In the last week I've had a few attempts to access my account. I think some of them even had the right password

but they didn't get through the security. Might be a good idea to check yours. I didn't have any unauthorized activity until last week. https://account.live.com/Activity

 
FWIW:  I'm still working with Newegg on taxation of gift cards in Indiana.  They are incorrectly charging Indiana Sales Tax on all orders including gift cards of all types/delivery methods.  I received a response this evening as I tried to get in on the promotion for Xbox Live credit this weekend.  I missed the promotion (and the Skate titles I was going to purchase) as I'm quite stubborn on these things and was hoping for resolution.  My backlog is probably relieved, but I did want to get it resolved in earnest of the customers who have been purchasing these since the tax began being collected just recently in our state.

I've exhausted a decent amount of time disabling addons, using different browsers, adding cards of different types (see restaurants, etc.)  I did so in order to troubleshoot in any way possible from my end.

**TL:DR  If you buy ANY type of gift card from NewEgg as an Indiana resident, watch for being taxed and be prepared to resolve/refund through support.**

I knew it was going to be good, but it exceeded my expectations for sure. Telltale did an excellent job of capturing the shock factor of the series, the ending was shocking to say the least

I disagree. Telltale's Game of Thrones is an easy jumping in point IMO. Will be posting my review which addresses that (and the issue of spoilers) later today.

Are you familiar with the series yourself? Maybe it's playable and decent to people who don't follow but I highly doubt the characters and storyline will have nearly as much of an enjoyable impact. Regardless - it was fantastically done and I'm already eager for episode 2.

I've seen the first two episodes of the show, but that's it. Being able to recognize references and characters from the show or books is cool, but not needed just to enjoy the game. Telltale establishes why the 4(?) important characters from the show matter to this narrative pretty well, which is the important thing. Agreed it's a fantastic game.

So, I spent most of my time yesterday on the new Xbox One F2P Japanese MMORPG: Onigiri. You can find it for free on the Japanese marketplace, and given the console's region free nature, it will run with no issues on any account (though Gold is clearly required being this an online game). Yes, the game kinda looks like a PS2 launch title, and yes, it's all in Japanese, so understanding some of the quests and items might be hard. But is the game fun? Yes, it is. While many things are pretty basic and standard for MMORPGs, I must note the fairly original art style at parts, especially when it comes to the enemies. The character creation is solid, and I like the real time combat method, much more fun than the usual "click on enemy so the character fights for you" approach. There aren't many players right now, especially besides Japanese people, so if you like what you saw and/or enjoyed trying the game, feel free to add me, the gamertag is the same as my username on CAG.

This sounds like something you should email your county/state representative about; they actually posit having the power to do something about incorrect taxation of goods, etc.

I actually didn't consider emailing representatives as you mentioned. However, I did look into the appropriate course of action from the Attorney General's page. That method requires a purchase/transaction to have already taken place. This is obviously a less than desirable situation as many wouldn't even bother on small purchases ... pure assumption though. Thanks for the extra tidbit of info on that. I'll certainly be following that advice!!

Hopefully Harmonix puts the electric six pack on sale like it did the spinal tap ones when they got delisted. I seem to recall that the Lights Resolve song was free if anyone doesn't have that.

 
So tempted to pick up Metro Redux for XB1 (prefer digital, which is why I didn't pick it up at BB on BF), but I already have a backlog...decisions decisions!  Any opinions of this game?

Word. Metro 2033, the base game, was probably one of the most discounted games ever. It was given away for free on PC in multiple occasions. Outside of that, it was in 1$ bundles and similarly low prices have been thrown around on Steam as well. On console, the game costed 5 bucks or so more than once. The sequel didn't get this kind of treatment, but its price went down pretty damn fast. I don't see why this remake shouldn't be costing like half price in a few months.

It was already at half price ($25) for a physical copy for Black Friday. I have no doubt it will go that low or lower digital within the year.

 
Crap...decided to give Defiance a try...6.2gb patch required to play...wth lol

Update...so after the additional 6gb patch install the game is now saying I need additional space for another 3gb patch...screw this...not nearly interested enough in this game to have a 15+GB install size...my HD is only the tiny 20gb anyway!

Good news! You no longer have to worry about if your party will remain together in the Master Queef Collection when you back out of matchmaking!  With the new patch today they added the feature where it just crashed to dashboard when you back out!

Pretty annoyed that the XBL Rewards points deposit date got moved back AGAIN (from the 4th to the 18th) and that the MyVIP rebates aren't showing up yet. Might just get the Halo game due to the 15 bucks you get back from it this month, so then I'll have 45 bucks (at least) waiting for deposit whenever they get around to actually doing that.

 
Just finished the first episode of GoT and it was really good, good acting in it especially that Ramsay Snow guy. I might just need to binge  all the seasons of GoT now ;o

The reason Metro 2033 was so cheap and so often is that it was part of the defunct THQ games that Deep Silver bought when THQ went under. Considering that they just paid about $5.9 million for the rights to both Metro games they were pretty much happy to give away the original game in the hope that people would purchase the sequel for full price. Considering that Metro: Last Light sold as much in its first week as Metro 2033 did in its first 3 months it was a pretty successful strategy.

That's what I've been doing before even starting the game. No spoilers for me! I'm two episodes in to season 4, so I'm almost there.

First game that happened to me was KOTOR 2. Granted, I had been playing for about 12 hours straight and it was about 3am when I dozed off. Controller in hand, my Jedi walking in to a wall.
