edge vs. Orton, which I already own)
Unforgiven '04 (HHH vs. Orton, which I have no major desire to own)
World's Greatest Wrestling Managers (this was $9, and has FUJI VICE... so I'll buy it Saturday)
Bad Blood '04 (HHH vs. HBK in a cell, I'll probably buy it Saturday)
Armageddon '05 (Kash vs. Juvi is excellent)
Backlash '04 (already own it, but it's got Orton vs. Foley and Benoit vs. HHH vs. HBK II, so BUY IT!)
No Mercy '04
No Mercy '05 (Eddie Guerrero's final PPV)
Survivor Series '05
No Way out '04 (Eddie Guerrero wins the WWE title)

Other deals that have been confirmed through photos, but that I haven't seen are:
Taboo Tuesday '04 for $4
Superstar Billy Graham: 20 Years Too Soon for $4
Million Dollar Tough Enough for $4
Before They Were Superstars for $4
The Stone Cold Truth
Taboo Tuesday '05
Backlash '06

I'm probably forgetting some that I saw, as there was just way too much to keep track of mentally, but this is easily the best wrestling DVD deal yet, so stock up on stuff you might've missed before while it's still readily available at Wal-Mart.

Hey, this is nice. I might make a run to my Walmart and see if they have any. At $4 I wouldn't mind some classic WWE or even certain ones at $9.

I'll be damned my local WM had the display out next to the checkout lines. I picked up most of the superstar sets: RVD, Superstar BG, Brock Lesner, Chris Benoit, John Cena, Managers, Before they were superstars, Steve Austin, and The Road Warriors( the best tag team ever btw). I hope the LOD one shows some of their classic intrances to Black Sabbath's Iron Man and the scaffold matches while in the NWA.
And of course, my Wal-Mart isn't participating.

I hate my Wal-Mart. They still have sealed PS1 games for $29.99.
Any DVD in particular you are looking for?

The Wal-Marts near me both follow the same philosophy. Most unfortunate!

So... anyone want to get extras?

Thanks OP - I hope I can get in on some of the $4 WWE DVD goodness.

I don't mean to laugh at your pain but... .$30 for a PS1 game!?

Since the local walmart is filled with a bunch of bad vibe-merchants that aren't selling the WWE dvds, I am posting a wants list here:

Brock Lesnar: Here Comes the Pain
Before They Were Superstars
The Stone Cold Truth

And possibly these, I'll know sometime in the next 48 hours or so

World's Greatest Wrestling Managers
Superstar Billy Graham: 20 Years Too Soon

I'll gladly reimburse anyone willing to help me out.

It's true! This is the same kind of walmart that has WaveRace: Blue Storm for $50 still.

the wallmart in williston, nd isn't participating or just hasn't put out the bin yet. hopefully the one in minot has done this already.

Cool! I used to live at Minot AFB, North Dakota. Hopefully you'll find it in Minot.
I might have to get the Benoit DVD. It's $3.88 right? How is it, for those who have seen it?
It's $4, and is one of WWE's greatest releases - many wrestling styles are represented in it, and it's basically a set of non-stop 4 star matches. Casey, which DVDs are you interested in?

Secaucus NJ Walmart has them. Picked up 8 DVDs my self. The display is inside the electronics section.

One of the best DVDs on the market, both in terms of match quality and the documentary. I bought this at full price back in the day. Any wrestling fan of any style, type, fed, etc should own this DVD.

Interesting.

Would any kind and/or gentle CAG be willing to pick this up for me?

I went back tonight and got No Way Out '06, Before They Were Superstars 2, Superstar Billy Graham: 20 Years Too Soon, Unforgiven '04, and Bad Blood '04. They were sold out of Benoit, Managers, and Cena DVDs, but had Taboo Tuesday '05, Unforgiven '05, and Royal Rumble '06, which weren't there the other day.

If anybody can get Unforgiven '02 and Lesnar:Here Comes the Pain let me know and we'll try to work something out. Thanks.

Gah, where's my brain at, the Walmarts I went to that had no dvds were:

Livonia, MI & Canton, MI

So, if those are your local stores you can save yourself the time.

As usual my local Wallyworld locations suck ass. No displays and the employees as usual know nothing. Not that any of this surprises me about Wallyworld in the slightest.

But hey they still have the McMahon DVD for $20. ZING!

The Benoit disc is WELL worth getting, trust me.

I'll definitely check for the Graham disc next time I'm there. I've been looking for that one for quite a while.

Picked up:

Rebellion 2002
Armageddon 2004
Bad Blood 2004
Survivor Series 2005
No Mercy 2005
Vengeance 2004
Armageddon 2005
The World's Greatest Wrestling Managers
Judgement Day 2005
No Way Out 2006
Backlash 2005
Unforgiven 2004
20 Years to Soon: The Superstar Billy Graham Story

Everything else we already have.

*****Oh, and I was in Suncoast today, and they had the following sale prices.
Note: If you think your Suncoast closed, check again....mine closed and reopened (they had the going out of business sale and everything).

