Please note:

 • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
 • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
 • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
 • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
 • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
 • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

You realize you only lost 1% if I remember the old tiers right.
But you have to spend $150 per tier right? This system might have been better 3 or 4 years ago, but all I'm buying now are the few things that get a heavy enough discount that I haven't bought yet. I MIGHT buy the Destiny expansions if I don't have a PS4 by the time they release. I'll be lucky if I get one star in a year. It's clearly designed for Xbone, though I guess that makes sense.

I think it was higher for 75,000+ tier. It isn't the percentage that I'm mad about, its the fact that I should be higher than a 1 star. There's probably nothing I can do to get that fixed. I have been having problems with stuff not counting such as membeship and purchases etc.. before the change. Now I see that it is still continuing. If I was in my right tier, I'd be more happy about it.

Just be happy it ever recognized any of your stuff, ever.
I thought you was going to call to see what was going on?

edit- Did your Mincraft work yet? I had an unlocked cheevo from Feb. apparently and it still shows $19.99 after playing yesterday

I had meant to and kept waiting to see if it would work on it's own and ended up forgetting. Oh well.

Haven't tried Minecraft again yet.

I'm in the Preview and I noticed Forza is available to download and play for free for the weekend for the Xbox One Gold members.  I noticed on the dashboard, Featured section, it says Free Forza 5 Gold Weekend.  I'm downloading now, it's 40.31gb.  Sorry if I'm late to the party and this was already posted.

I found the breakdown in the terms and conditions page by dumb luck.

http://rewards.xbox....and-conditions/

Tier Min Spend %Back Free % Back Gold

One star $150 1% 2%

Two stars $400 2% 4%

Three stars $650 3% 6%

Four stars $900 4% 8%

Five stars $1200 5% 10%

Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare Cheetos characters are free for all starting today...anybody else confirm this?

So X360 and PS3 versions of Destiny come with a voucher to download X1 or PS4 (based on which version you bought) for FREE. It works until January 15th. Also working with the digital version. Amazing news for those who, like me, want Destiny now and also get a new console later on. Even if you don't own the console yet you can cue it from the browser.

One star $150 1% 2%

Two stars $400 2% 4%

Three stars $650 3% 6%

Four stars $900 4% 8%

So I'm guessing past purchases before the transition from points to dollars don't count? Since with Rock Band DLC and other purchases there's no way I shouldn't at least be at four stars.

If this is true, I'll be on the lookout for a Destiny voucher for the low.

So could I just rent a 360 version on Redbox and get this done?

EDIT:  Everything I'm seeing is that this applies only to digital.  Makes sense or they would lose a lot of sales.

It seems to be if it's a voucher, you could buy the 360 version, redeem xbox one code, then trade in?
If you're talking about Destiny, the free upgrade is only if you buy the game digitally. And it's not a voucher, it simply unlocks the Xbox One version on the same profile you bought the 360 version with. They did something similar with Call of Duty: Ghosts but it was a code you could buy from Target.

It only covers the current calendar year. The TOS mentions that they reset your status in the program in January.

No, you can buy the physical version and then make it give you the 4.99 price.

It's been mentioned in many articles and they have mentioned that they knew people would rent the game.

Was speaking on Destiny, don't play Minecraft.

Yeah. That they expect you to spend $100 per month on Xbox Live to get that highest tier is crazy. There's optimism and then there are unrealistic expectations.
Theoretically it sort of makes sense if we go back to the suicide announcements. No real point to buying discs aside from not murdering bandwidth, why not buy them digitally exclusively? 2 brand new games a month. Full retard sure, but I guess they're aiming this at people with a lot of money to blow with no patience. The reward program has been shit since it left beta years ago, I never expect it to improve even with all the backpedaling in the past year.

The Terms & Conditions don't actually say the VIP status resets in January. I read this section over and over to try to discern when they reset, but it's not actually stated. January refers to the resetting of the rollover of spending "funds". They're calculating your spent funds in blocks of $10. Anything over $10 gets rolled over every month through December. Anything not rolled over by the end of the year gets reset in January.

As for the VIP rankings, it only says this:

VIP rankings will change each year per Sponsor’s discretion.

