  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

I'm looking at the descriptions for DA2 Legacy and Mark of the Assassin, and they both say:

"Includes: (1) Hours of adventuring spread across several brand-new areas"

Can anyone confirm this? That makes them sound way overpriced.

How much does The Exiled Prince add? It doesn't say.
Both Mark of the Assassin and Legacy are 4 hours long each I think. Not sure on exiled prince but I think that's more about the added companion.

Edit:eek:riginally had them at 5-6 hours long each but I think that's too long.

I'd go ahead and sign up for this if I could use my Gamestop credit or Microsoft credit. I'll patiently wait, I suppose. I can see why EA Access might have been threatening to Sony since the service appears to be on track to rival PS Plus quality. I know it isn't there yet, but "free" next-gen AAA games sure look better than "free" indie titles (at least to me).

I had been thinking of cancelling my EA Access sub, but this has the potential to change my mind.
I just bought the year sub and never looked back. It has easily been close to deal of the year for me sans some glitches ($0.38 AC4)

Peggle is always fun. Me and my friends have been having a blast with NFS and wouldn't have even thought about getting it prior to EA Access. Then BF4 was a good chunk of time.

Now PvZ being added is insanely gooddeals

Good to see this has been confirmed, and no games were removed. Of course, I still have a tiny bit of fear they might remove games from The Vault eventually: Access can only be made from the console apparently, so I need to wait until I get an Xbox One before subscribing. They better not cut FIFA 14 before I arrive :shame:

Thanks. I would hope they would be more than an hours worth of content each.

Convince me I need Raymon.....for XOne, or tell me why I don't. I loved Origins.
A lot of great games coming out between now and Black Friday. If you can rent games, you'll have plenty to keep you busy until BF. If nowhere near you rents games, Project Spark and Killer Instinct Season 2 are free games that recently came out. I highly recommend both and they have plenty of content (PS unlimited content) to keep you busy until BF.

On other side, this level happens early in the game and almost got to buy it the weekend I rented it (close to launch) at full price.

I just had to do some serious storage cleaning for Darksiders 2 and Dragon Age.

Delete all that useless Halo 4 multiplayer data fellas, just a waste of space now.

Yes. Everyone should get Kingdoms of Amalur.

It was not a game that you would expect to be great (I bought it for ten dollars just to see how it played), but it was. It had an extremely cliche story (not bad, just your typical RPG story) that didn't have much going for it that every fantasy RPG already did much better several times over, but it was quite fun to play. It was my definitive GOTY for 2012 even beating out Mass Effect 3 which was a great surprise to me.

You would be a fool to pass this gem up. Also get both the DLC's being offered.

Puttin it simple: do not let pass the chance to play darksiders 2 for free, great game. As important: do not spend a single coin in any dlc, it's a waste of money.

I already beat the main game of KoA and i loved it, tempted to go back and run through the DLC.

Also tempted to buy Dragon Age.... maybe if I would actually have time to finish it before inquisition comes out

You know I might have considered buying Darksiders 1 to go along with the free copy of 2 if it had been $5 (or less) but  having it at $10 is a joke considering it's been cheaper in the past.

I probably have 3 or 4 finished playthroughs done in Dragon Age Origins, but since it's my favorite RPG, I bought it again because 3.74 is hard to pass up on a game I really enjoy. I own all the DLC so the base game is all I need now. The rest of the games in my backlog are a little upset they're getting a new companion, but they'll get over it. They'll get their time eventually.

True story, bro. If you had the retail version with the pass thing that EA was doing at the time and still have that pass on your hard drive, it creates a game breaking glitch. You'll need to delete that from your hard drive. That makes the game playable, but it may make the N7 armor unobtainable. That's what happened to me.....and why I stopped playing. No N7 armor, no deal!
Chubby you do know that armor becomes outclassed after a couple of hours because it's so low level, right?

I can't get rid of my physical versions of the DA games now (Origins CE and Signature Edition of 2) as I got them signed by the devs at PAX East. Also got both CE strat guides signed as well as my ME 2/3 CE strat guides.

Damn all of that made my backpack so HEAVY at PAX East. :)

What do you mean? Gamestop takes games in all sorts of conditions and with all types of marks and whatnot on the case. I'm sure they'd take your signed copies.

Jokes aside, that is pretty awesome to have in the collection.

I really want to try Dragon Age but I feel like it would make more sense to get the ultimate edition... but for $4 the base game is tempting.
The only 4 DLC's that truly matter for Origins are on sale also for 50 or 75% off, so $19.xx for everything on sale digitally is cheaper than the Ultimate Edition at GS unless you have some sort of coupon (it's currently $25 used, down from the $35 it's generally always been.) As others have said, finding an UE can be difficult for anyone not in a major city as the game is fairly rare in GS terms, hence it's always high price.

Awakening is the main DLC as it's the 20-hour expansion that takes place after Origins. This DLC brings one Origins follower back and gives you several new ones, including Anders and Justice, who are a big part of DA 2's plot. Decisions in this do carry over into DA 2 and either changes or eliminates some side quests in DA 2.

