Thanks, I'll put it here too

Cyclops (this really bothered me), Prof X, Jean Grey

I read that apparently there's extra stuff after the credits. Rumors have it could be a preview for a Wolverine or Magneto movie. Anybody know anything about this?

IGN has an article about someone saying a 30 second coda, but they won't reveal who it is. A solo Wolverine movie is in the works, so I wouldn't doubt if it's him.

hey wombat...
what about the rumors that magneto dies? didn't know they'd be killing jean again, but i hate to see cyclops and prof x being confirmed. i'm rethinking whether or not i see this one...

Crap, then those rumors I read on IMDB a year+ ago were true. Garbage! They posted

who would die and I was like, no, no way they'd kill off Cyclops OR the Professor. No way in hell. But they did. I dunno if I want to see thsi anymore.

it's like that time greedo shot first, accidentally killing 3 main characters. oh wait, even lucas didn't mess up this bad...

Yea they literally did kill the franchise. I've read several times on comic forums and mags that those three are like the Heart (Jean), Mind (Xavier), and Soul(Cyclops) of the X-Men. I really agree, IMO the best X Storylines revolve around Cyke and Jean.

Cyclops dying has been known forever, but pretty much confirmed to skeptics in the first trailer. I doubt his death will have any significance to the movie either. I guess thats what he gets for going with Singer and deciding to bang Superman's woman instead.

Prof X dying took me by surprise. But hey, if they're gonna kill off the franchise, might as well go off with a bang. When I saw the empty wheelchair in the trailer, I thought about the possibility and said "nooo they would never do that". But then in the later trailers, if shows Jean in front of him in the wheelchair then Patrick Stewart gave an interview confirming it.

Jean, yea I had a feeling she would die too. After finding out she kills Cyke and Xavier, there would be no way for her to redeem herself. So when she dies I'm guessing they kill her for the good of mankind or she goes super nova and disintergrates.

The whole movie will be good eye candy but everyone will walk away pissed. It feels like they just tossed in all the characters people wanted to see (except Gambit) and tossed in Sentinels. I would have like to seen a movie centered around Jean's revival, let the Cyclops character grow by having Havok come and comfort him. Then Havok having a spat with Cyclops, wanting to kill Jean. Then while the X-Men are trying to find a solution for Jean, Magneto/Havok/the Brotherhood are out to kill Jean, while the Sentinels are trying to kill everyone. The movie would end with Jean destroying Master Mold by exhausting her power and returning to normal. The X-Men and Brotherhood would at odds but for now they can live to fight another day. Sometime during a huge final battle Angel is kidnapped by who is revealed to be Apocalypse (maybe even Mr Sinister to make a simpler villain) to set up X4.
/End Fanboy Dream Movie Rant

Anyone know if theres been a Bryan Singer interview about X3? I really would like to know what his X3 would have been.

marvel doesnt take care of its franchises look what they did with blade they gave a top notch movie to a writer who wanted to direct I guess u would say they let him use blade 3 as his training wheels..and he killed the franchise by making a peice of crap.

Xmen sounds like there killing it to go with wolverine movies.

The hulk is self explainitory I belive they tryed to make the hulk look apealing and cartoony to kids as if a kid would want to sit through the hulks boring storyline.

spiderman seems to be the only franchise they care for hmm could it be because its the only one that they can aim towards kids .

They care to much about money and less about making good movies it seems.

What is this? fucken House of M?

from Superhero Hype....

"Superhero Hype! got a chance to see X-Men: The Last Stand on Tuesday evening and we can confirm that there is an extra clip after the ending credits. While the clip is fairly short, it is quite significant in what it reveals. So, do remember to stay in your seat until you've seen everything!

X-Men: The Last Stand hits theaters this Friday, May 26th."

It seems like the most consistent complaint among those who have seen it is that the movie is about 15-20 minutes too short. There's a few people over at the X-Verse forum who are saying that, and almost all the reviewers are saying that as well.

But you just KNOW the DVD release will have a bunch of new/extended scenes that end up making the movie better. Maybe it'll be like the Sin City or the Daredevil DVD.

