Yep, it's the first time that I've ever complained about a GWG, because it's awesome that any game is free but it's a different matter when they offer a free "game" and only give you 1/3 of it. That's a promotion, not a free game.

They could have at least had the curtesy of selling the other two episodes for $2.50 each or AT LEAST $5 each. I mean shit, BF was just the other day and while it wasnt as good as past years, there were better deals than this "free" game to be had. They're basically selling the game for 33% off. Well shit, I just bought dragon age 3 on a Cyber Monday deal for 25% off and it just came out a couple weeks ago and is on a resellable physical media.

St. Louis has Monsanto, which is pretty much constantly under cyberattack. Not sure about Kirksville.

EDIT: After further review, Norse uses honeypots to track attackers, and a majority of those honeypots are probably located in those areas, given that they have offices in St. Louis.

It really is an insult. Doesn't this kind of undermine the premise of GWG? So much for competing with Sony. At least it serves as a handy reminder that Microsoft is NOT interested in benefiting the consumer.

Now I'm not down on the choice of game. The Raven may be a buggy mess that controls terribly, but I found it kind of charming. It scratched my adventure game itch well enough. I wouldn't take issue with this game being offered for free. But they're giving away part of a game.

It is possible they are going to start putting better titles on X1 as an incentive to 360 owners to finally upgrade. They may also have the next ep free next month. Who knows though. Both companies aren't all about consumer first though.
 
I was giving MS the benefit of the doubt, thinking they'd be giving all 3 episodes as the GwG. Giving away the first episode of an episodic game is pretty much standard, and shouldn't be part of GwG.

Now that live is back up I also picked up Crysis and SRIV Season Pass...

Well i bought Catherine TWO WEEKS ago and now it's around half price. I win. dammit

I had a great time with it, it's a must for puzzle solving gamers, but as many others have noted it's not a game for everyone. Also if you value your game completion above the game experience, you should avoid this.

 
Just downloaded Onigiri, couldn't resist.

The game looks fun and cool little F2P mmorpg. I don't know any Japanese but from reading posts about it, it sounds pretty easy to understand on what to do etc..

Is there a way to filter XBLDB to just Xbox One games?

I feel like I must be missing something....only versions I saw mentioned of Metro series were of the old 360 releases....

 
Been trying all night to download stuff, no worky. The 172kb SRIV season pass unlocker quits at 43%, Burnout looks like it gets to 98% then flips over to 1%...damn hackers need to be tossed into a volcano!

And the Netflix app just sits there not loading. Gotta restart the system to get back to the dash.

Is the download for Dead Island Riptide really only 3.43 gigs?   Just wondering because I could swear game downloads were a lot bigger.  It's an issue for me because cheapo comcast has a 300gb cap in my area so I have to be mindful of what I use or I get charged extra.

It's a small game :/ Still fun though! Recommended for four bucks :D

What is the point of this hacking? If they're going to do it, they should at least make everything free, during said hacking. Otherwise...it's just pointless. IMO..

Well im already hooked on toy story and my son loves to watch the game too its really fun

Seems like the disney games are a bit pricey though like atleast some of them should be 4.99.

Might bite on the saints row 4 season pass cause even if i dont get the game now the season pass is not bad at 2.49.

Dead Island Riptide at that price if a steal as well,not perfect but it is a good game for that price especially like the fact that its only about 3 gigs.

 
Today I got an email from Microsoft saying that they tried to charge my credit card to renew gold but it was declined. Here's the problem, why are they trying to charge me when my Live doesn't expire until next year in December. I just redeemed a 12 month code.