Warden's Keep is the infamous DLC that is available in your camp where the guy will tell you his plight until the game does the check to see if you have the DLC; but is actually super useful. Once you beat it you get a chest to store your extra items so you're not always destroying stuff b/c inventory is full. It also allows you to get the most powerful sword in all of Origins forged there once you have the metorite random event happen. I recommend doing this after you get out of Lothering near the beginning, but maybe first do ...

Leliana's Story is the origin tale (played as a side story under new game) for Leliana that is quite fun and lets you get one of the best rogue sets of armor in the game if you do the side objective of finding the 5 pieces in the DLC. Since Leliana appears in 2 and is a major figure in 3 I highly recommend playing this.

Witch Hunt is another side story meant to be played last (even after Awakening) and resolves what happened with a major character post Origins, who also appears in Inquisition.

You miss: Return to Ostagar, which only gives you an armor set for Allistair and gives closure to an event near the beginning of the game that's skippable; Golems of Amgarrak, which is a one-hour side story that takes place after Origins dealing with the dwarves that is completely skippable, and Darkspawn Chronicles, which is a neat concept but horrible executed where you play part of the final sequence of the game as the different Darkspawn classes instead of the Warden's crew.

Both Mark of the Assassin and Legacy are 4 hours long each I think. Not sure on exiled prince but I think that's more about the added companion.

Edit:eek:riginally had them at 5-6 hours long each but I think that's too long.
Mark and Legacy are each a few hours long, and are the best part of DA 2 so I highly recommend buying and playing them. They are meant to be played anytime after the start of Act 2. Just beware if you hate Felicia Day you may want to (sadly) skip MotA as her Dragon Age character, Tallis, is the focus of it.

I would say 3-4 hours each sounds right, especially if you want to unlock everything (there is a secret boss in Legacy that is one of the hardest fights in the entire game, and special weapon/armors that you have to search and/or solve puzzles for.)

Looks like I got my wish, DA:O:Awakenings has hit $5...just grabbed it.

Question about the DA2 dlc's, for those of you who have them...Do any of them, other than Exiled Prince, add in any permanent main game companions?

Skipping Mark of the Assassin because Felicia Day annoys the hell out of me.
Nope that's it. The 4 Origins ones have various people that are only with you for those DLC's, you already mentioned Felicia in Mark, and Legacy
brings back your sibling if possible for another adventure.

Essentially Exiled Prince is what led to the whole From Ashes fiasco in Mass Effect 3 as it was a similar setup (free w/CE, extra $ without.) Except for DA 2 Sebastian was just padding as you could only have a chaste relationship with him as a female and he's an archer-only rogue which is already taken by the superior Varric. Plus the Awakening-style super long expansion that was going to focus on his plight was canceled after DA 2's poor sales (1/2 of what Origins was.)

Meanwhile the character locked behind the paywall for Mass Effect 3 was super critical to the plot of the entire series and his inclusion in the game if you paid for him improves the lore of the game considerably. Listen to the 2012 Giant Bomb GotY discussion when Brad Shoemaker goes into his discussion with Jeff Gertsmann with how much of ME 3's lore is locked behind pay DLC (From Ashes & Leviathan) that Jeff didn't have access to for the review and Brad played entirely in late 2012. (Brad had a corrupted USB stick eat his 360 saves and after spending hundreds of $ to try to retrieve the data from the stick he ended up using some PC hacks to create a 360 save file that pretty much encompassed what he had done in the first 2 games.)

I just started DA2 about a week ago and this sale happens.

My question is: does the origins dlc have any impact on 2? If I play the origins dlc, should I start 2 over and import the save again?

Awakenings introduces characters that are regulars in DA2.
Like Fox said Awakening introduces 2 characters that are a major part of DA 2's plot. There are also decisions and even side quests that change or disappear depending on choices in Awakening. In terms of the DA 2 DLC it's meant to be played anytime after the start of Act 2 so you should be fine.

The reason to play everything DA related right now, and all of the sales, is the Dragon Age Keep PC app (currently in closed beta) will be in open beta by the end of the month and it will read all of your save data (granted you played the game connected to the internet and agreed to EA/Bioware's terms) to setup the state of Thedas in your playthrough of Inquisition, no matter what system you played Origins/2 on and no matter what system you play Inquisition on (even 360 to PS4 like I'm doing.)

A heads up to all DA and DA2 new owners:

Found this link scouring the inter webs, if you link the version of the game you have to your bioware account you get a bunch of promotional weapons for both games. If this has already been posted or I shouldn't have posted this link here, let me know and I'll delete. But anyway, I don't know if the weapons are any good/worth it but wanted to share.

I'm surprised this still works, originally it was only supposed to work for like a week. Originally it unlocked EVERY promo weapon/armor available for both games except the ones locked behind the pay DLC expansions.

Lets see, So far I picked up DA:O, Awakenings, Witch Hunt, and Exiled Prince. Already owned DA2, Return to Ostegar, Stone Prisoner, and Wardens Keep. Was planning on skipping Leilana's Song since she's not one of my fave characters, but might pick it up on the weekend if she's tied to the Inquisition.

I think thats all I can afford, so hopefully theres nothing else essential that I'm missing...
