X-Men Origins: Wolverine - May 1, 2009

Wow. That's infinitely better-looking than I thought it would be. Can never trust a trailer too much, but it looks like they have a good balance between character development (1st two Xmen films) and over-the-top superhero action (X3).

That, and Gambit's in it, so that's awesome.

Was that wolverine storming Omaha Beach? I didn't think he was that old. Stands to reason though that he wouldn't age like the rest of us.

Looks cool, I may have to actually see it...

In the comics i believe it was said he fought with captain america in WW2.

See, I feel the exact opposite, it looks cheesy as hell. But, I will see it, without a doubt (assuming it does not go into Elektra territory)

Warning, I am about to get super geeky -- you have been warned.
There are 8 other marvel characters I can identify in there, the obvious ones are Gambit, Sabretooth, & White Queen. Then you have Silver Fox, Kestrel, and I think Maverick, Blob, and a young Storm. Why? Aside from the weapon X members (Kestrel, Silver Fox, Sabretooth, and Maverick) why can't someone have a life without happening to cross paths with characters that do not share this continuity. It is the Batman Begins problem, where the kid he meets at the beginning of the movie is the same kid in the Scare crow attack.

Now what would be awesome, if in the WW2 seen, you saw Nick Fury (I guess Samuel L Jackson version) and his howling commandos. They are supposed to be there, they serve a purpose. Though, it would be tough to explain why he did not age, unless he was given the age suppressant the Weapon X folks have.

Anyway, this is just me venting some nerd rage. I will reserve final judgement until I see it.

I saw the trailer before The Day the Earth Stood Still. It looks awesome. Even better than the three previous X-Men movies IMO. Can't wait to see it. Gambit! :whee:
Needs more Deadpool.
Indeed this is true... BUT I'll go a step further and say that Deadpool needs his own movie...

Goddammit. The video is blocked at work, and the internet is still out at home thanks to the ice storm. Guess I'll just have to try and suppress my jealous rage of all you people that get to watch it now. Bastards.

Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool is up there as my favorite superhero casting. I actually prefer the use of Agent Zero to Maverick simply because Agent Zero fits better in a real-life scenario. And while I'm not a fan of Gambit, he will definitely draw in the mainstream crowd. Oh, and Liev Schreiber as Sabes looks delightful.

My 'spider-sense' tells me that this is going to be worse than The Last Stand, if that's possible. The trailer certainly didn't help.

It almost has an Elektra trailer-quality feel to it.

You do know that we've already dropped the balloons and given out the "One Millionth To Say That" prize, right? Back in '05, I think. Early '05, as a matter of fact.
I'm really going to watch it for Deadpool. I really hope ryan reynolds pulls it off and has more than just 5 min in the movie.
Come on Cable & Deadpool movie! Bob, Agent of HYDRA for the win.

that would kick ass, but Deadpool sucked ass once it joined Cable... best is still the Gail Simon run that is the best comic book writing I've read in years.

Apparently Emma is showing up as a captive of Weapon X, as will a young Cyclops and Banshee. Maybe they'll have Emma meet Cyclops and hint at their eventual future. That'd be randomly cool.

You couldn't be more wrong.

The first 33-ish issues of Deadpool, Joe Kelly's run, was Wade's zenith.

Ugh, a young Cyclops? Why do they have to fuck with stories like this? They have a perfectly good story in the comics, why fuck with a good thing?

read more deadpool. then again, don't read the goon and you'll get pure gold that deadpool almost was.
read more deadpool.
Read more Deadpool? Umm, I have every Deadpool branded miniseries, series, and most of his apperances in the Marvel Universe. I don't think I could read *more* Deadpool.

Why are you telling me to NOT read the Goon?

:whistle2:s

Unless it was a small grammar mistake, and you're telling me to read the Goon.

But why would I read the Goon if I wanted Deadpool stories?

Oh, I absolutely agree. :D

I have read the Goon.

But did it ever occur to you that maybe I *like* the Marvel Universe?

But that's right, the Marvel U isn't artsy enough for you...

Artsy Fartsy

Are we getting close to Ten millionth? Cause mark me down for one "not jolly".

something tells me zew, brac, or whoever else has gotten to you... :bomb: I'm really getting annoyed by having this "artsy fartsy" rep due to my tastes. I think (at least from my perspective) I'm more normal than people realize.

I respect you like the Marvel Universe, just didn't realize how hardcore you are. If you want overall just good writing than take my recommendation, but if you like marvel universe stuff along with good writing then go in the direction you stated. it'll make you more happy :bouncy:

Agreed, bardock. I can understand not having the mask, but his face should still look somewhat fucked up then.
New cast photo...first time I've seen Deadpool (far left)
It was easy to miss, but he does pop up very briefly in the trailer. Look at around the 40 second mark in the trailer in the op and you should be able see him there.

Is there a reason they have their eyes closed?