But it doesn't clarify when they actually reset. Or actually, even if they reset, just that they could "change".

I've read a lot in that T&C, and they leave a lot of questions unanswered.

I have 1 star and have a 48% progress towards the second star, that means I spent a lot of money on XBL this year only? Oh wow

Does anyone know how to get the minecraft from the physical disc?

Has anyone successfully done it?

x_x
Yes, I have. It's not just about unlocking an achievement, but about logging into a world while you're logged into the Xbox and going online (that's what they've stated). Is it possible your achievement you earned was earned offline? If so, that wouldn't count. I had the game showing up at $4.99 last night when it was posted, after having only rented the physical disc game.

Also, they do state that in their FAQs that after being online with a copy from 360, it will take up to 72 hours for the discount to appear, so if you go online with the game today, you might need to wait until next week to see it.

The last date night was weird.  These deals came from the moon.  This Activision sale didn't have much to offer me, since most the titles on 360 I enjoy from the publisher tends to come from Bizarre Creations and High Moon Studios both of which sadly is closed down.  I can still enjoy Blur the same way I did back in its beta days and I still feel Geometry Wars 2: Retro Evolved is the definitive twin stick shooter on XBLA, there's quality titles an Activision sale can bring.  However, Geometry Wars 2 had already been discounted before for me to get and I've already gotten most of their delisted Marvel comics game DLC and XBLA Guacamelee, so there's not much else they can offer me.  Yet, this is a good sale preparing everyone for the release of Destiny this coming week, and the Legend of Korra game for me later this year.

I cannot really complain too much about the remaining Deals with Gold, since it did offer one DLC for an MMA game.  So the sale did touch upon different formats across different game genres as it did the previous week.  However, I would have preferred if the DLC to Carcassone was discounted as well; the base game had been discounted and even offered for free before and I wish something was offered for the rest of us.  Also as a warning to those interested in the discount to Persona 4 Arena, later this month Persona 4 Ultimax will come out on the 360 which has more characters, balance changes, and presumably improvements reducing the value of the one on sale now, just like how the announcement for Dead or Alive 5: Last Round reduces the value of the new character DLC for Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate.  As long as the deals continue to expand and include XBLA, DLC, and GonD for various genres, it may not be as difficult for me to earn the rewards.

Then again, the amounts of money needed for each tier of Xbox Rewards refunds seems like a lot.  After I had spent so much effort the last couple months to break the 75k personal gamerscore barrier.  I had thought I was a "whale" with all that I had spent on games, DLC, XBLA, accessories (controllers/HDDs/cables/headsets/headphones), subscriptions, etc. and after all that I'm still not considered a loyal member by stars.  The higher spending is also reflected in the MyPunchards which does have a higher return, but requires so much more spending that I cannot foresee myself plopping down that kind of coin.  However the rewards program does have this great section for playing the Games with Gold, which I think is possible for me to participate, it incentivizes me to play the titles in my backlog as the PlayXBLA Weekend Achievement Challenges did for me a while back.  With only a 360, I have just Monaco (and I think that 360 dashboard tile for its addon is just gamer pictures, which I do not think counts towards the additional 2000 reward points, pretty misleading), those of you with the Xbox One has an even greater potential for some rewards.  So it is not all bad, well the site design is still bad too, but if any of you guys know of Silver/free friends I can refer to Gold, let me know ^^.

Considering backlog, I just noticed in addition to the server shutdowns of Doritos Crash Course 2 and Ascend: Hand of Kul on October 15th and November 18th respectively, World Series of Poker: Full House Pro is set to shut down as well on March 4th, 2015 (at least on the 360).  That leaves only World of Tanks and Happy Wars the only Free 2 Pay games under the Microsoft Studios banner for the 360 (I do not know if Warface is Microsoft Game Studios).  I have been pretty miserable playing these games lately, but I think that is the nature of my adverse feelings towards online only games, where any joy (if any) can only be had in a restricted time frame.  Perhaps that's why I prefer most titles in physical form such that I can enjoy game in a future just as I would enjoy it now, by my own terms.  Just wanted to throw out that reminder.