Wrestlemania 22 $7.99
All recent months DVDs $12.99
Hulk Hogan: The Ultimate Anthology $14.99
Roddy Piper DVD $14.99
History of the WWE Championship $14.99
Tribute to the Troops (Marked as 99 cents, but rings up FREE)

I actually just picked up the Hogan anthology at Half Price Books for $14.99. However it came with the Walmart exclusive bonus disc.

The "History Of The WWE Championship" is well worth even the $20ish I paid for it. While its light on the 70s era matches (which I'd like to see a bit more of) its still a nice run thru of the history of the title belt. Most worthy of a purchase if you ask me.

If you're having trouble finding them, check a few different places:

1. Electronics (obviously)
2. By the 5.50 bins/7.50 DVD racks (again, obviously)
3. Layaway
4. Customer Service (Depending on how your local Wal Mart is designed, this may be where they're stashed)
Whoa Ric Flair's DVD is on sale? I guess I need to start looking through the local Wal-Marts tomorrow.
I havent seen Flair's dvd at any of the WalMarts that had it, I would think it wouldnt be on sale as it was one of thier top selling dvds ever... if they would only come out with a 4 Horsemen dvd set, Id be happy

:whistle2:k That would be pretty typical of walmart to have moved what I want out of sight. I don't shop at Walmart, ever, so I can't say if the stores by me had these dvds at some point recently or not. I'm thinking this sale is only happening at say 1 out of every 4 Walmarts or so.

Is the sale on the Hogan dvd as of this Sunday? I saw this at the $19.xx price when I went to check for these dvds last week.

Also, has anyone tried looking for these at Sam's Club?

It was in the $4 row of the bin at my store, but it could've been moved there by accident. Even at $8, it's a good deal. Realistically, any of the career-spanning DVDs are worth that much.

I scanned it, it was 8, I too prefer the career spanning dvds (such as the Graham set, and the Legacy of the AWA which I got today for 12.99 from FYE) to the rehashes of PPV's as I dont watch current wrestling anymore since the buyouts of WCW and ECW years ago, the competition between the federations was what was so intriguing, monday might became a ritual switching back and forth between Nitro and Raw

WWE needs to release retrospectives of NWA/WCW, 4 Horsemen, & Starrcade (the original supercard preceding Wrestlemania)

There was a Horsemen set planned, but that's been nixed. There's going to be a set devoted to great wrestling families in '07, and WCW and ECW weren't bought out - they went out of business and WWE eventually bought the trademarks of each. They ended up paying more for ECW than WCW, which seems so very, very wrong on many levels. Many people stopped watching after the Monday night wars officially ended with the death of WCW - it's one of the biggest reasons why wrestling's fanbase has dwindles so much in recent years.

I can confirm this deal for the Wal-Mart in Union, NJ on Rt 22. There is a big stand, like the one on the first page of this topic, right past the McDonald's where you come in. Also, when I was buying the DVDs, I noticed that the only one's that wrang up for 3.88 were the ones from 2004 and the Billy Graham DVD. The one's that were 8.88 were the one's from 2005 to the present and all the Road Warriors, RVD, etc.

Maybe ECW, but if WWE just bought the trademark of WCW, how would they have ended up with their back catalogue, yes they bought the trademark, but that was part of the whole package including wrestler contracts (and the reason why Sting wasnt seen for so long I assume, just waiting for his contract to run out so he never had to actually work for WWE)

http://money.cnn.com/2001/03/23/deals/wwf/

See they WERE bought out, I did follow this story for months and was sad to see WCW go , even though I prefered it in the 80's when controlled by Crockett under the banner of NWA

My mistake - I shouldn't have just said trademarks (I was mainly thinking ECW when I said that, since that's really all they bought aside from the library), but saying that the WWF "bought out" WCW just doesn't work for me for some reason, since the other potential buyer backed out, leaving WWE as the only company willing to purchase it. The company either died or was bought by the WWF since they had no TV deal - there weren't other options available at that point. WWE only acquired about 20 contracts, and didn't buy any contracts out other than Booker T and DDP, and just waited for other deals (like Goldberg's) to run out before persuing them.

WWE got the trademarks and footage for ECW, but they got into a mess of trouble using the logo and theme without having any legal right to in '01 since Heyman told them he could use them, even though he had no ownership of the company at the time. '01 was such an exciting year for so many reasons. It's hard to believe that it's been roughly 6 years since ECW died, and nearly 6 since WCW died as well. Anyways, back to the Wal-Mart deals - has anyone but that one guy seen 'Taker's set available as part of this sale?

:D I was at that Wal-mart, too. That's where I picked up all my discs.

I went to my Local Walmart this weekend and was able to pick up Chris Benoit Hard Knocks, Brock Lesnar and Billy Graham DVDs.

I think I got the last copies of Benoit and Graham.

They had lots of the PPV Sets and each dvd I bought was $3.88