SuperHeroHype!: Any deleted scenes?
Ratner: Are we going to video that fast? Is this going straight to DVD? Forget about the theatrical release, this is going to be on DVD next week! There aren't many deleted scenes, believe it or not. There's alternate versions of these scenes, but there aren't many deleted scenes.

at certain points of the film, yes, more House of M to me than the Dark Pheonix Saga

I'm glad they're killing off the franchise. Far too often, these things get dragged out and they're just abysmal toward the end. Just look at Batman- they had to completely re-do it all in order to make up for the misery that the last two movies were.

God, I hope they get Brian Singer to do another one, and Joss Whedon writes it. Hopefully they'll just retcon X3 out of existance and do the Dark Phoenix Saga.

batman was doomed when they strapped on those missles on the penguins for batman returns.

Xmen movies so far have been pretty decent. There is just SOOOO much they are trying to crame into each movie.

With Xmen 3 its another good movie with a lot of so so storylines that dont really go anywhere.

Im kinda pissed what they did to rogue in the movie and mystiq and cyclops
everything seemed to happen way to fast.

X2 was great, much better than the first one, which was actually pretty good. According to all the reviews I've read, the main problems with the movie are:

1. The script in general. Emotional moments don't work, characters don't work, etc.

2. Too short. Not enough character/plot development.

3. Too many mutants that are just there for the sake of a cameo.

4. Nothing but exposition. No nuance or layering.

5.
All the random deaths.

6.
No Phoenix.

7. The core of the characters isn't really there.

The Guy who made the first two isnt working on III. He decided to make the new superman movie. Maybe thats why the movie sucks?

i'm curious...just how many good movies have you seen with so-so storylines that don't really go anywhere? i'm wrapping up film school right now, and from what they've told us along with the what i've known for several years now, good films start with good plots and characters. maybe this is where i've been going wrong...is it possible to have a good movie with a shitty story?

The exact same thing is going to happen to X-Men in a few years. They're going to have to restart the franchise thanks to this one. I just hate that we have to wait for it, rather than having a great movie now. And the last two Batman's were just awesome if you were the right age at the time. Sure they're hilarious and campy now, but when I saw it in the theaters as a kid I ate it all up. AHHHNOLD as MR FREEZE?! How could you not love that?!

ROTFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well I dont know if this is true but I heard about the thing after the movie

allegedly its about someone who died in the movie possibly coming back to life, though I can not confirm this to be 100% accurate

For anyone that likes BBC America and thusly the best show on TV (Trailer Park Boys) you may care to know the girl that played Treena Lahey is playing Kitty Pride.

trailer park boys rule! never heard of them before moving to canada...they're big here.

Just got back from previewing the movie. Let me preface this by saying that I actually got PAID while watching it - it's horrible. If you care at all about X-Men, comic books, or characters you are going to be pissed -instead of saddened- by all the deaths. There is definitely a little something after the credits, but by then I didn't care. I expected the worst going into it, and even that wasn't enough to make me not flip-off the screen after one major death.

The one person who could have somewhat redeemed this movie by showing his face at the end wasn't there:

Apocalypse. I seriously thought he would show himself at the end, and had a small bet going.

At least Batman and Robin was incredibly funny.

Well at least wait until after to offical release so that everyone has a chance to see it.

Its only tomorrow...you guys can wait one day.

Just got back from seeing it. First I need to say that I am not the comic book guy but I watched X men the cartoon every Saturday AM that I could in my early teens.

I went to the theater with low expectations but I walked out liking the flick. Sure the script could of used some work and it also started out slow but it was a good popcorn flick for the Saturday AM fan like me. I wouldn't say I liked it more then X1 & X2 but it was a good X men movie for the silver screen. Thumbs up from this tough critic.
Major Spoilers!
I think the haters are just mad that Scott and Professor X die.

I also just got back from a midnight screening. I thought it was about what I expected. What people seem to forget is that the X-men are about is having a LOT of mutants around. That's their "gimmick" in the comic book world. This movie replicated that.

I think my favorite part that had me nearly squeeling like a schoolgirl was
when Iceman turned to his pure ice form. That was just damn cool and definetly worth the price of admission. Fastball special was also pretty fun.

