This may be somewhat naive of me considering that I am not married, but why not just show her the game, express your interest in it, and then maybe go out together for a nice dinner afterward? If she games also, she may want to play it too! I understand the importance of budgeting and saving, but having an allotment for "Quality of Life" luxuries that make you and her happy should be factored in as well unless you're running a pure austerity budget.

I am really happy I got in on the Dell $25 eGC deal for Bloodborne. This game, The Witcher III: Wildhunt, and Persona 5 are the reasons why I went ahead and jumped into the next generation of consoles instead of waiting longer. I will definitely pick up Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin sometime soon too.

Not everyone has a wife that appreciates or understands videogames. And certainly even fewer actually have spouses that actually enjoy video games. That being said, marriage should be a balance which includes understanding and appreciating that each of you is different with different tastes and interests.

I'm betting awp is hiding it from his wife because, like most of us here, he's addicted to buying games and probably over some reasonable limit that he feels that his wife finds acceptable. At least, that usually why I hide games from my wife, anyway. :)

I better stay away from reviews too then. :) Since moving to Xbone I've (mostly) been sticking to the plan of waiting for a sale price on all digital games, even stuff I really want to play like Life is Strange and Resident Evil HD. I think the only thing I've bought for full price is Revelations 2 and I kind of convinced myself that the $25 digital price was already a discount from the $40 retail disc price. :whistle2:

Had a few laughs at some of the responses, but this one pretty much nails it. My wife thinks video games are a complete waste of time and money, but she tolerates the fact that I enjoy them. And I do try to make sure I balance them with everything else in life. Showing her something like Ori certainly isn't going to change her opinion. The only video game I can get her to play is You Don't Know Jack.

So, to the single people here, unless you meet the someone as addicted to being a CAG as you are, stay single! ;)

I just checked the rewards statement. It says 15,000 is from pre-ordering Dead or Alive 5, 37,000 is from MyVIP and 250 is from the monthly survey. I'm guessing the myvip thing is from spending money recently, which makes me happy and depressed at the same time.

Oh right I forgot about those pre-orders at the MS Store but nice on the MyVIP bonus. The MyVIP should be your rebate from spending money on the XBLM but you must already be in the 5-star range to get that many points back. Either that or you got a nice bonus for nothing lol.

But for real, I know I didn't spend $370 last month. Maybe since Xmas. I spend between $50-100 a month of actual money. Now, if myvip also counts the use point cards, it's more likely. I recently sold my all 360 games since I own them digitally and used all that credit to buy xbox gift cards. For whatever reason I just never considered that myrewards counted that. Now it seems stupid that they wouldn't.
 
Is anyone on the 360 having issues with Live right now?

Did you by any chance renew your gold? That may be another reason. I'd like to know if you did.

Mine expires in a couple of weeks. I am going to let it expire, see if it adds a month - from the Halo thingie - and then use one of my XBL cards to renew for another year (or may be I'll do 3 years this time).

There's been some issue with the Title Update. Not everyone is getting it, and Rockstar seems to be having server issues. This isn't too surprising, as they're probably having a major population return to see what these long promised Heists are like, and there's also the issue of 4 platforms having a surge.

Hopefully this will be resolved by the weekend. From what I've read by people who have played they do seem fun.

It did carry over progress into the release version of the game, and you could even unlock achievements. And actually, it was the same download-- I had already preordered and preloaded the game, and the Access trial just used that.

 
So I have DA:O and DA2 sitting here. Never played.  Should I just jump into Inquisition or actually take my time and play the others and come back when it is $20? This free trial is so tempting.

Do you have like a million hours to devote to a game franchise?

fwiw. I played about halfway through the first Dragon Age and thought it was pretty good, didnt play the 2nd and now I am playing Inquisition, and I dont really feel like i'm missing anything by not having finished the first or played the second. Very good game though, just wish it had been a new Mass Effect instead
