Snagged Poker Night 2. Played it for a little bit... It's not spectacular, but it's good for a laid-back way of killing some time.

Worth it at full price, so yes.
Haha, alright. What about the DLC? Know anything on those? Which are worth it, others not so much? Total with the game and DLC comes out to $24.35. Seems pretty good considering the GOTY is $39.99.

Anyone know if the GOTY is a dlc code? Or on disc install-able content?

Edit/Note: If the above is confirmed to be true about the dlc being on a install-able disc, bestbuy has Dishonored Pre-Owned for $17.99. Which seems worth it if you're interested in the DLC.

Edit #2!: Quoted from an Amazon reviewer named UziSpray: "As for the add ons, they come on a separate disc, so no lousy download codes here. Kudos to developers/publishers that do this!" So this confirms what i was thinking! BestBuy it is!! Good thing about this is that if you have a friend with the game you could just pass the dlc disc on to them and they'll get it as well. Worked with borderlands and Skyrim GOTY Editions. ;) Good luck guys.

Dishonored is my game of the generation. I've played through it 3 times and I'm working on my no kill play through. I've bought every piece of DLC but I haven't beaten the campaigns yet. Void walkers arsenal is well worth it IMO just for the extra bone charm slots. Makes beating the game way easier on the higher difficulties.

Awesome, thanks.

I'd just wait for the GOTY to go on sale next year just like I am waiting on a decrease for Halo 4 GOTY and then for GTA V GOTY....my backlog is too high to be buying too many more games this year.

why bother posting about anything current, then? talking about a gta v goty.... why not wait for gta VI goty in ten years when it will be $4... bargain <derp>

started dishonored, loved it to where i got sidetracked at the ball/party mission. then i heard about story based dlc, thought i'd wait a bit. bought the knife of dunwall at half off, and got brigmore bitches for the same half off, this morning.

i guess if you can wait a year or better for the goty to drop, just wait... if not, you should get this game and the dlc (having not played it yet, i suggest it only because of the high quality of the rest of the game so far)

my 2cents

Well i mean it is pretty cheap already. $17.99 Preowned at bestbuy.

I'm really curious as to what will go on sale for the Black Friday sale. I remember the 12 days of christmas sales but not the digital black friday sales last year. Did we get anything good last year besides the crazy $10-game-a-thon on the MS store.

Looks like last year there was deal-of-the-day from Turkey Day through Cyber Monday (not to mention a massive sale the Tuesday before Turkey Day, too):

EDIT: Scratch that, it looks like it was Turkey Day (on the 22nd last year) and then... that Sunday they had another sale? Hrmph.

I assume Poker Night 2 is a permanent price drop, not a temporary sale.  If that's the case, I'll wait and pick it up later, possibly cheaper.

Ah, duh, that makes more sense. The "Thursday = Black Friday" thing was immediately clear to me as I work in Retail, I wasn't even thinking that the items that went live on that Sunday were actually just a couple hours early for Cyber Monday. :dunce:

Would it be safe to say all of Major Nelson's deals are for Gold members only? I don't have gold at the moment so I don't know what does and doesn't qualify until I go into the game menus.

I plan on renewing Gold for Dishonored though. I get the Bioshock-like gameplay and graphics and it seemed like a good game from what I played on PS3.

Seems like these kinds of games are becoming the norm. I like them for the most part; the only exception I've encountered so far is Syndicate. I can't get into it.

Deals of the Week are gold-only but usually the special sales, like this week's Black Friday sales, are open to everyone.

I may pick up Poker Night 2 just for the BL2 items (I already got it along with the first one for about 5€ on PC, but I don't play BL2 there :( ).

Any objections to removing the price history links ("hi$tory") next to every deal? Instead, I'd like to just add this to the top:
Yes. There was no need to change the xbldb links in the BBCode Spylon provides to "hi$tory", and the links should remain there for convenience.

The heads for the Siren and Mechromancer that you can get from Poker Night 2 aren't the coolest.  However, playing a Gunzerker with Brock Samson hair is pretty awesome.  And the Portal inspired head for Zer0 is cool.  As an old school Evil Dead/Army of Darkness fan, it's hard not to like my Commando having the Evil Ash head.  I love the avatar awards.  I'm using the GLaDOS one for my avatar.

And from all I'm reading online, it looks like the lag in SoulCalibur 2 HD Online is pretty bad.  There are no lobbies for online play.  Private matches kick you back to main menu after completion.  You also don't have the ability to skip character intros at the start of matches.  Apparently, the music is kinda muted as well.  Which is a shame because the music for SoulCalibur 2 is pretty damn good.  There are no Japanese voices either, if that's an issue for you.  This all makes me glad I've decided to wait for a sale.  $20 just seems like it'd be a bit too much.

Yeah, I very nearly bought Soul Calibur II blind but now I'm glad I didn't. It seems to be super unpolished with a lot of little issues and problems coming to light. Not acceptable for the premium price they chose to launch at. I'll wait for a 50% off sale despite it being one of my favorite games of all time. :(

I was waiting to see the Black Friday deals before I purchased SoulCalibur 2, but now I'm going to wait until it hits 33% or more off.  I played the crap out of SCII on my PS2 back in the day with a group of friends who I'd love to play online with now since we've all gone to different parts of the country.  But if the netcode is this bad, it'd end up being just a single player game for me.  And $20 is too much.  I had a hard enough time convincing myself to spend that amount of Minecraft, but I don't regret that purchase at all.  I know I would regret spending that much on SCII.

