in there defense crimson dragon an ryse are trash you might disagree with that but I would agree with them. I also believe that the combat in the last of us isnt that good. and for me gameplay is more important than any other aspect including story

 
I played through BL1 & 2 multiple times solo (and co-op). I had a great time with all my solo runs. I'll agree though that it's better with friends, but definitely not a horrible experience solo.

Missing content from BL2-GOTY from what I know.... all the "pay for skins", all the headhunter packs (Bloody Harvest - Marcus Saves Xmas - Waddle Gobbler - Wedding Day Massacre - Son Of Crawmerax), Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade, and digistruct peak challenge area.

I have to agree especially the part where the was a lot of robots around. I was just hanging back and taking shots because if I engaged it felt like they were looking for more people to kill besides me and it's was annoyingly chaotic.
 
I played all of borderlands one and all of the DLC except for the ninja clap trap one with my roommate at the time.  It was a great time.  I don't have that roommate anymore.  So when I play borderlands 2 i'll have to go solo or find some people online. I think i'll be ok with either one. 

 
I just read that 360 game sales are plummeting faster than forecasted. With the blue 360 announced, I'm predicting Microsoft will start giving us better date nights. Maybe not this week, but they will need to have more sales to eke the most money out of the last Gen. On an upnote, current Gen game sales are doing well.

That makes a lot of sense. If fewer people are buying disc based games and new downloadable titles, they can probably pull in more sales with cheaper arcade/GoD titles. Based just on UK sales of Destiny (might be different in the US, but interesting nonetheless), here's the breakdown by platform:

  • PS4 - 46%
  • XB1 - 36%
  • 360 - 14%
  • PS3 - 4%

Old gen is a very tricky situation. The numbers suggest that hardcore gamers have moved on to next gen and casuals aren't supporting them the way they use to.

I think both consoles would greatly benefit from a price drop bringing the cost down to $150-$200. However, I guess both Sony and MS are worried that such a move might undercut the market for PS4 and X1 this holiday season. What I'm interested to see is what happens in a couple of years when the price of a 360 or PS3 is in the same ballpark as AppleTV/Roku/AmazonFireTV. Do we see a resurgence in sales?

Old gen is a very tricky situation. The numbers suggest that hardcore gamers have moved on to next gen and casuals aren't supporting them the way they use to.

I think both consoles would greatly benefit from a price drop bringing the cost down to $150-$200. However, I guess both Sony and MS are worried that such a move might undercut the market for PS4 and X1 this holiday season. What I'm interested to see is what happens in a couple of years when the price of a 360 or PS3 is in the same ballpark as AppleTV/Roku/AmazonFireTV. Do we see a resurgence in sales?

Perhaps, there are a hell of a lot of units out there. I went by 3 pawn shops this week and all have dramatically cut prices on last Gen games. Most used games were $2 and less.

Shi-iiit, where are you? I'm coming for a visit. I'm going to guess near a "metro" area. Out here 'in the woods' (city of 15k) since the majority of people out here--including businesses--still think of the internet as a strange foreign land, the few thrift shops we have around in an hours drive in any direction price games and systems at GameStop pre-owned prices, even things as common as a Duck Hunt/Super Mario cart will go for $10-15 because they know that some hillbilly will pay that much. And they do because these are the same people that happily will pay full MSRP for a 5 year old 360 game up at "Walmarts". /BitterResentmentRant

Savannah Georgia....Up until a month ago the prices at pawn shops were consistent with Gamestop here, this drastic drop is new. I asked the owners of all three shops and they said the sales of 360 and PS3 games just fell out about 2 months ago. All said they were no longer buying last Gen games from people. Also they said PS4 games and One games are selling very quickly. The going rate on those was $20 with the exception of COD Ghosts which they can't sell for more than $15.
 
Well, date night should be interesting. Even if there's nothing I want, Xbox is giving me free Halo Reach for my birthday. I already own the game but it gives me a reason to play it. Plus this will be my first Halo game where I can try multiplayer.

If I had to guess for tonight, I'll go with a WWE sale on 2K14 and All Stars.

I played through both games solo with around 95% completion rates on all side quests. The second game handles side quests better. I seem to recall in the first game they were harder to find (although I played it in 2012, so my memory may be fuzzy).

Both games are very fun solo and up there for "game of the generation" in my opinion. I say this as someone who does not play games with other people (multiplayer or cooperative).

Is All-Stars available on demand these days? I haven't checked. Wasn't sure if there was ever an on demand version, although I know it had a demo. Then there's the whole "THQ going out of business" thing.

Not trying to crap on your post (if you're even serious) but I am curious.
 
Semi serious. I was going to say "DLC sale" but they did that for Borderlands already.  

As long as it's not a Rockstar sale, I'm happy.

I shaved and got a hair cut, so I am definitely ready for date night. I would like to see another Sega sale, but with larger discounts.

Also Borderlands 2 was one of the best games I played last gen. I still play a decent bit with my friends. Anyone on the fence about picking it up for $5, should definitely pick it up.

It is official. MS is buying Mojang for $2.5 Billion.  Man do they have mad money.  Would have preferred them making a few new studios with that cash.

I haven't played Reach in years.  But since it's going to be games with gold, I may have to load it up and dust off my halo cobwebs.

Good for him. Not everyone is cut out to maintain, support, and be the face of what has grown to literally be one of the most popular games EVER. And if that's not what he wants, good on him for not faking it for another decade for $$$ or out of fear of public backlash. And he made his freinds and coworkers rich in the process as well.

Just because he gave us Minecraft doesn't mean he's obligated to then give us anything else. And if you follow his Twitter feed, you've noticed he really DOES seem at his happiest modding things, tweaking things, fiddling with things... He now has more money than he likely ever dreamed of anyways, why not focus on what makes him happy.

What's even more insane is that MS projects they will make that $2.5 billion back by June 2015. Notch is swimming in his money like Scrooge McDuck right now

I am leaving late for my date tonight cause there have been too many repeats and I've scored the same for less in the past. Gonna watch the Eagles/Colts game and then I'll saunter into the restaurant with a belly full o' beer and chicken wings sauce on my beard. Maybe I'll wear a collared shirt if I feel like being fancy