Despite a lot of early criticisms, I think casting was almost perfect for this movie. They all worked, even Beast. The one that actually surprised me a little was Juggernaut. I had extremely low expectations of this character and was kind of annoyed that they put him in the movie but at times he managed to actually pull it off. It wasn't nearly as bad/cheesy as I thought he would end up. I'd say my favorite of the "newer" characters is a close tie between Beast and Kitty. They both played their roles perfectly. Beast is slightly different than his comic counterpart but most of the others are too so that didn't bother me that much. Despite the relatively small roll of Moira McTaggert, she was absolutely spot-on with her comic-counterpart. Brillaint casting there I must say.

I think my only problem with the movie was
how they killed off Cyclops. Jean and Professor X I can understand but I feel like Cyclops is more of a representation of the x-men than Xavier himself. I would have been much more pleased with the movie if they hadn't killed him but oh well no big deal.

It was odd that they killed him off so soon. The way they killed Cyclops off it seemed like he didn't die. I kept on waiting for him to pop up at the mid/end of the flick or something.

I think they did that because they wanted you to kind of question whether or not she actually killed him. I'm kind of glad though that once it was established Jean was capable of killing amd he died that he didn't miraculously pop back up. That kind of plot device is way too overdone and cliche. Once he was dead, it was better to keep it that way.

Just got back from the midnight screening myself and I must say I had no expectations going into it and I came out loving it. Keep in mind I never read the comics and never followed xmen besides the movies. I thought the whole movie was done very very well.

I want to say more, but I don't want to give anything away so I will just keep hush lol.

Well I saw it at midnight and I'm really disappointed. So much potential wasted. So many characters under used. Seriously, this is the Episode 1-3 of the X-men movies. It's great that some enjoyed it as being a good popcorn flick, but this was never supposed to be a popcorn flick.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who had flashbacks to the Transformers movie regarding having major characters killed off.

My biggest hang-up with the movie? And I'm sure it's no spoiler that Jean Grey's back, right? Now if your girlfriend came back from the dead (in non-zombie form), wouldn't you include a full-on kiss with your embrace? What's with that hug, eh?

Anyway, I sure hope this DVD gets the ".5" treatment to give the characters and subplot further development.

Seeing it tonight, but since I know all the spoilers anyway....
It makes me upset that Cyclops dies. I knew it was going to happen since I first saw pics of a funeral months ago (even if it wasn't his, I just figured he was going to die... there were like 0 screens featuring him). I'm not a fan of the comics/TV series, but it just seems like they probably killed him off to give Wolverine and Storm more screen time, which is BS. I just think it's BS... he's one of the most popular characters- I personally liked him in the first two films- and they kill him off at the beginning of the film? WTF?

Just got back from seeing it and I went in with pretty low expectations but I came out having enjoyed it. For being a fan of the comics and the animated series (as well as the first two movies) I was worried how this film would turn out and there are parts that I wasn't too thrilled about, but realizing the difficulty of adapting comics to a feature film for GENERAL audiences and expiring contracts of actors I think they made a solid film.

Went at 11:30 today and it was pretty packed. It was really good, lots of funny bits and the action sequences were really good. Of course the best line had to be

If I had to rate all 3 movies, it would go like this:

X-Men = 7/10
X2 = 9/10
X3 = 8/10

The best part of the movie had to be:

I'm the Juggernawt bitch!!!That line had the almost the entire audience cracking up.

And also I dont know if you would consider this a spoiler or not, but there is an extra scene after the credits so dont leave early if you dont wanna miss it.

I just watched it, but didn't stay until after the credits. If someone can let me know what happened it would be much appreciated.

I really liked the movie. It wasn't as good as X2, but it was definitely better than the original.

My biggest gripe was that Colossus had barely any part in the movie. Two fast ball specials, and carrying a big metal thing down a hallway- that was it. Taking away Mystique's powers also slightly annoyed me. Other than that, it was great. Beast kicked all kinds of ass.

Moria McTaggart (Xavier's old lover and the woman in the video while he was teaching a class) is checking on a cancer patient (the one that was in the previously mentioned video). Out of nowhere, the cancer patient whispers her name in Xavier's voice, and she says, "Charles?"

Yeah, I just saw it with my girlfriend and I have mixed results. I liked it for the fact that it had a lot going on, with many cameos.

For people who didn't want to wait for the LONGASS CREDITS:
The 30 second thing at the end is Moira McTaggart checking up on that 'braindead' guy that had been shown in the classroom near the begining. When she walks up to him however, the guy moans "moira" in Professer X's voice.