I am glad the deal on Xbox One Minecraft is valid for a year.  So I'll have plenty of time to weigh my options, while I am without an X1 at this time (no Titanfall parkour for me at this time).  I'll need that time since there's so many great games coming out that I'm pretty hyped about now that summer is about to end and the fall/holiday season is ready to amp up.  I'm already preparing myself for the storm on the 360 with the aforementioned Legend of Korra and Persona 4 Ultimax along with Costume Quest 2, Resident Evil HD Remaster, and Slender: The Arrival.  In addition to all the other titles I want on other platforms this holiday .  I have no idea how I can afford it all before the end of this year.  That's why I am hoping this coming date night goes easy on me.

My prediction for next week's sale WB and Codemasters, my source for the guess is my anus.  I would hope WB offers the Fear series DLC discounted instead of just being their usual Batman offerings.  Codemasters is one publisher which hasn't had its DLC on sale before, and I wouldn't mind some DiRT Showdown DLC discounted, and I know someone here has a signature clamoring for DiRT 2.  I for once am trying to be optimistic about date night even though the last one wasn't my thing, but it wasn't bad.  I hope this coming date night we find that special something, that lasts all week long marathon style ... see everyone there.

[EDIT:  Crap, I was trying to aim for the bottom of the page, and ended out starting at the top of a new one -_-, bolded sections since I cannot find my reply posts from previous thread]

Wow. Guess I am buying it now then.

If you're a fan of the Persona 3/4 stories, there's no reason to ignore Arena in favor of Ultimax because Arena's story mode is a sequel to those two games and Ultimax's story mode follows what happened in Arena a few days later, so there's merit to getting both depending on what you want out of them.

Hah... Well Dirt 2 got delisted who-knows-when 2013. Didn't like the 3rd one and the 4th entry is undoubtedly in development but that's taking forever to formally announce.

[clamoring intensifies]

I have to say i kinda like the new reward system. That feature of playing 10 hours of GwG every 2 weeks for 1000 credits seems cool. That along the poll are easy free credits, no need to spend moneis to rack up points. It assures you almost 5000 credits (5$) every 2 months (for a 360 only owner)

Also since this is the first month and microsoft's faq and tocs are always so cryptic, i would recommend to download Monaco again if you did it before 4th of september, since that date somehow marks the beginning of the new feature. Just saying, maybe it's irrelevant.

So is there anyway to stop games in your queue from downloading? I have Forza 5 downloading (taking forever) and want to skip it for Minecraft. Any help would be appreciated.

go to my games and apps, then queue and press start on forza and pause it. Minecraft should now start downloading

Unless you want the current game with the active community and don't care about the story. Though then you're probably not buying P4A anyway.

Who should I pick on Warframe, I'm absolutely torn right now? Been flipping through these 3 characters for the last 10 minutes.

So do the good Madden players play h2h and not MUT?

I was having trouble winning in h2h, and started playing MUT and I'm kicking ass.

(my first game was a little kid who kept getting pissed with mommy bugging him)

I want to play h2h for achievements, but MUT is too addicting.

The way I think MUT works is you start off as a 2nd string rookie. You only play other 2nd string rookies. After your first season, you advance to 1st string rookie where opponents are much tougher. You have to win at least 3 games in the 2nd season or you will get demoted to 2nd string. This continues through all the difficulties until you hit All Madden 1st string. Each time you rank up, you get more rewards for making playoffs, 1st round bye, etc.

It starts off with you playing really bad players, but it gets much harder. I ended my first season on a 13 game win streak. Started 2nd season 0-2. Think I'm up to 3-2 currently.

Took the time to get a half dozen achievements in Minecraft, no price change.  Uploaded my online world save to the Xbone, no price change.  Stick the disc in the Xbone, no price change and the system yells at me.

We need to start badgering MS about this I think.

From the Minecraft FAQ at PlayXBLA:

Q: If I bought “Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition” and played it for the first time today, would the upgrade offer appear immediately on my Xbox One?

A: No. It takes a little while for the Live-Elves to file everything in the proper place in order that you can get the offer. It should appear on your Xbox One between 48-72 hours afterwards before the offer will show up.
So I wouldn't worry unless the offer fails to show up for you after the weekend.