Now to wait for the late Monday night sale overlap time to see if I should pick up Dishonored or if the Black Friday sale will be worth a damn.

Alan Wake got a price cut....(also there were GonD codes out for this game) sooo anyone assume that might be one of the GwG for December soon? lol

(and it has DLC which you would have to purchase lol)

I picked up Iron Brigade the day it changed to free, and started playing it a few days ago.

Different than what I was expecting before playing the trial edition, but I've been having a good time playing online with some other people. Wouldn't have really given it the time of day if it weren't for GWG. Trial version got me to start downloading the entire game.

That would be great because then a lot more people would get to play the game.

I loved the game and it's DLC, probably one of my favourite games on the 360. It just sucks American Nightmare couldn't live up to it.

Here's hoping they make Alan Wake 2!

Shit, more money for the Black Friday deals I guess.

Yea, sucked pretty hard as I remember. The holiday one day sales are the ones to be looking forward right now I'd say. Even then there's this feeling they don't really care since they want you to get an Xbone and move on this holiday.

That's what I'm afraid of. But hopefully they keep in mind the user base of the 360 has compared to what x1 will have in just a month. Fingers crossed but really there aren't a ton of arcade games that haven't been on sale before anymore. I'm guessing lots more GoD sales which is ok I guess

Are there any digital games $30 or lower for the Xbox One? I have that much in my account.
You can unlock all 8 characters in Killer Instinct for $20. Lococycle and Crimson Dragon are both $20 but got tore up in reviews (I'm pretty conflicted cuz I was kind of excited for both of them). There is also a Hot Shots golf rip-off for $20. Alarmingly, none of the XBOne digital games are below $20.

It's been looking like for awhile that the reason they got rid of the XBLA branding on X1 was so they can jack up prices. I would expect $20-$30 to be the new standard for games that would have been under the XBLA banner on X360 and I would expect some to be even higher priced.

I'm hoping Peggle 2 is under $20 when it releases in a few weeks. Since that will be available on multiple platforms I am hoping that it avoids this overcharging from first party Microsoft titles. Also, not that it is an immediate concern since the system just launched, but I was poking around on xbox.com and Lococycle is 13 GB (!?) while Crimson Dragon is 7 GB. Microsoft may need to figure out getting additional storage space on XBO sooner rather than later.

What are they going to do with the smaller XBLA-style games (like recently released Final Exam, Blood Knights, Magrunner, and The Bridge)?  I highly doubt people are going to pay $20+ for smaller scale 2D sidescrollers, twin stick shooters, beat em ups, etc., and yet they still have a place in the gaming world.  And what about smaller indie games that are $10 or less on Steam?  (like Hotline Miami and FTL)  No way many people are going to be okay with paying a 100% Xbox One tax just to have it on the One.

So if they abandon the $10 and $15 price range I think they're basically saying they're just not interested in those type of games anymore. I don't think that's going to happen.  Maybe that ID@Xbox program will explain more of this when it gets around to launching, though right now I kind of see that as just a fluff piece to counter Sony's huge indie focus.  I'm curious to see if they actually put resources into that program, or if they do honestly not care about smaller indie games any more.

I'm sure this isn't just a Microsoft issue, but my concern is that I'm not dying to download 13 GBs for a 4-6 hour game (not sure how long LocoCycle is but I'm sure it's not super long). It takes my PS3 at least an hour or longer to download and install something that big. I kind of liked the 2-3 GB cap for downloadable only games.

I'm pretty sure that I read/heard somewhere that Peggle 2 will launch at a price of $11.99, but I'm having trouble tracking down where I saw that.

So for those who got the Killer Instinct "gift," MS said they'd give more info today. Anyone got anything? Is it a code or just automatic if you have a One

It's a code. I got mine a couple hours ago. Expires 6/30/2014, maybe I'll have an X1 by then to redeem it. Don't know what would happen if you redeemed it without an X1, anyone tried? Although the email says it can only be redeemed on an X1 I don't know why you wouldn't be able to redeem it online.

"The single-use code can only be used once, and only on an Xbox One. Do not share the code with anyone else. This free gift is valid only for the authorized account holder of the gamertag this email is addressed to, is nontransferable and not redeemable for cash."

Hmm, idk, maybe you can only redeem it on the console.

Don't know when I'll get a One but I'm definitely gonna give my code away or trade it or something, have no interest in the game.

EDIT: Sorry, I mis-read a previous post...codes arent instantly redeemed upon entry, however the current codes supplied will only work to whom they were sent to...

MS make being a cheapassgamer just that little harder...

I ended up picking up my XB1 Day One edition and it's pretty cool redeeming codes with Kinect. Takes only a second or two. I had to enter the KI code manually like others said since it was in an email. My friend sent me a code for something on 360 and it said I had to redeem it on a 360 or online so codes are console specific which makes sense.

The lack of demos on xbox one for me is the biggest disappointment so far.

I also hope we are still getting weekly deals...
