It's a lot of fun. It's my favorite RE game since 4. It really feels like you're playing a resident evil game, and not just an action game with the word "t-virus" thrown in.

Yes, it was called the Countdown to 2015 sale. Expect a similar thing this year, too. There were different games and season passes on sale everyday for like a week.

I've also heard that there will be a sale correlating to Keighley's Video Game Awards this year, too.

And finally, don't forget that Microsoft Store has a BF sale, too. Their sale usually features a free, broken website for everyone.

I ask because you are the expert Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin player...

Even if I sucked at DSII (never finished it on 360 - didn't even come close) is it worth fighting through it on XB1? It is going to be a measly $16 next week at BB w/ GCU. And I am tempted to grab it again. Sell me on it, or talk me out of it. Can it be played in short, 1 or 2 hour bursts?

(Note: I am playing Bloodborne on PS4 concurrently, and find it much more manageable than DSII.)

I should note that I just transferred all my 360 save files to the cloud....don't know if that had anything to do with it, or just random timing.

What's funny is I hit "Continue" from the Fable 2 menu and it loaded up a save. I was wandering around some tomb, shooting random glowing orbs. As its now been...what...seven years (?) since I last played or even thought of the game, loading up the save was like reliving another moment in my life. I vaguely recalled dressing my character in a ridiculous outfit, and the game just getting progressively sillier.

("Oh yes - I remember when this was the kind of thing I would do....")

To those wondering about Fable 2, there are some general inconsistencies on the BC titles downloadable on X1. For me, I got to download Sonic 2 XBLA despite never owning or playing it. Same goes for Mirror's Edge, which I own but on disc, and for some reason it was in my Ready To Install list despite not having inserted the game into the console. So yeah, my suggestion is if that you are interested in your "bonus" games, try and download and play them ASAP because there clearly are errors and they might get fixed. Remember they can revoke ownership on the X1.

I know you can buy the Japanese version of Gears of War 2 from Amazon US. Just search Gears of War 2 japan.

Both standard and Limited Editions are available. I wonders if the gold weapons work across regions?

I just bought the last german version of Bioshock for US $33 w/shipping included via Amazon.uk.....sorry. I know you can easily grab the Japanese versions of games via eBay. A tad pricey(Gears 2 is US $20 when it's $3 at gamestop iirc), so you can always look there. Korean games I suggest you try Gmarket

Yep. The full game doesn't work on my 360 anymore, never deleted it or anything. Trying to load my old saves tells me that it requires the other episodes or something. Anyone who still has it on their 360 should check to see if their's still works.

According to x360a, they said you only need to buy dlc ONCE. If you own say the Borderlands DLC on your home account, it will work with any version of the game.

I know for a fact however, that the Japanese version of Borderlands never got Claptrap's New Robot Revolution dlc. Therefore, the JP version of Borderlands has 1500 Gamerscore obtainable vs 1750 for my US Borderlands

I definitely plan on getting Gears 2, then. Probably Borderlands and the BioShocks. Probably cheaper to get Gears 2 through Amazon for $10.90 than some of the cheap auctions on Yahoo Japan after the various markups. $10 shipped for Borderlands JP from a Hong Kong seller on eBay.

Not just achievements, no. It's hard for me to justify going back and dedicating 15+ hours to a game I already played. Work, school, family, friends, sports, fiancée, fiancée's child that wants to play anytime I see him.........Achievements are an added incentive/motivator to get me to play again. She wants to watch the story(she's never seen nor played Bioshock) and I am a collector so the imported version of Bioshock will look cool in my game room

Hope you don't mind me jumping in, but I definitely recommend Dark Souls II SotFS. I played through DS II on the 360 and thought it was okay, but the newer version is way better. The framerate in SotFS is so much better than DS II, and is the biggest improvement in my opinion. The graphics are also really crisp, and it looks a ton better than the 360 version. The gameplay is largely the same, but they did change enemy placement and fix most of the broken hitboxes. Item placement has been changed as well, allowing you to find equipment and estus flask shards pretty early.

In terms of difficulty, I found it to be a bit more challenging than Bloodborne, but it definitely felt more balanced throughout than the original. The DLC content is pretty good too, each having unique enemies and weapons/armor/spells. Each DLC takes about 5+ hours to finish, combine that with the main game and you easily have 45-50 hours of gameplay for $16+ tax.

Slightly different achievement list. Both have 1750 obtainable however

EDIT: As darkblueprint said, JP version has more geared toward multiplayer. Some are easy, level up to 60, 65, 60, 75, etc. Essentially gimme chievos, but this one is tough and just time consuming if going for the 100% completion

A nice, juicy 150 pointer for completing Horde on all 29 maps. It didn't release in Japan until all the DLC was completed, so it included everything, which is why a lot of the DLC map related achievements were replaced (with level up ones like darkblueprint said).

In theory, yes, it can be played in short bursts, but that's how it starts. You'll sit down for an hour to play, finally beat a part that was giving you trouble and be pumped up to move on to the next area. Days later you'll realize you haven't slept, you've lost 30 pounds, your kids hate you and your wife has left you.

Off topic: Has anyone pre-ordered the: xb1: chat pad from www.Microsoftstore.com? Mine was supposed to be delivered today but the tracking information updated about 20 minutes ago that UPS will be holding it for a future delivery date.

That's almost cheap enough on DMC4, not quite. Give me DmC for $10 and I'll be happy.

Spy Chameleon has an achievement "complete all levels in under 18 minutes on hard". Dang.

 
I didn't care for Spy Chameleon that much, just kinda bored me. I got 215gs in 7.5 hours.

Olliolli is more fun but I felt the controls weren't quite tight enough. It may have been lack of skill on my part though the game does possess quite a challenge. I got 150gs in 7 hours.

I'm really glad to see the RE episode for free, never thought Capcom would do that.

 
I thought spy chameleon looked like a good deal at $3.34 but then I realized it's only $5 normally. That sumbitch will be .99 cents one day. I'll grab it then.
 
I fired up KI to look, is this the first Season 2 character on sale? Seeing the roster size, it's tempting to buy TJ, but will they put the rest of them out like this? I'm holding out I think for holiday sales, hopefully we see a sale on the whole season, I would probably bite at $30 for an ultimate pack for both seasons. $40 last time wasn't worth it.

They seem to be making a character 99 cents weekly. $40 for both seasons' ultimate pack is worth it. Normally $80.

Yep. The full game doesn't work on my 360 anymore, never deleted it or anything. Trying to load my old saves tells me that it requires the other episodes or something. Anyone who still has it on their 360 should check to see if their's still works.

I just checked after seeing this. Had some trouble with updateing the game but after it loaded up fine with my save.
